Apple launches new iPad dock for the iPad 2

Apple has announced a new line-up of accessories for the second generation iPad, which includes the new HDMI adapter and their new iPad 2 Smart Covers. And there’s also a new dock for the iPad 2, which is designed to work with the new slimmer design on the iPad 2 and it supports other iPad accessories like the iPad Camera Connection kit and the new Apple Digital AV Adapter as well.

As if we didn’t know that there would be new accessories for the latest and greatest Apple products. We are used to the drill by now. Apple haven’t announced pricing yet for the new iPad 2 Dock, but the previous one for the iPad retails for $29.

Apple’s iPad now available in the Philippines

Americans tend to take things for granted and we forget that you can’t get an iPad everywhere in the world. However, it is now available in one more location. The Apple iPad is finally available for purchase in the Philippines.

The company is selling all six models of the iPad on its online store, with prices ranging from PHP 23,990 (around $541) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model to PHP 40,990 (around $924) for the 64GB 3G model. Folks in the Philippines can now enjoy what the iPad has to offer and they can look forward to all of the apps and accessories that will empty their wallet.

Elecom announces a new series of external batteries for Smartphones

We have a ton of features in today’s smartphones and sadly that means more drain on the battery. It’s just a fact of life. As we can do more, battery life is sacrificed. Well, Elecom wants to help.

They have come up with a pocket battery that was specially designed to recharge your smartphone. Inside, it holds a 1600mAh battery that will feature special tips for phones from various manufacturers including Apple, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Hopefully this will hit the US market soon too.

Hex iPod Nano Watch

When Apple released the new iPod Nano, there were several watch strap accessories that turned the new iPod Nano into a watch. This one is from Hex and it is probably the best yet. It looks great. They didn’t just add a watch strap to the iPod Nano, the Hex watch band actually integrates the iPod Nano into the strap, protecting it.

The Hex watch band for the iPod Nano comes in several colors including white, black, blue, silver, orange, green, red, grey and pink for $24.95.

iPad arriving in Walmart stores starting next week?

Way back in May we told you that Walmart would be offering iPads this year and it looks like that is about to happen. A photo of an email sent to Walmart store managers received by MacRumors indicates that the Apple iPad will be rolled out to up to 1000 stores by the end of October, starting next week.

The photos show that Walmart will be offering all six models of the iPad with initial stock limited to just five of each model per store. Never fear, the standard range of iPad accessories will also offered along with AppleCare extended warranties. Sources say that an additional 800 stores will begin carrying the device in November, and each store will have a live demo unit inside a case that will include a looping video demonstration of the iPad in action.

XtremeMac launches Tango TRX dock for iPod and iPad

XtremeMac has all manner of accessories and cases for Apple gear like the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Over the last few months, the company has been rolling out a lot of new audio docks that have some interesting features. The latest new dock from XtremeMac is the Tango TRX and the Tango TRX D.

Both of the versions have the same basic features. The both have a dock built into the main section of the device that charges while music plays. Both have Bluetooth and use 2.1 speakers inside. The speakers include a pair of tweeter, a pair of mid-range drivers, and a single downward firing subwoofer.

Apple Global Supply Manager arrested for taking $1 Million in kickbacks

Apple has had it’s share of problems lately and now an Apple supply manager has been arrested, accused of taking more than $1 million in kickbacks from suppliers of accessories for the iPhone and iPod.

Paul Shin Devine allegedly used his position at Apple to supply about half a dozen Asian suppliers with information which put them in a better position to receive Apple contracts. Devine allegedly used several foreign bank accounts and a false company called ‘CPK Engineering’ to process the payments, and he is now in the custody of US Marshalls.

Axon Haptic Tablet designed for OS X

Apple might not be offering an OS X tablet, but Axon Logic is now taking pre-orders for its Haptic tablet, which is apparently suitable for hackintosh Mac OS X installations. The company does officially warn against installing OS X, due to licensing restrictions, but the tablet is said to be specifically designed for compatibility with any Darwin-based operating system, like Apple’s Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X.

It’ll cost you $750, and you’ll need to purchase your own operating system like Windows or OS X, and the company also offers accessories like a CDMA 3G card, USB Bluetooth dongle, Bluetooth GPS receiver and some others.

Scosche offers new iPhone 4 cases and films

Scosche makes a ton of accessories for the iPhone and iPods from Apple. The company has announced its new line of cases for the iPhone 4 that was launched early this week. Scosche will be offering eight cases and three screen protectors for the phone.

The cases include the kickback g4 with a polycarbonate shell and a kickstand. The switchKASE g4 is silicone with a stand; the metalliKASE g4 is a polycarbonate case in chrome with a mirror screen protector.

Apple iPad Launch Today in the US

Apple iPad launchApple launched it’s new iPad tablet on Saturday, meeting long lines of individuals anxiously waiting, some for many hours, to purchase the new mobile device. The release of the iPad is the most anticipated product Apple has released since the iPhone launch in 2007, with almost as much hype surrounding it.

The iPads going on sale Saturday are the WiFi-only versions and are priced from $499 to $699 depending on the storage capacity desired, which ranges from 16GB to 64GB. Apple will release a 3G version of the iPad later in the month with prices ranging from $629 to $829, again depending on storage capacity.

The iPad devices are a small tablet-like device with a 9.7-inch touch screen (on screen keyboard) and they run an operating system very similar to the iPhone or iPod touch. They have the ability to download and play music and videos from Apple’s iTunes library, read books e-books with Apple’s new iBook application and use thousands of applications from the Apple App Store for the iPad.

As the Apple iPad launch date gets closer, more accessories are becoming available. Mostly frames with kickstands. This latest accessory is the oddly named Quirky Cloak. It’s designed to look sleek and protect your iPad at the same time. It’s made from non-slip rubber and has a durable plastic hinge on the edges.

The iPad loads into the top of the case and once inside is held firmly in place by a friction grip. The Quirky Cloak is designed so that the iPad can sit on a surface in landscape mode, or stand up with a kick stand in portrait mode.

Seems like there’s a ton of disappointment with the Apple iPad since it’s unveiling earlier today. Well, love it or hate it, Griffin has announced their first iPad accessories, cases really and screen protections. There’s the Elan Passport, Elan Sleeve, FlexGrip case, Jumper, and Screen Care Kit.

The Elan Passport is a leather flip-open case that you can also use to store some business cards. The Elan Sleeve is a leather sleeve. The FlexGrip case wraps your iPad in protective silicone, while allowing complete access to the audio output jack, dock connector, MultiTouch display and controls.

Best Buy has early iPod touch 3rd gen accessories

Best Buy has early iPod touch 3rd gen accessories Oops. Best Buy has listings for a number of accessories from Belkin for the as yet unannounced iPod touch 3rd generation. None of the listings mention a digital camera on the back of this new model, but they list six new case lines on their website. Some of those cases sport “hand straps” however, suggesting that it will have a camera.

Following up on rumors that the new model might be delayed, Pocket-lint managed to get a Riverdale New Jersey Walmart to comment that they were expecting the “newer” iPod touch models at the “end of the month.”
