LG DM50D 3D HDTV

LG has outed the DM50D 3D HDTV, but kept most of the specs to themselves. It features passive 3D glasses, “Flicker Free” capabilities from its Cinema 3D TV line, and twice the brightness of conventional 3D TVs.

It also has a built-in DTV tuner, HDMI for connecting with 3D consoles etc, and you can view images and videos directly from a USB flash drive if you like. It’ll be arrive in Europe in July and elsewhere later.

LG LW4500 3D Cinema TV Series Now Available In Korea And Europe

LG has launched the LG LW4500 3D cinema TV series in South Korea and Europe. These LCD TVs offer brighter, sharper images at any angle. The lightweight and affordable glasses are battery free and certified flicker-free and come in a variety of colors and styles. Not that that helps much. No one likes to wear 3D glasses.

Other features of the LG LW4500 3D cinema TV series include a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and DivX Plus HD support. It’s compatible with most multimedia files including MKV, AVI, TS, MP4, WMV HD, WMA, MP3 and AVCHD. The 32-inch LG LW4500 retails for 799 Euros ($1,136) and the 55-inch model retails for 1,899 Euros ($2,700).

VIZIO unveils Cinemawide HDTV

VIZIO wants to redefine the “Home Theatre” in your living room with their Cinemawide HDTV LED LCDs. They are available in two sizes, 50″ and 58″ and will feature a 21:9 Cinema aspect ratio that can display native 2.35: 1 “CinemaScope” movies without any black bars for a true cinematic experience.

The TVs also feature VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA) in Cinema mode which will allow you to have browser apps side-by-side with 16:9 Full HD content. These are also Edge Lit Razor LED HDTVs with Smart Dimming and are capable of displaying 3D content with battery-free, lightweight glasses.

Toshiba BDX3000 Blu-ray Disc Player

Toshiba has expanded its line of Blu-ray players with the new BDX3000. It’s the company’s first 3D-capable Blu-ray disc player. The BDX3000 delivers Full HD Blu-ray 3D playback with a suite of streaming content and comprehensive audio support.

You can combine this Blu-ray player with Toshiba’s all-new WX800 Cinema Series 3D LED HDTV and a pair of Toshiba 3D glasses. Some other features include DynaLight control and ClearFrame 240Hz technology. The BDX3000 also supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet for wireless access to streaming movies, shows and music.

LG Infinia PX950 Plasma HDTV series

LG has another first on its hands with their Infinia PX950 Plasma HDTV series. It’s the first of its kind to receive THX certification after passing over 400 laboratory tests that evaluate left and right eye images for color accuracy, cross-talk, viewing angles and video processing performance.

It also went through THX certification for superior picture quality in 2D which is a must before it can even have a go at THX 3D certification. It takes just one button push for the viewer to select THX 2D or 3D Cinema Modes, and if it’s 3D you want, you’ll need to make sure you have a pair of active shutter glasses.

Apple releases new 27-inch LED Cinema Display

Apple has just announced its latest 27″ LED Cinema Display. It features a stunning 2560 x 1440 resolution and 60% more screen real estate compared to its predecessor. It has a built-in iSight video camera, microphone and speakers, a powered USB 2.0 hub and universal MagSafe connector.

This good looking $999 monitor also sports a beautiful 16:9 edge-to-edge glass display on an aluminum stand with an adjustable hinge, so that tilting the display requires almost no effort at all. Let’s not forget the 178 degree viewing angle.

Microsoft anounces HD LifeCam CinemaToday Microsoft announced a brand new webcam with the LifeCam Cinema, which offers a true HD experience in 720p resolution. It’s capable of capturing 30 frames per second and it’s all about giving you high quality at an affordable price.

Some other features include a 4x digital zoom, noise-canceling mic, autofocus and a glass lens. Constructed from aluminum, this camera has an interesting stand that works with both notebooks and desktops. The webcam even has a specific Windows Live call button for use with Windows Live Messenger and it connects via USB 2.0.

RealD announces RealD LP accessory for 3D ready projectors

reald-logo-sbI have seen several of the new breed of 3D films at the theater over the last year. The most recent was the Aliens vs. Monsters flick that used RealD technology for all the 3D goodness the film offered. I will be happy when 3D finally comes affordably to the living room so I can watch my favorite shows in 3D.

RealD has announced today a new accessory for 3D ready projectors that is design for use in the home or office on screens up to 17-feet across. The accessory is called the RealD LP and promises to bring the 3D quality from the local cinema to small venues like conference rooms and other places.

First non-Apple monitors to feature Mini Display Port announcedSome of you have probably been itching to play with Apple’s new video connection standard, but would rather not shell out $800. Perfectly understandable. Collins America has announced the first new line of LCD monitors to use Apple’s new Mini Display Port standard. The CinemeView LCD displays are made specifically for Macs and the first three models will be available before September 1st, 2009.

The three initial CinemaView displays will be: 19 inches with 1440×900 resolution, 20.1 inches at 1650×1050 and 24 inches at 1920×1080. The prices are just $299, 399, and $499. All displays feature 3 USB 2.0 ports, a passthrough stereo audio jack, and an all in one cable to connect them to your new Unibody Mac, or desktop.

Samsung goes artsy with Series 6, 7 LCD HDTVs

Samsung Series 7 LCD HDTV

Samsung today put word out through the lands of tech about the availability of its Series 6 and Series 7 LCD HDTVs. These displays range in size from 19- to 52-inches and pricing from around $480 to $3,500.

The Series 6 displays should mostly be available now, with the Series 7 units come out in May. Samsung’s most touted design features with these displays is its “Touch of Color” which draws from “several artistic inspirations” and features “a hint of red color naturally blended into a semi-transparent piano black bezel.” Excuse us while we go wipe the marketing barf off of ourselves – you can read the rest of the Samsung love fest after the jump.

JVC offers up new 1920×1080 HDD camcorders

JVC GZ-HD6JVC offered up earlier this week for consumer consumption some new high definition hard disk camcorders which deliver 1920×1080 recording. These are the JVC GZ-HD6 and GZ-HD5, priced at around $1,400 and $1,200 respectively.

The JVC GZ-HD6 and GZ-HD5 can record up to 10 hours or 5 hours respectively of “full HD 1920 x 1080 MPEG2 Transport Stream video with MPEG 1 Layer 2 audio.” They use three 1/5-inch CCDs to accomplish this, also featuring an F1.8-F1.9 10x zoom lens and 1080 progressive 60fps HDMI output.

JVC said both camcorders will be available in March. You can get the full details after the jump.

New C3X 1080 projector sports 3 TI chips

SIM2 C3X 1080SIM2, a developer of home theater products, is out with a stylish new home media projector which hopefully will match features with its high price. The SIM2 C3X 1080 is awaiting your credit card to be charged for around $32,000.

The SIM2 C3X 1080 is a small 3 chip projector using Texas Instrument’s latest DarkChip 4 chip (you home theater geeks know what this means so I’ll move on). It delivers self-described “benchmark quality” 1080p video display and makes use of special all-glass optics in the company’s proprietary light engine.
