Canton is adding three new loudspeakers to its flagship line of Reference speakers. These new models, the Reference 5.2, 7.2 and 9.2, price for around $10,000, $7,000 and $4,000 per pair, respectively.

The Reference 5.2 and Reference 7.2 are three-way floor standing loudspeakers, and the Reference 9.2 is a two-way monitor speaker designed for pedestal mounting. Canton says these speakers are most notable for their aluminum oxide ceramic dome tweeters. This offers “a smaller dome radius and significant improvements in power handling and distortion characteristics.”

Canton Reference 3.2 DC

Canton is now shipping it said its first flagship “Reference” line of high-end loudspeakers. This particular model is the Canton Reference 3.2 DC and you’ll find it retailing around $16,000 per pair.

The Canton Reference 3.2 DC, according to its maker, includes the first use of the company’s new ceramic dome tweeter and TCC (Triple Curve Cone) midrange and bass drivers. The loudspeaker is a large floor-standing three-way bass reflex system, with the enclosue housing a two-chamber “monocoque structure with curved side panels formed of five pressure-laminated layers of acoustically inert fiber-board.”

Canton Chrono 511The folks over at Canton really love to do up classy speakers which push our credit cards towards the limit. The latest are the Chrono 511 DC tower and the compact Chrono 501 on-wall speaker, priced a little more reasonably at around $1,400 and $425, respectively.

Canton said both speakers make use of the “ADT-25 aluminum-manganese dome tweeter. The tweeter employs a one-piece aluminum-manganese dome and voice coil former.” What this reportedly does is provide better sound performance.

Canton updates Karat speakers

Canton is pumping new life into its high-end Karat loudspeakers with the introduction of six new models. The new Canton Karat 795 DC, 790 DC, 770 DC, 755 DC, 730 DC and 720 replace, respectively, the previous Karat 711 DC, 709 DC, 707 DC, 705 DC, 703 DC and 702 models. Prices range from $2,400 per speaker for the top-of-the-line Karat 795 DC, to $600 each for the two-way Karat 720.

Canton has said its new Karat speakers “incorporate upgraded drivers and crossovers, subtly refined cabinet aesthetics, and new high-gloss finish options.” One example of the technology upgrade “is a refinement in the integration between the tweeter and midrange drivers accomplished through improvements in the aluminum diaphragm, soft rubber surround, and associated crossover circuits of the midrange drivers used throughout the line.”

Canton Vento Reference 9 DCCanton is a German loudspeaker manufacturer out with a new two-way compact loudspeaker from its flagship line. The Canton Vento Reference 9 DC is available now for a spendy $4,000 a pair.

The Canton Vento Reference 9 DC speakers certainly look cool with its curves and either silver or black hand-rubbed piano lacquer finishes. The two-way design of these speakers are formed from six layers of acoustically inert fiberboard and house a one-inch dome tweeter made from an alloy of aluminum and manganese as well as a seven-inch aluminum cone woofer.
