MTV Games, Harmonix and EA have come forward with some info today just to tease you until the 09.09.09 launch. Apparently the Limited Edition Premium Bundle will include the game, a Höfner Bass, a microphone, microphone stand, some “additional special content” and… Beatles-inspired, Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drums, with a pearl finish and vintage replica Beatles kick drum head.

The bundle is scheduled to launch worldwide this September, with US price of $249, Europeans will pay €199 and those in the UK will pay £179. As an added and lame bonus, North American and European fans who pre-order any version of the game will be eligible to join the The Beatles: Rock Band Pre-Order Club and “receive breaking news and access to exclusive game elements including art and behind-the-scenes footage directly from MTV Games and Harmonix.”

Fans of both The Beatles and Rock Band have reason to get excited. Very excited. Are you sitting down? MTV Games and Harmonix have just announced a partnership with Apple Corps, Ltd. to bring the band’s music (and instruments) to the Rock Band universe.

The game will apparently premiere with a set of new hardware “modeled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout their career.” If you ceck out the site, there’s a holder page up with a launch date of September 9th, but as soon as we get more info, we’ll pass it on.

When you think Nokia, you think cellphones. But now the cell phone maker is getting into the bench biz. Nokia is setting up musical benches throughout the United Kingdom, in ‘secret locations’, in order to promote their Comes With Music audio service. Each bench will feature three integrated handsets with headphones so passers-by can sample music.

Apparently the track lists will mirror the region where the bench is deployed, so you would get the Beatles in Liverpool and say Black Sabbath in Birmingham. You probably already want to steal the bench since it’s neat and all. You can’t. Each will be under close supervision by a security guard and a “performer”.

It’s been a long wait. A long and winding road if you will. At last, the Beatles iPod is out, with only 2,500 units available. You know you want it. And in these tough economic times, Paul, Ringo, and Yoko need your help. So why not fork out $795. The Limited Edition Ultimate Collector’s Beatles iPod Set comes complete with a wooden box designed by Psycho Bunny, where you can store your 120GB Beatles iPod, 13 original Beatles albums on CD, two masters, the Love CD, and an engraved guitar pick that is surely the pick of destiny.

Uh, hang on a minute here. Anyone wanting a Beatles iPod surely owns all of these CDs anyway, so what gives? I don’t need all of that extra junk for 800 clams. Just give me a decent Beatles iPod. Preferably something with a classic album cover on it.

Okay, so it looks more like a dark mustard. The C-Quester 2 and C-Quester 3 submersibles from U-Boat Worx are like a Smart Car for the ocean. They’ll be shown at the Monaco Yacht Show 2008. The two-person C-Quester 2 is designed to be a new toy for megayachts. In other words a plaything for the filthy rich. The three-person C-Quester 3 can be used by seaside hotels and resorts so guests can have some fun.

Each features a safety buoy, air conditioning, underwater communication, altimeter, sonar, and optional video cameras and tracking systems. The electric C-Questers can even dive up to a depth of 100 meters and they run on a Lithium-Ion battery. The first C-Quester 3 will be available at the end of this year with more scheduled for next spring. Unfortunately drivers have to be trained as a submersible pilot before using. And since there’s no four seater, you won’t see the Beatles while you’re out and about, but maybe a Blue Meanie or two.

You’re having a bad trip dude. No, not really. Maybe. Is it real or is it memorex? This table is really freaking me out. It’s a design by John Nouanesing, who must have hung out with the Beatles during their psychedelic days. I want to quickly get some towels and clean it up. Needless to say, we want one. It will synchronize with your iTunes library on the first use, without any training. It understands requests like “Play some Beatles”, “Give me Rap”, or even “Play me something like the last song”. It costs $159, and the battery lasts for 10 hours, which is plenty of time for you to have talked yourself hoarse, much to the dismay of those around you.

Boy Genius got his hands on a video along with some new pictures of the Sony Ericsson X1 phone. The handset sports a 800 x 480 screen, optical joystick, and HSDPA support. BGR hates the keyboard, saying it’s not absolutely terrible, but one of the worst.

According to a number of UK-based online sources, Paul McCartney has officially worked out a deal to bring the Beatles back-catalog to multiple music download sites including a $400 million agreement with iTunes to offer the tracks. All of the Beatles currently have works available for download through iTunes, but the likely most popular tunes have thus far eluded the mammoth music download service.

According to reports, albums including Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Help and the White Album could be available from iTunes on possibly other online services “within months”. Now that the deal has been worked out, officials for the Beatles are reportedly in the process of creating digital versions of the songs to be available for download.

The solo work of George Harrison has now been added to iTunes making him the last of each of the Beatles to be available through the site, preceded by Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Ringo Star. Unfortunately the Beatles as a group are still not available on iTunes, just the solo work of each artist separately with no word of any Beatles albums as of yet.

Apple iTunes has finally begun offering something that the folks in the UK have been anticipating for some time – iTunes video. The Cupertino-based company recently signed a deal with a number of studios including ABC, the Disney Channel, MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount Comedy to bring video content to the mammoth online media downloading site.

Apple has announced that 16 solo works by John Lennon through EMI are now available for download through iTunes. These songs will also be offered as part of the iTunes Plus program where you can pay an extra 30 cents to get the songs DRM-free and at 256 kbps AAC encoding.

EMI Music has finally fallen in line and taken a big swig of the YouTube/Google kool-aid along with peers Sony BMG, Universal, and Warner by making an agreement with the mammoth video sharing site to show “approved” EMI content. EMI may have ben the last of the “big 4″ to make a deal with YouTube since they were recently consumed with being the first to launch a DRM-free music catalog with Apple.

It looks like Apple did get the EMI catalog out by the end of the month, but barely. Today Apple launched iTunes Plus along with the iTunes 7.2 version release, which is now offering DRM-free music downloads.

For now the songs that are available without the DRM restrictions or only from EMI’s catalog (excluding the Beatles, but including Paul McCartney), but hopefully more labels will follow suit in the near future.
