Zippo lighter with a built-in gun inside

Posted in Weapons by Conner Flynn on July 25th, 2011

If you light your smoke with this Zippo you are likely to get a mini bullet in the face. This Zippo is packing a miniature gun inside that actually fires. Those copper-cased 6mm cartridges will be fired out of a barrel, in place of the usual wick.

Just roll the flint striking wheel and it acts as the trigger. Too bad this isn’t an official Zippo product, then again, if it was, there would be a lot of smokers shooting themselves in the face.

Revolver Camera shoots a bullet, takes a picture

Posted in Weapons by Conner Flynn on May 19th, 2011

Photographers who also like to shoot guns will love this weapon. This weapon fires bullets and takes pictures at the same time. It was apparently used in 1938 in New York. The gun is a Colt 38 and it had a tiny camera attached to it that was controlled by the trigger.

We don’t have much more information than that, but it’s impressive. One thing is for sure, you don’t want to be in these pictures. Good thing nobody else got their hands on it. I can easily imagine some whack job firing away at people and posting the pics online. Yeah, this is not a good combination here.

Automatic weapon gets FPS-style ammo counter

Posted in Weapons by Conner Flynn on February 1st, 2011

You’ve seen all of the ammo counters on the various shooters that you’ve played and now a similar ammo counter is available for automatic weapons, thanks to a DIY project by Michael Ciuffo. So now when out on the firing range, you can be aware of your ammo situation just like in the games.

An accelerometer detects the gun’s recoil and keeps count, so it can be calibrated for different weapons. Michael has received enough enquiries about this that he is going to start producing it for the mass market soon.

Wii and Kinect join forces for Call of Duty

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on January 13th, 2011

You could play Call of Duty with the keyboard and mouse or your gamepad controller, or you could go all out and use a Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Kinect, configure your PC to support them both, and then load up Call of Duty.

That’s what Demize2010 on YouTube did and it sure looks immersive. He uses the Wii controllers to shoot and move, while he modified the Kinect so he could lean around a corner, jump and crouch. Now he just needs some Hollywood squibs for when he gets hit by bullets.

HTC Droid Incredible takes a bullet

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on January 10th, 2011

John Garber, an employee at Club Halo in Atlanta, was shot outside his club, but don’t worry this story has a happy ending. Thanks to a bit of luck and his HTC Incredible, he is alive. The HTC Incredible was in his breast pocket and saved his life.

He will no doubt be an HTC fan for life. Though while his HTC took a bullet for him, some would say that the trade off might be radiation instead, since he had it in his breast pocket, but regardless he is glad he had it there.

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on December 12th, 2010

Working in an office can be dangerous. Sometimes people just snap and before you know it there’s gunfire. Be prepared for the next office shootout with this Bulletproof Clipboard. Ok, this clipboard from Ballistic Systems is not for the office.

It’s designed for law enforcement officials and the boards come in either 9” x 12” or 9” x 14” and start at $30. It may seem silly, but law enforcement needs all the protection they can get. It might just save some lives in addition to bullet proof vests.

Real Murder XBox 360 controller is gruesome

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on September 19th, 2010

Maybe video games aren’t so violent. This controller is far more frightening than any game I’ve ever played. The Real Murder Controller is an Xbox 360 controller which is covered in bloodsplatters. The right stick is even soaked in blood and it even has a set of 9mm bullet ABXY buttons.

There’s also a special 8-mode rapid fire modification. I guess with this controller it really feels like you have been in a fight. The Real Murder Controller is $125 of ugly and violence in the palm of your hand.

Devon Works Tread 1 bulletproof watch

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on April 20th, 2010

Man, this is one awesome looking watch. It has a ton of amazing detail. But looks aren’t all the Devon Works Tread 1 has going for it. It’s also the first bulletproof watch we’ve ever seen. Perfect if bad guys are aiming at your wrist. Though I suppose the impact would still shatter your wrist. It won’t protect you where it counts.

How much would you pay for a bullet-proof watch? Well, you’ll have to pay $15,000 if you want this one. I suppose you could do the Wonder Woman thing and deflect bullets with this thing, just know that it is still gonna hurt.

Moonwatch, the Werewolf’s new best friend

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on April 8th, 2010

One of the problems with being a werewolf, aside from the fact that you change once a month and go on a killing spree, is that it’s a pain to keep track of the lunar cycle. What if you forget to mark it on a calendar? Well, the Moonwatch will show you the time either by hour or by phase of the moon, so you’ll never be caught off guard again.

That way if you want, you can lock yourself in a cage ahead of time. The rest of us thank you ahead of time for being a responsible Werewolf and using this watch, which is not available yet, but hopefully soon.

Hublot Liberty Bullet Pocket Watch

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on March 20th, 2010

Your pocket watch isn’t nearly as manly as the Hublot bullet pocket watch. It’s soon to be number one with a bullet on the pocket watch charts. It’s called “Liberty” and houses a Tourbillon. You can even wear it as a bracelet or pendant.

There is a titanium bullet head and a black aluminum base. Hublot isn’t condoning war as far as we know. Just trying to appeal to those who want a more manly form for their pocket watch. You can own one and still give peace a chance.
