This Russian antique brewery PC case mod is awesomely steampunk and completely over-the-top. It’s hard to find the words to describe such a beast. Apparently this thing can fill your mug with beer. Though we have no idea how it works.

Steampunk, beer, modding…What’s not to love? And it’s been outfitted with plenty of lights so the party never has to stop. This is the way to do a project. A mod just isn’t a mod unless the endgame is serving beer.

The last time we saw this much circuit board on the outside of a mod, it was my very own Atari-Hero guitar mod. So right away this caught my attention.

Modder Frenkie designed this glow-in-the-dark case mod that features strips of circuit board to give it the scorpion-inspired look. Dubbed Sting, the case features a custom cut PCB boards pattern all over the body. It looks deadly. If you’re going to build something, make it stand out and have a life of its own. Make it look like it can sting the hell out of you.

It’s Ripley’s console of choice. She plays it while wearing a Mech-suit just in case she has to hurl it out into space. Granted, it should feature a baby alien popping out of it’s chest somewhere, but it’s still a pretty awesome mod. We have the perfect furniture to accompany it.

This beast was created with super heated epoxy putty, that was sculpted and cooled. When the material cools it becomes as hard as metal, so it’s permanently creepy.

Who knew that Wall-E ran on Windows XP? That’s how modder Jonathan Berg enviosioned it when he put together this Wall-E PC mod that features a 7-inch touchscreen monitor inside his boxy stomach.

He did a great job with detail, but it’s kinda shocking to see the bot looking so clean and brand new. Wall-E is made from custom cut Plexiglas, the arms from Logitech speakers, and even sports a webcam behind his eyes. Even cooler, he’s even been outfitted with voice recognition software, so his master can command him by voice.

Jeffrey Stephenson is no stranger to awesome casemods. He’s outdone himself this time however, with this one, dedicated to the Ingraham Cabinet Co., creator of radio cases in the WWII era. The Ingraham case mod is walnut-clad (though veneered) just like the originals he was inspired by, featuring a hand-built basswood frame layered on a mini-ITX SilverStone case.

Check out the polished chrome knob on the front from an Arlen Ness catalog, perched atop a final retro flourish: a Firewire 400 port. under the hood, things are less art deco and more modern: a VIA VB8001 motherboard, a 1.6GHz Nano processor, 4GB of DDR2 memory, and a 64GB SSD.

This Battlestar Galactica case mod is a pretty impressive bit of geek creativity. Look at the detail. It sports a landing bay, running lights, engine pods and a nice paint job. Some of it’s features include three 2.5-inch LCD screens, a 10-inch LCD on the left side panel and an automatic right side panel door/airlock.

In front there’s a laser-cut acrylic Battlestar Galactica logo mounted to a DVD drive. You can see the disc spinning inside. What, no Viper or Cylon base-star mouse to kill your hand? Check out some videos below.

Atari and Nintendo seem to get all the glory when it comes to case mods, but there are those out there with a love of Colecovision as well. Probably those who love to play the Smurf game. This mini ColecoVision does everything the original console did, it’s just smaller. A full 50 square inches smaller and 1 pound lighter to be exact.

In addition to shrinkage, the modder also gave it some upgrades. Like composite, S-Video and RCA audio jacks. It also boasts an “intro skip” button that will let you skip past those annoying loading screens on Coleco games. The console includes a refurbished ColecoVision hand controller, a Donkey Kong game cartridge, a power supply, and a six foot, gold-plated, A/V cable. If you can’t live without this thing, you till have 9 hours. It’s currently bid up to $374.99.

The Wii has changed the face of gaming with it’s interactive motion controls. So much so, that every other console has begun work on their own version. Just as the Wii has changed gaming, gamers are constantly changing the Wii console itself, giving it all kinds of personalities. Here’s a look at some of our favorites.

What’s a nerd to do when one day you wake up and realize that there’s no woman in your life and there likely never will be? You create your own woman, that’s what! One who will carry your PC on her back like Luke carrying Yoda.

If that’s not creepy enough, make sure you take plenty of pictures of the project, and I mean planty, detailing every stage of it’s construction and adding to the overall flavor of desperation and geek excitement. That’s what Katsuya Matsumura did. His gal is party in the front and PC in the back. Say what you will about a perv and his PC, you don’t have one.

Whether built by King Tut himself or the work of an ancient alien civilization, this is surely proof of alien intervention. The detail is just too amazing. There’s no way they could have done it. And the fact that an ancient PC case has been unearthed…

This work of art was built from nothing by Chris Kramer a.k.a “Jadragon”, and is called the EgyptMod PC. There’s some amazing detail, like hieroglyphics, fake jewels and an awesome aged look. Check out the Eye of Ra made of brass and inlaid with polished malachite and verisite. The project took over 200 hours of carving and he never once wavered and cried out for his mummy. It’s a truly inspiring creation.

This awesome NES casemod might be one of the smallest ever. The builder managed to squeeze a fully-functional NES console into the body of a single NES game cartridge. The Fami-Card began life as an original Super Mario Brothers cartridge. French modder Kotomi went to town and ripped out the guts, transplanting them with the innards of a NOAC (NES on a Chip) system clone.

This new small console has an NES cartridge slot, power and reset buttons, a pair of joystick ports and composite video and stereo audio outputs. It’s pretty amazing seeing a cartridge play a cartridge.

Check out this PC case mod. This liquid-cooled motorcycle computer works best when stationary, which sucks because I’d like to zoom down the street and blog at the same time, despite any pedestrian’s dwindling screams behind me.

It was built by Russian casemodder Dennis Ilyin (a.k.a. “Xooler”), and was the first runner up in an NVIDIA-sponsored case building contest. If anyone in TV land is listening, this guy needs his own show where he builds a different case mod every week. And they must be drivable.

This is probably the coolest case mod I’ve ever seen. Surprisingly, it beats the R2-D2 cake for R2 related geek stuff I want. There doesn’t seem to be any real information about how the guy made it or what he used, but I’m assuming he is part Jawa and just scavenged parts as he roamed across the desert, bartering with moisture farmers.

There’s a ton of nice attention to detail and I don’t see any restraining bolt, so maybe this thing can roam around his house. Of course, if you had an R2 unit, you would need to childproof all the electrical outlets, so he isn’t having sex with them while you’re at work. I bet he isn’t even lonely without C-3PO at all. Goldenrod is a prissy droid, with an overactive mouth. Where as R2 is a true geek’s droid companion.
