Posted in Google by Conner Flynn on March 16th, 2011

Google’s Mobile App that’s been around on iOS for awhile has now been updated and has a name change. The app is now called Google Search and it packs some new useful search features for the iOS platform. For one thing, there’s a new toolbar when using Google Search.

If you want to filter your search results into different categories like you can do on the desktop version of Google, the toolbar makes it easy to do on your iOS device. Just swipe from left to right on the device and a toolbar will appear. Select the category and the results on the right will be filtered according to your choice. Pretty sweet.

Konect USB watch concept

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on March 8th, 2011

We’ve seen our share of unique watches. We thought we had seen it all in fact, but nope, there was at least one more. Artist Olivier Demange created this timepiece concept called Konect, which has a wide range of features and looks futuristic.

It sports a Bluetooth radio that acts as a receiver, controls for music playback, a button to answer and end calls, a removable USB stick, and yes it also tells the time. We just aren’t sure how yet. Still, it looks awesome and we hope to be wearing one soon.

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on December 5th, 2010

The Motorola Droid 2, like a rookie soldier in Vietnam, has just claimed it’s first ear. The Droid 2 used by Aron Embry of Texas supposedly blew up on him when he was getting into his car. In an interview with Fox4 he claims, “I heard a pop. I didn’t feel any pain initially. I pulled the phone down. I felt something dripping. I realized that it was probably was blood.”

He goes on to explain: “As I got into the bathroom and once I got to the mirror and saw it, it was only then I kinda looked at my phone and noticed the screen had appeared to burst outward.” Maybe the phone didn’t like his death grip?

BlockDock iPad Dock

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on November 17th, 2010

We’ve seen plenty of iPad docks, some sophisticated, some simple. The latest is the BlockDock, which goes into the simple category, featuring a minimalist design hand crafted from wood. It’s a piece of wood with a notch in it.

You could probably make this yourself very easily. The BlockDock iPad dock is available for $12.95. At least they didn’t try to charge more for it. It actually looks more elegant than many of the high priced docks.

Lego Dissected Frog is the grossest Lego project ever

Posted in lego by Conner Flynn on November 4th, 2010

We’ve seen plenty of Lego creations around here, but this one is probably the grossest. This dissected frog is made entirely out of Lego bricks. The creator made the dissected frog for the MOC Olympics where it was entered into the anatomy category.

It’s pretty cool, but also pretty creepy. It reminds me of biology class. I can smell the formaldehyde. Good times. Not! Even the tablet, pins, tweezers, and scalpel are all made from Lego.

Posted in Designs by Shane McGlaun on August 30th, 2010

Say cloud storage to a bunch of geeks and we start to think about storing our photos and other important content online rather than locally. There are lots of cloud-based storage options around and not all of them are what you think.

A new design concept shelf for the wall that looks like a cloud has brought cloud storage to a new meaning. The design concept looks like a puffy cloud and is called Shelf Cumulus. It is made from metal and painted white.
