More BlackBerry 9800 slider pictures emerge

This isn’t the first time that pictures of the upcoming BlackBerry 9800 slider have shown up, but so far they’ve been blurry. Now however, we have some pretty good looking images of the device, which give us a much better idea of the device.

Now you can clearly see the SIM card slot and memory card slots. The pics are good enough to give you an idea whether you want the BlackBerry 9800 slider when it’s released, or not.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 gets the Colorware treatment

RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 9800 may not be all that we had hoped it would be, but that doesn’t matter to the folks at Colorware. They will color it up no matter what your feelings on the device are. And we have to admit, it looks pretty decent in the color scheme above.

It’s available to customize anyway you want for $250 or it will cost you $1,050 to buy new. You make the call.

If you love your Blackberry, then it must really hurt to see teardown photos. Sometimes it takes a strong stomach. Let’s hope they were gentle. Even though BlackBerry’s Torch 9800 was just announced a little while ago, we already have the teardown.

Some folks just like to dissect gadgets and some folks like to watch. Nothing wrong with that. We don’t judge. The video below details the slider mechanism in action, which is rated for over 150,000 cycles.

Most BlackBerry users plan to defect to iPhone or Android

Nielsen put out some interesting smartphone numbers today. There’s the usual market share numbers that put Google, RIM, and Apple at 27 percent, 33 percent, and 23 percent in sales to new smartphone subscribers. But more interesting are the numbers having to do with brand loyalty.

Those numbers don’t look good for BlackBerry. Here’s how it breaks down. 89 percent of iPhone owners plan on getting another iPhone, while 71 percent of Android buyers plan to re-buy, but only 42 percent of BlackBerry owners plan to stick around.

BlackBerry 6 teased in new video

Rumors had previously said that the first batch of BlackBerry 6-powered devices could launch as early as last month, but obviously we don’t yet have them in hand. So why not enjoy the video below which shows off some new features?

RIM just published this official YouTube video on the BlackBerry 6 and it shows off features like aggregated social network integration, universal search and the all-new WebKit-based browser. The video shows 6 running only on full touchscreen phones, so it’s becoming more obvious that we will see this launch on the rumored 9800 or something very similar.
