We love multi-tools. Probably because they are like Transformers, but with tools instead of bots. This one looks like a weird robot-tool crab in the pic. The Micro-Max tool transforms into not two or three, but nineteen different useful tools. With this one you get six different screwdrivers, two hex wrenches, a bottle opener, pliers, file, and wire tools. These are perfect for DIY junkies. But at only $13 I’m not sure it will last you long. Still, it’s a nice cheap way to ensure that you always have tools on your person.

Joining such USB drives as the Aigo and the bottle opener USB drive, here’s another that’s actually useful for more then just holding data. The eraser flash drive. Because sometimes you gotta, you know, erase stuff.

Making USB drives that function in other ways seems to be all the rage. While this one won’t open a cold one, the Aigo USB flash drive you see here features an odd cap to protect the USB connector. No, this USB drive doesn’t double as a baby pacifier, but good guess. The cap is shaped like an apple and doubles up as a paperclip. I’m not sure anyone needs a paperclip so badly that they must have one on their USB drive, but what do I know. It’s available in 2GB and 4GB capacities, and retails for $18 and $28, respectively.

Completing the USB flash drive trifeca for this evening is the TrekStor drive/bottle opener. Since you already have a USB drive and you probably already have a bottle opener, why not combine the two? How many times have you found yourself opening bottle after bottle, getting blitzed while moving data around? More times then you can remember since it’s all a foggy haze.

Seems like the new generation of multi-tools have some odd designs. Much like the Spyderco Byrdwrench, the Lil’ Guppie (doesn’t that sound like what the skipper would call Gilligan in an underwater Gilligan’s Island show?) has an odd look.

The Lil’ Guppie is tiny enough to fit on your keychain, but super versatile still. The adjustable wrench can open up pretty wide for it’s size, and it’s tininess is actually an asset, letting you get into all kinds of tight areas. It also sports a razor-sharp blade inside, and it’s tail is a flat-blade screwdriver bit. Need a Phillips head? It conveniently slips right out from inside. Of course it wouldn’t be a multi-tool without a bottle opener, so it performs that duty as well.

Chances are if you have this Star Trek Enterprise bottle opener lying around your home, you probably don’t have many female friends coming over for sleepovers. I believe this particular Enterprise with the oval hole in the saucer section is inspired from that episode where Shatner’s ego blew a hole in the command deck. The same episode where Bones said, “Damnit Jim, I’m a doctor not a Tribble vet aboard a floating bottle opener.”

Obviously, if you’re a Trekkie that likes beer you’ll want to spend the $24 to open your beer with this tiny starship, get drunk, then have a toy to play with.

You would think that constantly emptying your bladder would be some indication.
