Grace Digital has come out recently with a number of new products to help convert vinyl to digital music, such as the Victoria Classic shown above. These new models – the Victoria Tunewriter, Victoria Classic and AVPUSB01S – price at around $300, $170 and $90, respectively.

All of these devices are designed to let you digitize your old records (LPs) and cassettes. Modes of digitizing include letting you record directly to CDs or digital music files which can be stored directly on an attached USB thumb drive. You can get the full details after the jump.

That’s right, it’s 2008 and Sony is releasing a tape deck. Wtf you say? Me too. I’m not sure what they are thinking here, but I’m betting an 8-Track deck is around the corner. This dual tape recorder has a nice modern look, at least. It also features a CD player and a FM/AM Radio Tuner. It comes in two shades of gray and is available only in Japan for around $145.

There must be a surplus of tapes in Japan that I had not heard of. Either that or they just collectively discovered the magic of the garage sale cassette. Seriously, alot of people still use tapes. Mostly because they are cheap. The tapes, not the people. OK, them too. Still, I would be curious to find out how many of these units Sony is able to move.

This Cassette looks like it could have come straight out of the 80′s, but it’s also an MP3 Player. It can be used as a stand alone MP3 player with headphones, or inserted into any cassette deck and played that way. It plays the music directly from the SD card that you put in it, so you can’t reverse/skip/etc. when the tape is playing. Pointless, but neat.

Of course if you want different tunes, just load another SD card in it. It will cost you $22 from Chinavasion, and some valuable dignity as you go back to using an old cassette deck. With this kind of backwards thinking, Chinavasion will have an iPod in an old 8-Track tape in no time.

Some of us are old enough to have not only CDs lying around, but cassettes and maybe a few vinyl LPs as well. Or God forbid, 8-Track tapes. Despite the fact that the cover art was superior on those old records, by now it is time to bring them up to date so you can enjoy them more easily and put them away for safe keeping.

The Crosley Songwriter may not help with 8-Track tapes, but it will let you burn an LP onto a CD in style and it takes only minutes. Not to worry, it’s also a three-speed record player, so you can still play your old records if you are feeling nostalgic. The device also burns cassettes into CDs as well. The design is the perfect blend of old and new style and will cost you $400. If you have a ton of rare cassettes and records that are not available on CD, it will pay for itself in no time while you preserve your music.
