MP3 player looks & acts like a cassette

MP3 player looks & acts like a cassette
This Cassette looks like it could have come straight out of the 80′s, but it’s also an MP3 Player. It can be used as a stand alone MP3 player with headphones, or inserted into any cassette deck and played that way. It plays the music directly from the SD card that you put in it, so you can’t reverse/skip/etc. when the tape is playing. Pointless, but neat.

Of course if you want different tunes, just load another SD card in it. It will cost you $22 from Chinavasion, and some valuable dignity as you go back to using an old cassette deck. With this kind of backwards thinking, Chinavasion will have an iPod in an old 8-Track tape in no time.

Camy Light Sword Wiimote Holsters For Jedi Action

Camy Light Sword Wiimote Holsters
Would be Jedis of the Wii variety now have another weapon at their disposal. Camy’s Pro Gear Wii Light Swords are similar to this lightsaber attachment we told you about in November, but with a strange off center saber.

They are colored plastic Wiimote holders available in three “ultra bright” colors. If you wish to instill not fear but laughter, you can flip a switch and light up the night sky with your dorky laser blade. The swords are slated for a May/June release, with no word on price just yet. You can always just settle for having a light saber lamp nearby too.

Metallic Nintendo Wii Machine Gun

Nintendo Wii Machine Gun
Another day, another Wii accessory. In fact, I am now making it a point to chronicle every Wii thing available for your enjoyment. If the Shark gun didn’t sink it’s teeth into your wallet, and the 8 in 1 Wii weapon kit didn’t give you enough weapons for in-game maximum Carnage, maybe this metallic Wii Machine gun is more up your alley.

It will transform your Wiimote and Nunchuk into a silver machine gun, detailed in black. The Wii Machine Gun measures 11.81 x 4.96 x 1.65 inches, weighs 10.86 oz and is available from DealExtreme for $16.54.

Rock Band Stage Kit adds smoke & lights
The Rock Band Stage Kit will add more authenticity to your dreams of becoming a real life rock star. The peripheral kit was spotted on GameStop’s website, retailing for $99.99. Not many other details are known, but it will include an interactive light and smoke show.

If rocking on a fake plastic guitar still manages to satisfy your rock and roll dreams, just imagine how fancy smoke and lights will raise you to the next level of your somewhat less then Rock-God performances.

The Seiko Discus: A new spin on the watch

A new spin on the watch

This stunningly good looking watch from Seiko Japan uses a series of spinning aluminum discs to display the time. And unlike many of the newer watches coming out of Japan these days, this one makes it very easy to read the time. Three numbered discs continuously rotate to display hours, minutes and seconds.

The Discus is part of Seiko’s Moving Image series, a line of automatic timepieces with great contemporary style. This one is available in two versions: one with a stainless body and white face, and one with a black metal body and a smoked glass face. It’s amazing what they are doing with watches these days. Makes me wish I had 10 arms.

Gen-x console plays Sega Genesis & NES games

Gen-x console plays Sega Genesis & NES

You can get your old classics on Wii’s virtual console, but it just doesn’t compare to being able to pop in that cartridge and play. Like a good book, sometimes you want to feel that cartridge in your hand, or see it in your collection. The Gen-x is a new hybrid console that lets you play the best of the 8-bit and 16-bit video game generations, and has full compatibility with both the Nintendo Entertainment System and the SEGA Genesis games. What’s more, it’s even rumored that it will play every single NES cartridge with no compatibility issues whatsoever.

The system comes with everything you need to get playing, including controllers and A/V cables. Unfortunately, you can’t connect an original NES controller. Not sure what the hell they were thinking there, but the ports are compatible with SEGA’s original controllers at least. The console’s list price is $59.99, but can be found in stock at VideoGameAction for only $36.89.

Let It Snow executive sandbox

Let’s say you’re trapped in the office, but you would rather be out playing in the snow. Well, you can’t just say screw the job and go make snow angels. Better yet, what if you live in a climate where you don’t get snow at Christmas time? Worse still, what if you live in the year 2587 and global warming has made it so that you will never have a white Christmas again?

The Let It Snow Executive Sandbox has the cure for what ails ya. Just play in the snow right at your desk. Snowmen, sleds, shovels, a tree…this sandbox has it all. You’ll be singing Frosty The Snowman in no time. And if you crank up the AC, your fingertips might just get frost bit. This is alot of winter cheer for the low price of $9.99.

Play NES cartridges on your Nintendo DS

Play NES Cartridges On Your Nintendo DS

I don’t know about you, but I have been meaning to hack my Nintendo DS so it can play more then just DS and GBA games. I just hate the idea of cracking it open and messing up big time. Thanks to this DS Famicom Adapter, I won’t have to worry.

It will let you play old Famicom (NES) games right on your DS. An adapter may be needed to play American NES games using it, it’s too early to know for sure, but who cares. You will be playing the classics on your Nintendo DS in no time. So what if those cartridges were huge and clunky. When you combine 2 systems in one device, the results are always cool. It hooks directly into your DS Lite’s GBA adapter slot.

“I Look” interactive eyeball speakers

I don’t know about you, but when I look at the “I Look” speakers, I see something that looks alot like teletubbie technology. This must be their way of taking over the world since Tubbie custard failed to do the trick.

It’s a new and possibly creepy way to enjoy tunes on your mp3 player. These interactive eyeballs light up, flash, and move to the beat. And if you clap your hands, they will look in your direction. Hopefully, you won’t be hypnotised and do their bidding. The manufacturer even claims that they light up with millions of color patterns.

The Lars & Ivan Hybrid iPod dock

The Lars & Ivan Hybrid iPod Dock

Whoever Lars and Ivan are, one thing is clear. Well, two things. They know design and they sound like a swedish/Russian adventure movie duo. This PA-40Ti Hybrid iPod Dock is a true work of art, resembling something like a techno hammerhead shark or manta ray from some far off future. It looks as if it may even eat the iPod.(In a cool way) They even left the tubes exposed so you can see them.

They’ve skipped the built-in speakers entirely and instead focus on giving you 40 watts of stereo amplification that can power your speakers.

R2-D2 Soy Sauce bottle: disturbance in the force

R2-D2 Soy Sauce bottle

We all love R2-D2, but this may be taking things to the extreme. For those who love the little droid too much and at the same time have an unhealthy obsession with Soy Sauce, the two have been combined. Just pour your soy sauce into R2(The liquid kind, not the sorta liquid kind), pop R2′s head back on and start pouring sauce from the little bot.

Seriously, did you ever think you would see the day when soy sauce pours forth from a droid head? I’m actually kinda disturbed, but I know some of you will find it cool. But wait, it gets better…

Betta Aquarium: cruel to fish – cool to see

Fish In Space

Here is a very cool looking retro Sci-Fi style aquarium called Fish In Space. It’s also very small for the poor fish. The thing is only powered by 2 button cell batteries for goodness sake. How would you like to be the fish whose life depended on 2 button cell batteries? It has glow in the dark stars that look neat in the night time. The UFO on top beams some cool lighting into the aquarium too. I bet the fish wishes that it would abduct it’s sorry scales out of there.

Still isn’t it every intelligent civilization’s goal to put fish into outer space? Well, after seeing the picture, I think we can all be convinced that it should be right at the top of the list.

Scene It! for Xbox 360 has big button controllers

Scene It! for Xbox 360 features big button controllers

The first thing you’ll notice is that these controllers look like some sort of cartoon thermometers or maybe some weird electronic Candyland Game accessory. These big buttoned Xbox 360 controllers are strange to say the least. They come bundled with the new Scene It! game.

The big buttons are colored the same as the standard four buttons from the Xbox 360 controllers, just vertically aligned below the big button. The large button is for that game show moment when you slam the button and submit the right answer, cuing loud music and confetti raining down on you. It also has the Xbox gem and a “Start” and “Back” button on each controller. You get all 4 controllers with the $60 game.

Stealth aircraft mouse with LED lights

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on November 5th, 2007

Stealth aircraft mouse with LED lightsBogie spotted at 6 O’Clock. Target locked. You aren’t likely to see another mouse this cool. It’s modeled to look like some sort of Stealth Fighter and it even sports colored LED lights. It only has an 800dpi optical sensor, but it makes up for that in style. I question the comfort factor, but it’s a nice piece of eye candy regardless. It comes in a white version as well, but black makes it look all stealthy.

So put some aviation action on your desktop. Make plane noises as you surf. Be the Top Gun of your computer. No info seems to be available regarding price, but if I were you I would make like Area 51 and hide one away for Christmas. If anyone asks, deny everything!
