We don’t know what it is, but we want one

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on August 17th, 2009

We don't know what it is, but we want oneWe have almost zero info on this beauty, but it has us drooling like a rabid dog. It’s a little touchscreen device that’s running Android and looks like it’s about 4.5 inches by 4 inches, like a larger version of the iPhone. Looks like it has two buttons on the top of the device and SD storage.

It may be a prototype. We don’t know who makes it or if it will even be for sale. Hopefully we’ll learn more about this device soon. If it’s real and the price is good, this could be a pretty neat open-source tablet. It’s sexy no?

The Google-G0: How Android could take on the iPhone

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 6th, 2009

The Google-G0: How Android could take on the iPhoneWe’re no stranger to shiny touchscreen phone concepts, but here’s one that we’d really love to see in production. It’s designed by Taiwan’s Tryi Yeh and called the Google-G0. It’s both a touchscreen phone and a slider, with four large navigation buttons for quick access to your email, web browsing and more. The buttons change to fit your needs, depending on what you’re currently doing. Speakers and a camera are on the back.

It’s really slick and sexy. With some interest features. This is the kind of thing that can givethe iPhone a run for it’s money. Apparently the functionality continues when you plug it into the charger. For instance the image of the dock makes it look like it will let you watch TV on your phone, or use your G0 like a remote.

2-in-1 flying mouse, wiimote

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on May 14th, 2009

2-in-1 flying mouse, wiimoteThis is the 2-in-1 mouse BTLS90 by Filco. It can’t decide what it wants to be. It features a gyro sensor so you can use it either on a desk or in the air like Wiimote. It doesn’t actually fly, unless you waving it around counts as flight. The mouse features an 800dpi resolution along with a USB-rechargeable 550mAh internal battery.

It isn’t much of a looker is it? I mean, it’s like a blue/black wiimote just swallowed a TV remote snake style and now it’s in for a long digestive process. It has a rather large butt too. The design team must have struggled for hours to figure out a way to make consumers stay away at all costs.

Kyocera EOS phone is sexy, with a flexible OLED screenKyocera is gazing into the future of cell phones with this EOS phone. We like what we see. A whole lot. Even if this is but a dream. The flexible OLED display lets you fold it up like a wallet, which is pretty convenient. The shape-memory buttons will pop out from their flush position when you need them, like magic.

The most interesting aspect is its kinetic energy power. It works like a self-winding watch, so you always have juice, or so it would appear. The Kyocera EOS was created by industrial designer Susan McKinney, who likes to take long walks in the future, then show us what she saw.

Laptop concepts aimed at women

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on March 30th, 2009

Laptop concepts aimed at womenNikita Buyanov made a bunch of concept laptops for HP-Intel, custom made specifically for women. The laptops come with a range of interesting features, aimed at the fairer sex. There’s some crazy stuff. Like laptops that double as weighing machines, some that carry makeup, with features like mirror mode and a built-in on-nail printing device. The Chameleon, for instance, changes color to blend with its surroundings.

The one that would likely be most offensive to women is pictured above, HP Makeup. It’s obscenely pink and if you press the big button, the screen will change to mirror mode so they can apply makeup. It also has an on-nail printing device.

LEDit app for iPhone & iPod Touch

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2009

LEDit app for iPhone & iPod Touch LEDit is a led screen ticker emulator app available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. It seems pretty silly at first, but when you think about it, it’s a pretty useful tool to have. Whether you’re in a noisy place like a nightclub or a silent place like library, you can use it to send others a message instead of yelling or whispering.

Just type in the message and hit the “display message” button and LEDit will scroll the message on the screen. It even vibrates to tell you when message has finished scrolling. You can customize text color, speed and set it to repeat.

Apple’s multitouch Mighty Mouse with aluminum finish

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on December 21st, 2008

Apple’s multitouch Mighty Mouse with aluminum finishApple’s Mighty Mouse already offers a 360-degree scrolling capability with a multi-button interface. We really didn’t think there was much room for improvement. That’s because MacBlogz has done all of the thinking for us, creating this simple yet elegant prototype of how a multitouch Mighty Mouse might look.

It’s aluminum and its profile is kinda sexy. The scroll ball on the Mighty Mouse has been a problem for most users, so this design makes a lot of sense and should this concept mouse actually make it into production some day, users will be very happy campers.

Silverstone introduces the carbon fiber Raven gaming mouse

Posted in Computer Components, gaming accessories by Shane McGlaun on October 7th, 2008

Silverstone Raven Gaming MouseI have covered a myriad of gaming mice here over the months and one thing most all gaming mice have in common is that they are all wired. Gamers don’t really want wireless products because of the lag they introduce. A new gaming mouse from a name that computer enthusiasts will probably recognize is now available.

The mouse is called the Silverstone Raven. Raven has adjustable sensitivity from 400 to 3200 DPI and connects to the PC via a USB cord. Adjustments to sensitivity are made with the rotating thumb button on the side. 3200 DPI isn’t as high a resolution you can find in gaming mice, the Razer Lachesis will do 4000 DPI, but 3200 is enough for most gamers.
