Xbox 360 Media Remote

The Xbox 360 Media Remote has been announced. Media playback controls include all of the usual like play/pause, skip forward, fast forward, skip back, fast back, and display to control DVD, CD, or streamed media.

As far as TV controls, there’s power on/off, volume up/down, mute and TV input. So it’s pretty much your standard remote with some XBox flare. The menu navigation controls include A, B, X, Y buttons, D-pad navigation, back and select. It will be available for $19.99 in early November.

BlueAnt usually offers voice-controlled earpieces, but now they are getting ready to ship a wired headset called the Embrace. These on-ear headphones look pretty comfortable with their leather pads, integrated mic, and iPhone-compatible controls that will allow you to make calls and play, pause, and skip audio tracks.

The Embrace has a 69-inch cable, and comes a 3.5mm-to-6.3mm adapter and case. They should ship in a few weeks and will cost you $199.

Looxcie wearable camcorder looks like a Bluetooth headset

Wearable camcorders are nothing new, neither are wearable spy cameras. This one is disguised as a Bluetooth headset. It is called the Looxcie 2. This sequel to the original is half the size and sheds some weight as well.

The two versions of the Looxcie 2 that are available are 4GB and 8GB capacities. They can record videos at resolutions of 320 or 480. Rumor is that it may also support iCloud. The 4GB version will give you five hours of recording for $180, while the 8GB one will give you ten hours for $199.

MTS 1055 Android Tablet for Russia

MTS has just released their newest Android tablet for the Russian market. The MTS 1055 features a 7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive multitouch display, a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), and a 3.0-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Other features include an FM tuner, GPS, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, a microUSB port, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 3400mAh battery and Android 2.2 Froyo is running the show. The MTS 1055 will cost you 13,000 Rubles ($465 American).

HP TouchPad Pricing and Availability

HP’s CEO Leo Apotheker has confirmed at the latest HP Summit that the TouchPad will be available starting in June of 2011. The device will be released in the US first, with global availability following soon after. To refresh your memory, the WebOS 3.0-powered tablet features a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768) multi-touch capacitive display, and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor.

Other specs include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, an accelerometer, a light sensor, A-GPS (3G modes only), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a micro-USB port, 3.5mm headset jack and a 6300mAh battery. The HP TouchPad is priced starting at $499.

Samsung has announced the Modus 6450 Bluetooth headset. It can be used as a mono-style headset or as a stereo Bluetooth headset since it has a second earbud that can be plugged in. It has Android application support, features voice command functionality, EQ settings, a separate Voice Command button on the headset and dual microphones to support the noise-cancellation feature.

The Modus 6450 supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, active pairing, advanced multipoint and multiconnection technology and also offers up to 6-hours of talk time and up to 180-hours of standby time.

Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5 gaming headset

Turtle Beach’s latest will be offered at CES in glorious 7.1 Dolby surround sound. The Ear Force PX5 is designed for Sony’s PlayStation 3, but you can use it with the Xbox 360 or any other audio source you like. It is wireless and features dual radios, one for surround sound, and another for chatting on PSN via Bluetooth.

You can also use the BT feature to accept mobile phone calls or listen to audio streams. As a bonus, it also supports voice morphing, which many gamers love, while other gamers find it very annoying. It should be available in the Spring for $249.95.

Hexound headset can be turned into speakers

The Hexound headset’s design is definitely drool-worthy. It’s just a concept for now, but we sure hope they become real. The headset can be detached and then they are turned into portable speakers. There’s also a solar panel in the headband.

Other specs include Bluetooth and intuitive controls. With these, you can listen to your music alone or share it whenever the mood strikes you, just by detaching. Hopefully these become real one day soon. I know I would buy them.

Samsung is unleashing a special Luxury edition of its Galaxy Tab that will cost $1,000.00. For that price you get an exclusive leather case to carry the tablet in and a Bluetooth headset in addition to the stock Galaxy Tab. That’s it.

That’s right. There isn’t any gold or silver or even a single Swarovski crystal anywhere. We aren’t even sure if it will be the 3G-capable version. If this is a Wi-Fi-only model, you better pass on this one.
