Hands on: ifrogz Ear Pollution PlugzOne of the most often replaced items in our gadget collection is earbuds. You use a pair for a while and they bite the dust. So when it came time for another pair, I recently gave ifrogz Ear Pollution Plugz earbuds with microphone a try. They are affordable noise canceling earbuds, available in a variety of colors, and they offer some decent style.

They look great and have style. They are also comfortable and if you are like me and have trouble getting earbuds to fit and stay in the ear, they come with three tip sizes that should fit any ear. They feel great and actually block out almost all but the loudest noises around you.

Pogo Stylus for iPhone Review

Posted in Review by Shane McGlaun on May 15th, 2009

pogostylus-sbI really like my iPhone and I have had it since the first generation devices launched. It’s about time for me to upgrade to a new handset and I am just waiting until June to see if any of the rumors about a new iPhone coming are true. Being a married geek one of the caveats of upgrading my gear is that it has to make it through the wife approval o’meter. Scoff all you want single geeks, any married guy will know what I mean. One good way to get the approval on an upgrade for my iPhone is to convince my wife that she should take my current iPhone over her Blackberry, which is honestly nowhere near as good as the iPhone.

The problem is that my wife always wants to use her nails to work the capacitive touchscreen. Anyone who has used an iPhone knows that won’t work. Another big problem for users in cold environments is that you can’t work the iPhone with gloves on. Today we are going to look at the Pogo Stylus for the iPhone that will solve both of these problems. Read on for all the details on the Pogo Stylus for iPhone.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 gets the Colorware treatment

Posted in Curve by Conner Flynn on January 26th, 2009

BlackBerry Curve 8900 gets the Colorware treatmentIt had to happen. If a device is as popular as the BlackBerry Curve 8900, it will get the Colorware treatment sooner or later. Usually sooner. Just like the iPhone 3G, and your DS. So, if you want to beat your precious gadget upside the face with an ugly stick, the folks at Colorware will gladly help.

It doesn’t have to be ugly of course, you can put together something striking I’m sure. Just be certain it’s what you want before you commit. A solid color will run you $129, but if you want a different top, bottom, frame or sides, it will be higher. You could just love your device for who it is, which is the cheapest option and it will love you back. Maybe.

Hands on with the new Olive Palm Centro

Posted in Review by Darrin Olson on December 17th, 2008

Olive Palm Centro hands on reviewA common gift people will give themselves for the holiday season is a new phone. With broadband networks getting faster by the minute, a phone that is smart enough to handle surfing the internet, getting email, supporting IM’s and taking pictures becomes more and more attractive. This holiday season we had the opportunity to take a look at a couple of Palm’s smartphones, and in particular we spent some time with the new Olive-colored Palm Centro.

If you’re in the market for your first smartphone or you’re just looking for something that’s slick and easy to use with broadband access you will be well-served to take a look at the Palm Centro. Palm has been getting some mixed reviews lately when placed against some of the latest in smartphone technology such as RIM’s Blackberry or Apple’s iPhone, but we found the Centro to be a refreshing and fun device, and at just the right price.

G1 and BlackBerry Bold get the Colorware treatment

Posted in BlackBerry by Conner Flynn on November 25th, 2008

G1 and BlackBerry Bold get the Colorware treatmentIf a gadget has sufficiently proven itself and done well in school, won our hearts and minds, it will eventually be rewarded with the chance to get itself the Colorware treatment. That time has come for the G1 and the Bold, and we are very proud, despite not being their parents.

It will cost you $150 to dress up your current T-Mobile handset in technicolor, or the company will ship you a brand new one $725. The BlackBerry Bold will cost $139 and $674 for the makeover. The price is steep sure, but with rave colors like this, you can’t afford not to have your handset match your pacifier and fancy light-sticks.
