The updated MacBook Air was unveiled today and case manufacturers are already on the case, so to speak. WaterField Designs is launching a new lineup of cases for your new MacBook Air. The Smart Case will protect your MacBook Air and keep it looking great.

It comes in two sizes, 11.6 or 13.1 inches. The case features a nylon exterior that is water-resistant, with a padded interior, an Ultrasuede scratch-free liner and eco-friendly distressed brown leather. You paid quite a bit for your new toy, so you may as well protect it.

There are a lot of notebook bags and sleeves on the market today. They tend to be made from the same materials and look pretty much the same. If you want a notebook case that is cool and looks different from what you typically see for your MacBook, Twelve South has one for you.

The case is called the Book Book and it looks like a real hard cover book on the outside. The case has hard sides and dual zippers for opening. Inside the case are elastic straps to keep it connected to your notebook.

Agent 18, a maker of primarily cases for portable media players like the iPod, is unveiling today a new case for the popular MacBook Air. It is called the MacBook Air Shield and you’ll find it retailing for around $50.

The Agent 18 MacBook Air Shield is made of durable polycarbonate and available in three colors, including white, black and pink. Agent 18 says the case offers fully functional protection with sacrificing “any style of the world’s thinnest notebook.”

Speck rolls out MacBook Air, iMac hard cases

Speck earlier this month unveiled a couple of new cases for the Apple MacBook Air and the 20-inch iMac. These new SeeThru Hard Shells are priced both at around $50.

The Speck SeeThru Hard Shell for the MacBook Air is a two-piece snap design made of plastic. It offers access to all ports, the keyboard and other external items. The case is a clear design and is reportedly shatter proof as well. It comes in multiple colors, including clear, smoke, red, bronze and pink.

New BookLugger cases target MacBook owners

iLugger BookLuggeriLugger is a brand name associated with LTA Projects and a retailer of carrying cases. This particular group of folks unveiled today the BookLugger, a stylish carrying bag for MacBook owners.

The BookLugger comes in two different sizes: one for a 13-inch MacBook and another for a 15-inch MacBook Pro. iLugger says one is also in the works for the 17-inch MackBook Pro. All are made of a ballistic nylon, making them reportedly quite durable and sturdy.

Targus 15″ radius BackpackTargus is showing off at MacWorld a new line up of “eco-friendly” MacBook bags made of PVC-free material. This product line is known as the Radius family and it consists of several messenger bags, backpacks and top loading cases.

The Targus Radius bags are composted of 100% recycled polyester, recyclable plastic and nickel-free metal, making them pretty eco-friendly. Each bag includes an EVA molded compartment to protect your Apple laptop and they are mostly fit to 15-inch models.

Eclipse Sleeves do stylish MacBook protection

Brenthaven Eclipse SleevesBrenthaven, a developer of computer cases, introduced yesterday a new line of slim, stylish cases for MacBooks and MacBook Pros. The Eclipse Sleeves come in three sizes, ranging in price from around $40 to $45, are available starting this month.

The Brenthaven Eclipse Sleeves I, II and III are custom fit for the MacBook 13.3″ and MacBook Pro 15.4″ or 17″ and are available in multiple colors including black, pink and green. They are made of a lightweight material which features a 4-side, high-density foam protection system and a faux-suede interior. A retractable handle and back slip pocket are also built in.

U-Suit Case for Non-Existent iPod?

iPod case manufacturer releases case for new video iPod before its announcedAccording to iLounge, a manufacturer named Uniea that makes cases for Apple products such as iPods and MacBook’s has now released a U-Suit branded case for an iPod that has not been announced yet..

The advertisement says the case is designed for the “New iPod” and bears the short, fat design that we’ve seen in a number of the rumored pictures. According to the report, the case “features a soft leather exterior, hard plastic interior with scratch-resistant inner lining, and a front hole sized for a roughly 2.3-inch screen and iPod nano-sized Click Wheel.” Maybe that screen won’t be too small to watch video’s on?
