Apparently other publishing companies have been in talks with Apple as well. Sure, e-book readers are what it’s all about at the moment, but soon after it will be all about being integrated into slates. It’s still unconfirmed and just a rumor, but this one makes logical sense and gels with what we’ve been hearing.

The iPhone Christmas Tree

The iPhone Christmas TreeLet’s say you are really into your iPhone. Let’s say you you worship Steve Jobs. In that case it’s totally understandable to toss out all of the conventional Christmas gear in favor of Apple products. You’ve ditched the nativity in favor of a Macworld diaroma complete with baby Stevus. You hang Apple packaging by the chimney with glee, instead of stockings. You’ve even attached Reindeer antlers to dolls of the Jobs man, pulling a sleigh.

All that’s left is to decorate the tree. Take a cue from the folks over at iPhone Savior, who have decided to decorate their Christmas tree with iPhone decorations and Steve Jobs magazine covers. We suppose you are waiting on the Apple tablet to top the the whole thing off.

New Microsoft Courier video shows tablet interface details

Posted in Microsoft by Conner Flynn on September 29th, 2009

New Microsoft Courier video shows tablet interface detailsMicrosoft’s Courier tablet took us all by surprise. Now an internal video has surfaced showing how Microsoft thinks we’ll use Courier, giving us an overview of the interface and more of Courier’s features. At the core of the Courier is the “infinite journal”, a journal/scrapbook that is endless, presumably bound only by storage. The journal can be published online, and it’s able to be downloaded in three formats: a Courier file, Powerpoint or PDF. There’s also a library where things like subscriptions, notebooks and apps, are stored.

It also shows some more traditional elements like a smart agenda, more defined folder system, universal search and multi-page web browsing. Nothing about viewing content, like watching movies, reading books etc. It looks like Courier is all about creating and writing with a pen, which is not what we are used to, especially when you think about the Apple tablet.

Microsoft’s Secret Courier Tablet Info Leaked

Posted in News,Rumors by Darrin Olson on September 23rd, 2009

Microsoft Courier BookletAccording to a recent report from Gizmodo on Tuesday, Microsoft is confirming rumors that it actually does have a new dual-screen tablet in the works, codenamed Courier. According to the article and a short demo video, the Courier is a real thing and is more like a “booklet” than a tablet as it folds together and has two interactive touch screens side-by-side with loads of fast functionality.

The project has apparently been kept under pretty tight wraps with very few, both inside and outside of Microsoft, with knowledge about it. In fact, rumors are that the team working on the project, led by J. Allard (a designer involved in the Zune and the Xbox) has been kept away from the main Redmond campus to help keep it secret.

We don’t know what it is, but we want one

We don't know what it is, but we want oneWe have almost zero info on this beauty, but it has us drooling like a rabid dog. It’s a little touchscreen device that’s running Android and looks like it’s about 4.5 inches by 4 inches, like a larger version of the iPhone. Looks like it has two buttons on the top of the device and SD storage.

It may be a prototype. We don’t know who makes it or if it will even be for sale. Hopefully we’ll learn more about this device soon. If it’s real and the price is good, this could be a pretty neat open-source tablet. It’s sexy no?

Apple Tablet image leaked?

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on August 15th, 2009

Apple Tablet image leaked? Here’s the latest “leaked” image of Apple’s upcoming tablet. Images hit the net this morning. It’s likely fake, though it comes from a French blog with a decent track record. The image certainly jibes with the iPhone/iPod touch and iMac, and with the rumors we’ve heard. But the thing that jumps out at us is the placement of the home key, which is odd.

You’ll also notice OS X on the display. Analysts have been guessing that the device would run some version of the iPhone OS. What do you think? Fake? Or the real deal?
