Play World of Warcraft for free up to level 20

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on June 29th, 2011

If you haven’t been bit by the WOW bug yet, Blizzard is hoping to entice you by allowing you to play unrestricted up to level 20 before the game starts asking for money. At that point you can choose to ditch your character and all that hard work, or pay $20 for the full game along with the Burning Crusade expansion which ups your level cap to 70 and opens Outlands, and the Blood Elf and Draenei races.

Also, the Burning Crusade expansion is completely free to everyone who has the game and hasn’t already bought it. Seems like a good time to get into WOW.

Nokia’s N950 torn apart by FCC

Posted in Nokia by Conner Flynn on June 26th, 2011

Looks like the FCC has already torn apart Nokia’s new MeeGo development phone. And it looks like the rumors of watered-down N9 specs are true, except for a 12-megapixel camera, which is a nice addition.

The N950′s official specs list an 8-megapixel camera, so this is certainly a bonus. And the N950 obviously has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The non-user-accessible BL-4D battery is lower capacity than the N9, at 1,320 mAh.

Japanese PSN Still Down

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on June 26th, 2011

Sony’s troubles still continue. The Japanese government is giving Sony a hard time over the PSN outage still, two months after. They still have not allowed Sony to bring PSN back online until they have certain assurances. These are assurances that the Japanese government has been requesting since May and Sony isn’t giving them a time frame for their implementation.

They simply want preventative measures and Sony isn’t cooperating or communicating. Sony needs to be bending over backwards to win people over once again, so this is pretty stupid on their part.
