I have used the Tango stylus for the iPhone before and the thing works very well for hitting small buttons and links with more accuracy. The problem was that there was no place to put the stylus in most cases making it hard to take along on the road.

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2010

Visa is paving the way for iPhone owners to be able to make payments with their handset at special terminals. This wireless credit card payment system is the first of its kind in the world. It will involve a customized payment software called Visa payWave, which will come pre-installed on a memory card.

The iPhone itself lacks an external memory slot, so it will require you to buy a new iPhone case that is Apple-certified. This makes everyone richer, including the case manufacturer. Everyone except for you. Your money will be leaving with the case and with every transaction.

TSA employee looks inside laptop bag.Blogger Bob with the TSA announced recently that electronic items smaller than the standard size laptop should not need to be removed from their bag or case when going through airport security. They didn’t say specifically what that standard size is, but did name a few items specifically that would fall below the size threshold have having to be removed, namely iPads, Kindles, Neos, Nooks, Sony Readers and Netbooks.

This certainly doesn’t mean that you don’t need to take things out of your bag …

Apple pulling all protective screen film products from stores

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on March 17th, 2010

You can choose from a bunch of protective screen films at Apple’s online or retail stores, but probably not for much longer. iLounge is reporting that Apple will stop selling all protective screen film products starting in May.

That includes film-only products and cases that have a protective film built into them. Apple hasn’t given any reason and hasn’t even confirmed it yet, but ironically the most popular iPod “case” in the Apple Store right now is a protective film for the iPod touch. Go figure.

Spiderpodium iPhone holder

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 14th, 2010

The iPhone has cases, stands, docks and apps galore, but until now it has never had eight legs. The Spiderpodium won’t allow your iPhone to scurry away from you like a spider, but it will hold your device on eight bendable spider-like legs.

You can bend the legs to hold your iPhone on various surfaces, maybe even the handlebars of your bike, or on your steering wheel, though we don’t recommend it. The Spiderpodium is available for preorder for £14.99 ($23) and it will be available on March 29th. Should be pretty useful.
