Motorola intros D10 and D11 digital cordless phones |
Motorola has some new digital cordless phones, the D10 and D11. Both feature an innovative design that we haven’t really seen before. If the picture above is any indication it can turn the steam from your coffee into a weird hovering alien creature.
The D10 and D11 handsets are intelligent enough that they can adjust automatically to optimize output depending on how far they are from the base unit. In the intelligent ‘eco mode’, you can save on battery power and get longer talk time without sacrificing voice quality. The phone is eco-conscious because 20% of it is made from recycled material, which will help reduce your carbon footprint, which currently looks like Bigfoot on steroids.

If you are looking to drop a ton of dough on speakers, it should probably be on speakers that you won’t drop and shatter in a million pieces. These Harion speakers are made of Heat-resistant glass and are pretty sweet looking despite their fragile nature. They’ll cost you $168,000.
Straight Up Chess is an interesting new version of the standard chess board. The chess set comes framed in your choice of several different wood options and you hang it on your wall. The pieces are supported by shelves that move with the pieces. So, instead of sitting across from each other for hours on end, you can just “move a piece whenever you walk by”. It even includes a marker to remind you who made the last move. Pretty cool idea.
Now you can enjoy 3D imaging right on your desk with this interesting holographic display ‘Holocube 3D Projection Box’. It sports an integrated HDD that stores video and uses it to create 3D Holograms at a resolution of 1080i. It won’t produce a Princess in trouble, telling you that you are her only hope. Nor will it let you talk to your Sith lord or Sith apprentice in real time.
These miniature gun rings won’t kill, but they may make your wedding vows a little more serious. Because when you and your spouse each have one of these, arguments end very quickly. While they would make interesting conversation pieces, I wouldn’t wear one to the airport. These rings come with tiny bullets that you can put in the chamber, which we hope is non-functional.
One gift at the top of many wish lists each holiday season is a new mobile phone. There are all sorts of interesting mobile phones this holiday season ranging from smartphones to music phones and all sorts of devices in between.
We’ve seen our share of knock-offs coming out of China, but this one is downright funny. They’ve taken the iPhone and turned it into a clamshell style phone. Funny thing is, it resembles a MacBook more then an actual iPhone.
One thing that sucks about Thanksgiving dinner is that the Turkey takes so long to cook. We’re talking hours here and people are hungry. This Thanksgiving gadget that will help. The NuWave Oven Pro. The manufacturer claims it can roast up a 10-pound turkey in just two hours. That takes much of the wait out of Thanksgiving dinner.
MLB fans will love these MLB-themed gaming PCs from Commodore. Whether they will hit a home run with them is hard to say, but Baseball fans now have their own fancy machines. The officially licensed desktops feature an exclusive C-kin high-definition paint job and a Core i7 inside.
I know many people who don’t care for smartphones, but send tons of text messages and email. For those people what they want is a phone that offers up a nice keyboard and is aimed at messaging. Alltel has introduced a new handset perfect for this crowd.
Last year when I was going to CES, I almost lost my laptop. The person working the x-ray machine removed it from my bag when I forgot too, but then didn’t tell me they had done it. I got all the way to my gate and realized it was gone. I was able to get it, but hundreds of thousands of notebooks each year aren’t retrieved when lost at airports.
It’s that time again.
If you haven’t got yourself a DS Lite by now, I don’t know if these two new bundles are going to lure you in. And if you already own a DS lite, chances are you are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the DSi here in the states.
Smartphones are the top growing mobile phone category. The Apple iPhone may be at the top of the sales charts, but it has many competitors looking to take that top spot away. One of the smartphones that hoped to steal some of the iPhone thunder was the HTC Touch Pro.
