Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on July 7th, 2010

These EXOvault cases for the iPhone look down right awesome. Each is handmade from metal, and some models are engraved with intricate designs. They add a touch of old world metal chic to your iPhone. Each of EXOvault’s cases are crafted from lightweight metals, like brass or anodized aluminum, and feature an inlaid rosewood accent on back.

There’s also a minimal black aluminum case that looks pretty decent. They are priced at $110 to $165. All of the cases are designed for the iPhone 3GS, but hopefully they will out some iPhone 4 designs soon.

Coveroo offers iPhone 4 cases you can customize

Posted in Mobile Accessories by Shane McGlaun on June 25th, 2010

One of the things about the iPhone is that with its popularity just about everyone has one. It’s hard to be unique when everyone uses the same gear. Coveroo has announced a couple new cases for the iPhone 4.

Among the new cases are ones that are printed with the typical stuff we see like movie characters, team logos, and other designs. The cool case is one that the company will put your own picture or design on.

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on June 24th, 2010

When you pay Apple prices for the latest shiny gadget, you are going to want some insurance to protect your investment. MobileProtect is the only company to offer insurance for the iPhone 4 right now, when it comes to cases of loss or theft, water or other liquid damage, accidental damage and out-of-warranty failure.

It’s a great idea. Especially in this economy. It will cost you $11.99 a month for the coverage. It’s probably only necessary for the more accident prone among us.

4,400 Chevrolet Volt owners to be eligible for home charging stations

Posted in Automotive by Shane McGlaun on June 18th, 2010

One of the most interesting coming electric cars is the Chevrolet Volt. The Volt has an electric drive train and runs exclusively from electric power. However, the Volt does have a gas-powered generator for making electricity to extend the cars driving range.

Chevrolet has announced that 4,400 Volt buyers will be eligible for a free 240V charge station. The 240V charge station will allow the Volt to recharge faster than the 120V cable that the car comes with. The charge stations will be paid for from Recovery Act funds.

TILT iPad case

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on June 14th, 2010

You need a case to protect that shiny new iPad of yours. And Hard Graft has a new TILT iPad case. The TILT case is made from 100% wool felt and provides a lightweight yet flexible case that can be turned back on its self to create a stand for tilting your iPad.

It shouldn’t add much weight to your iPad at all. Stretchy bands hold your iPad in place with two small ones over each corner and a larger band keeping the main flap in place during transport. Hopefully it is good at keeping your device secure that way.

KlearKase Kindle waterproof case

Posted in kindle by Conner Flynn on June 11th, 2010

Two Kindle cases in two days. Maybe reading books isn’t dead after all. The KlearKase press release even goes so far as bad mouthing yesterday’s M-Edge Guardian for being twice as expensive and thrice as heavy. I guess the Kindle waterproof case wars have begun.

This 6-ounce polycarbonate case will cost you just $39.99 and Amazon will have them available by the end of the month. This one does look cooler than the M-Edge. What do you think?

ZAGG announces iPhone 4 invisibleSHIELD

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Shane McGlaun on June 10th, 2010

I have talked before about the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD protective films. I have used these films on all of my iPhones since the device launched and it does a great job of protecting the screen and body of the phone without having to worry about scratches.

The only downside to the film is that the extra grip it gives the body of the iPhone makes it hard to use the device in a case that fits snugly. ZAGG has announced that it has the film available for the iPhone 4.
