LG has announced the EzSign TV 42LD452B 42-inch Hybrid TV for the South Korean market. This TV is designed for schools, offices, cafes, restaurants and hospitals, where it will hopefully provide an easy-to-use interface to help you manipulate data.

It can display advertisements, information and broadcast content all on the same screen, which should attract customers and get people’s attention. I got mine already with the imported beer for just $5 up there.

Nintendo has already promised its next-gen console will make its debut at E3, and rumors continue to circulate about just what this “Wii 2″ can do, and what Nintendo will call it. “Wii” was odd, but what about simply “Nintendo”?

According to Game Informer, “Nintendo” is supposedly among the current frontrunners for names. Nihon Keizai Shinbun confirms the talk of a 6-inch touchscreen, along with a camera and its own internal power source. That will allow it to be used as a standalone gaming device, while the camera can also be used to create an avatar. Sounds good so far. We will know more shortly.

Well we already suspected as much, but Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned that his teams will be able to use a lot of the work done on titles for the current HD consoles when developing for Nintendo’s new platform. Guillemot says, “So we will not have to redo completely the games that we create. We’ll be able to use all the capacity the console is giving but also use all the work we do for the other platforms.”

Good news for them and it’s not a surprise, but it does confirm that Nintendo’s next console will be as powerful or more powerful than the current generation of HD consoles. Yes, it should be a great console. Then again these are the same people who released the Wii with only 480p, so who knows.

Kotaku’s sources claim that the new 8-button controller has a 6.2 inch screen, two analog sticks, and a camera. The new Wii console (right now known as the Wii 2, Wii HD, or just “Project Cafe”) is said to support the new controller as well as Wii Remote-style controllers for backward compatibility.

So why does the controller need a giant display? Well it would give you some options like putting the player’s inventory or map on the controller screen, allowing players to combine it with the controller’s camera to take photos that could be imported into a game or even turning the controller into a viewfinder. Sounds interesting, that’s for sure. Think of it as the lower screen on a DS, with your TV being the top screen.

Hercules has a new range of eCAFE netbooks in the eCAFE Slim HD and the eCAFE EX HD. They are both ultra portable, and the EX HD will deliver up to 13 hours of usage. Both feature a Cortex A8 processor, with Linux as the OS.

They also have 512MB of RAM and 8GB of storage in the eCAFE Slim HD or 16GB of storage in the eCAFE EX HD, plus 50GB of online storage. Both feature a 10.1 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Ethernet, three USB 2.0 ports and a mini USB port.

TomTom has announced another way to customize your GPS device to suit your tastes and stand out from the crowd. It’s a new program called My Custom TomTom GPS. Buyers can choose from a library of stock images that can be printed onto the outside of their GPS device. You can even upload your own photos to be printed onto your device.

So you can actually have pics of your kids, pets, vacation photos or whatever you want on your GPS device. You can also upload digital content like voices and POI databases to go with your design. The custom printing is done by CafePress but the GPS devices can only be ordered directly from TomTom.

Intel has been busy spending serious money over the last few months to expand its reach. The chipmaker bought security firm McAfee not long ago. Intel has now made an offer for Infineon’s Wireless Solutions Business.

The deal is reportedly worth about $1.4 billion and has been approved by the boards of both Intel and Infineon. The business Intel covets is called WLS and the deal is expected to close in Q1 2011. Before the purchase can be final, it has to be approved by regulators.

Intel and McAfee are both very well known names in the technology world. Intel makes the processors that power just about everything you can think of from computers to set top boxes. McAfee is famous for its line of software that protects computers from viruses and other attacks.

Intel has announced today that it has made an offer to purchase McAfee and that McAfee’s board unanimously voted to accept the offer. The deal has Intel paying $48 per share in cash for McAfee stock with the total for the deal amounting to $7.68 billion.

How do you get people to buy bloatware in this day and age? Well, you definitely have to try a new gimmick. Maybe by bundling software packages onto a USB drive or SD card. That’s exactly what PC Treasures is doing with their Netbook Software Suite.

McAfee has had some problems of late. A security update sent Windows XP computers everywhere crashing down in a way that has never happened before with anti-virus software. Now it’s time for the company to take some steps to make it up to their customers.

The company is handing out a free two-year subscription extension to all affected customers and they will soon start a program to reimburse some expenses that customers incurred in repairing their PCs. It will apparently be starting in the next few days.

Remember back in February when that retailer allowed google into their shop to take pictures of the place? Well, as it turns out, Google really does have plans to make easier for you to check out stores from your computer.

With Google Places, you can check out the interior of places like restaurants, cafes, hotels, spas, salon, gyms and retail stores, all from your computer. The pictures are taken by Google photographers who arrange a photo shoot with the business owners. Right now Google is running a trial in about 30 cities across the US, Australia and Japan.

Looks like a bad McAfee update for Windows XP has shut down thousands, maybe even millions of computers around the world. Uh oh. The news is all over Twitter and apparently California sent an email to state workers a warning them of the problem.

Engadget says that “DAT update 5958 deletes the svchost.exe file, which then triggers a false-positive in McAfee itself and sets off a chain of uncontrolled restarts and loss of networking functionality.”

The Windows 7 Cafe is open. It looks like a cool place to kick back in and they only sell food so you won’t be pressured to buy gear. It’s a great idea as it may just win Microsoft more customers. Like they need them.

The netbook market is getting very crowded today with companies that don’t even make computers getting in on the segment. That means that many of netbooks out there are the same machine with different brand names. The latest non-computer maker to get into the netbook market is Hercules.

Hercules is a company more known for its line of gaming peripherals than anything else. The firm has announced its new eCafe EC-1000W netbook will ship in October for $399. The netbook has a cool design with a lid different from anything else on the market.
