RIM launches BlackBerry 6 platform |
It’s been teased since way back in April, but RIM has finally unveiled all the details on its BlackBerry 6 operating system. The software features a whole mess of updates, most notably new universal search functionality, social network aggregation, WiFi-powered media sync with your desktop music collection, and an all-new WebKit-based browser with support for HTML5.
RIM has also committed to bringing BlackBerry 6 as an upgrade to some of their recent models like the Bold 9700, Bold 9650, and Pearl 3G “subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead.”

So you’ve put off that purchase of a Blackberry, right? You’ve been waiting for a deal. Well, don’t wait any longer than next week. That’s when Walmart shoppers will be given a $100 gift card if they purchase nearly any BlackBerry phone on a 2-year contract from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless.
When it comes to smartphone most of them have the same bar or PDA style form factor. Those preferring to use a clamshell style phone don’t have many options with the current crop of smartphones. Clamshells are preferred by some people because they are more compact.
If you’re a fan of Verizon you’ll be happy to know that the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 will be with the carrier soon. It’s the first clamshell BlackBerry, so it looks a little strange, but it’s a good solid phone that’s been available for a few months from other carriers.
We didn’t see this one coming. Boy Genius has uncovered some pics and specs on a new Nokia flip that’s destined for AT&T. It’s super secret codename? “Wahoo”. Damn they’re creative. This quad-band clamshell has an interesting half-QWERTY keypad, internal 2.2-inch QVGA display, 1.36-inch external unit, push-to-talk, microSD expansion, and A2DP support. It sports a form-factor that’s similar to the BlackBerry Pearl Flip. Nothing on a release date. Wa-freakin-hoo.

The BlackBerry Pearl has been coming out in a number of new

Verizon went ahead and unleashed four new phones all at once targeted at the fall shopping season trying to get a share of AT&T’s iPhone dollars. The new lineup includes the Voyager and Venus from LG along with the narrow Samsung Juke and the Blackberry Pearl sporting EV-DO.
T-Mobile has launched an additional selection of colors available for the BlackBerry Pearl which are now available through their website. The three new colors available consist of Sunset red, Gold and Blue in addition to the original Black or White 8100 models.
Here’s a look at the latest design in smartphones from Samsung called the Samsung i620. The i620 is a slider style design which exposes a full QWERTY keyboard with slid up and makes for a very attractive looking style.
T-Mobile along with Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled a new “Pearl White” BlackBerry Pearl mobile phone yesterday that will be available through T-Mobile.
