Casio’s Bluetooth 4.0 G-Shock watch hits the FCC

The Casio GB-6900 has passed through the FCC. The device features Bluetooth 4.0 that will last up to two years on a single battery assuming that Bluetooth communications are used for 12 hours per day. The device will feature Casio’s Touch Solar technology that will recharge the watch when it is exposed to sun or artificial light.

Casio’s prototype version of the device featured incoming call and email alerts, a finder function and wireless time synchronization via Bluetooth. Casio is also working on sports, heath, home entertainment and communications applications for the device.

Rugged Casio G’zOne Commado gets official

Casio’s rugged G’zOne Commando is now official. It is coming to Verizon on April 28th for $200 on-contract. The Commando is the first rugged Android handset on Verizon’s network. The device meets 810G military specifications for water, dust, shock, vibration, salt fog, solar radiation, and temperature extremes and runs Android 2.2 (Froyo). Sounds like it has you covered no matter what the situation is.

It also sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, WiFi, stereo Bluetooth, and a hotspot feature to share the 3G connection with up to five devices. It also comes with some apps like a compass, pedometer, star gazer, and thermometer.

Samsung W200 shock + waterproof pocket cam with full HD video

Word on the street is that Samsung is expected to announce a new W200 shock+waterproof pocket cam with full HD video capabilities. It looks nice and sporty doesn’t it? Looks like it can take a decent beating. The sensor resolution will be 5MP (back side illuminated).

So feel free to carry this one with you on your Indiana Jones type adventures, stopping to snap a pic occasionally as you outrun enemies and uncover buried treasures. Or just, you know, take it with you on vacation. The announcement should be in a few days.

Casio G-Shock GDF100 Watch

Fans of Casio’s G-Shocks watches will be happy to know that Casio has introduced the latest edition to the G-Shock family of timepieces, the GDF100. This version looks pretty stylish and comes in some good looking colors.

The watch has a front-facing pressure and temperature sensor built into the bezel on the left at the 9 o’clock position. This watch also includes an altimeter, barometer and thermometer. Sadly, we don’t have any info on pricing just yet, but we will let you know when we find out.

G-Shock Watch designed by Dee & RickyWe’ve seen our share of G-Shock watches come down the pipe but never one designed quite like this. The new GA110DR-1A from G-Shock gets its primary-colored Lego design from New York fashion designers Dee & Ricky.

Although the watch has a toy-esque look to it, it still holds true to the G-Shock name with durable features including magnetic resistance, 200M water resistance, LED light, the ability to track time in 48 different cities, alarm, calendar and more.

Casio releases Eco-Baby G Watch

Casio’s newest Baby G watch is inspired by the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day and dubbed Casio the Eco-Baby-G BGR300GR-3. Eco-Baby-G incorporates Tough Solar Technology and recharging capability that eliminates the need to change batteries.

The Eco-Baby-G BGR300GR-3 is completely green. It’s not only earth friendly, but so is its recyclable box. Available in…shades of green, the BGR300GR-3 will be available in March for $110.

Casio launches GA-100/100A G-Shock watches

Casio has announced its stylish GA-100/100A G-Shock watches, which boast an analog display and three dials on the face. These shock resistant watches feature a 1/1000-second stopwatch, velocity indicator, and are even magnetic resistance compliant with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Over-sized buttons make it easy to operate. Some other features include an anti-slip finish and a large face with easy-to-read displays. There are a three versions of the black GA-100 models and a few of the GA-100A models, which will come in yellow or white. Pretty nice.

Casio introduces the world's slimmest toughcamWaterproof cameras are great for getting those outdoor shots in winter, but they are so huge and bulky. At least they were, but not anymore. At just .78 inches, the Casio EX-G1 is now the thinnest rugged camera in existence.

Yes it’s thin and can take a beating. It will survive a drop from 7 feet onto solid ground or a dunk into 10 feet of water. Plus this 12.1 megapixel shooter manages to actually look nice. Look for it in black or red next month for $300.

Casio EXILIM now available on Verizon

Casio EXILIM now available on VerizonIt’s been rumored as the C721 for awhile and Casio’s EXILIM pivoting clamshell is now available to everyone on Verizon. The camera rocks 5.1 megapixels with autofocus, image stabilization, and a 3x optical zoom.

Some other features include: mil-spec 810F compliant for dust, shock, temperature, and water resistance. Expandability up to 8GB and compatibility with Verizon’s VZ Navigator service. All of that wet picture taking will cost you $279.99 on contract after rebate.

Casio Robo-watches celebrate G-Shock anniversaryObviously this is a marketing gimmick. But ask yourself, are these robot watches more awesome than your typical watch? Hell yes. Casio’s 25 years of G-Shock celebration continues with the offering of a new set of character watches designed by Shiro Nakano.

Now that I’ve given you the good news, it’s time for the bad. These robot characters themselves are not available for sale. And yes, that’s a big mistake, because they are amazingly cool. They would make great desktop clocks. And good robot clocks are hard to find. Ask any robo-enthusiast.

The Dennou AR Figures virtual 3D girlfriends are for those extra lonely nerds who don’t get out much. I think the idea is that you would want to check in on her now and then, apply spankings as needed and occasionally give her gifts, all safe in the knowledge that she can’t run or call the cops.

Casio G-Shock G8100A-5 is slightly steampunkThe Casio G-Shock G8100A-5 is a watch with typical modern features, while at the same time sporting a vague ‘antique’ design. Obviously Casio doesn’t want to miss out on the steampunk market. It’s got a bronze colored aluminum face and perforated resin band and a price tag of $99.

Even though this watch is only barely steampunk, it has a bunch of features like, auto dual electroluminescent backlights with ‘afterglow’, world time with 29 time zones and automatic daylight savings adjustments, 2 multi-function alarms, snooze alarm, timer that can countdown 1 minute to 24 hours, stopwatch, and it’s shock and water resistant to 200 meters. Not a bad watch if you want to look only slightly steampunk.

Casio G-Shock G5500CCasio G-Shock watches have now apparently been around for some 25 years. The company has just rolled out another model – the Casio G-Shock G5500C – to join the product line and it prices at around $120.

The Casio G-Shock G5500C is available in three colors – red, green, white – and, like its predecessors, is shock resistant and also water resistant up to 200 meters. This particular G-Shock also draws its power from the sun via a built-in solar panel and rechargeable battery.

Casio G-Shock Limited edition white watch for the US Open of SurfingCasio has released a limited edition version of their extreme sports-tough G-Shock watches for this years US Open of Surfing. The watch comes in a white resin case and band with the US Open of Surfing logo branded on the band.

The US Open of Surfing G-Shock watch will obviously Casio’s well-known shock resistance along with water resistance up to 200 meters, afterglow backlight, countdown timer, stopwatch, alarm, a preprogrammed calendar and it just looks cool.
