Elecom Oppopet Mouse Has A Tail

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on July 12th, 2011

The Elecom Oppopet mouse truly looks like a mouse since the wireless receiver plugs into the back of the mouse for storage and makes it look like a tail. There are a variety animal tails to choose from. There is a fox, dog, dolphin, cat, pig, squirrel, chameleon and rabbit.

To use the mouse, just remove the tail and plug it into your computer’s USB port, turn on the mouse, and you’re ready. This mouse has 1,000dpi and a range of up to 3m It’s powered by one AAA battery. Pretty cute.

Polar Bear, Penguin, and Panda flash drives let rip endangered animals in half

Posted in Storage by Shane McGlaun on February 22nd, 2010

I guess there is a big market for novelty flash drives. There are so many flash drives out there that have strange designs, someone must be buying them. The latest strange flash drives to turn up are from Active Media Products.

The drives are in the Endangered Species USB flash drive line and come in penguin, polar bear, and panda bear styles. Each drive is 2.2-inches long and support Mac and PC systems. The drives are made from silicone and are PVC, lead, and mercury free.

USB Panda Speakers look sad

Posted in Speakers by Conner Flynn on November 22nd, 2009

USB Panda Speakers look sadAre you in desperate need of a giant animal head on your desk? One that has large black eyes that hold sadness like an abyss? It’s just what it appears to be, a giant honking Panda head with speakers in it’s eyes.

Why you would want one, we can’t begin to guess. How you interact with it, we don’t want to know. It will cost you $27 if you want this USB-powered speaker. He looks pretty depressing to me. As if he’s begging you to save his dying species.

USB Tortoise Massager

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on August 25th, 2009

USB Tortoise MassagerEveryone knows that despite being slow, turtles are master masseuses. You just have to book your appointment in advance since they take their time. Brando’s USB Tortoise Massager sure looks like it would be relaxing. He’s basically a vibrating turtle with a USB connection that should sooth your tense muscles with his legs.

It’s powered by a pair of AA batteries, not by USB. God forbid he put some power into the massage. How much money would you expect to “shell” out for such a massager? Well thankfully the price matches this little guys power at only $10.

Today I am going to take a hands on look at the SideWinder X8 gaming mouse, which is the first gaming mouse to use Microsoft’s BlueTrack technology. Read on for all of the details.

Gadget cruelty: Turtle USB hub

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on March 31st, 2009

Gadget cruelty: Turtle USB hubIs there anything sadder than an animal impaled with a bunch of usb sticks? I think not. It looks like gadget roadkill on your desk. Like some mad scientist doing weird experiments. Put this turtle next to the mutant cow usb hub and things look even creepier.

All they need is a robot roadkill collector to wheel up and collect these corpses and the set is complete. This hub sports 4 USB 2.0 ports, and even has a place for you to store your paperclips and loose change. Only $13.99.

Cyber Fox USB drive

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on January 22nd, 2009

Cyber Fox USB driveMeet Cyber Fox. You get to decapitate him every time you use your flash drive and shove his lifeless body into your laptop. It will serve as a good warning to all of those other cute and furry critters out there. Great for the dude with the anger problem. Might be therapeutic to use this thing whenever you get mad.

It would be pretty funny to see some guy get all agro and give a grunt as he rips this fox’s head off, flings it across the room and jams the body in the USB port. Just repeat, whenever you get mad. Sadly this fox doesn’t even look like the Firefox fox, or it might be cool.

Wood Grain USB optical mouse

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on October 16th, 2008

Wood Grain USB optical mouseIf you have an unnatural love of wooden gadgets, you might want to caress the grainy surfaces of the Wood Grain Optical Mouse. This optical 800 dpi USB mouse sports USB 2.0 connectivity, true 800DPI, and 3-buttons Optical Mouse. Best of all it’s only $12. It will go with the rest of your wood gadgets, like those wooden animal drives on your desk for instance.

Why do you love wooden gadgets so much anyway? Are you working on a theme or something? Trying to be some kind of wood-dude? Like a James Bond villain whose thing is to have wood everything? I just noticed that it’s all wood with you. I mean, it’s overkill. It’s an addiction is what it is. You know you don’t need this mouse, but you’ll get it, Woody. Woodrow.

Un-bear-ably cute notebook speakers

Posted in Peripherals by Shane McGlaun on October 10th, 2008

Bear Dolls Laptop SpeakersWhen I buy speakers or other gadgets for my computer, I like them to look like speakers. Some people out there obviously feel differently and like to buy stuff that doesn’t look like it is supposed to look. I guess the fad all started with the nanny cams years ago that looked like stuffed animals.

If you need a set of speakers for your notebook, desktop or MP3 player that look like cuddly stuffed bears, you are in luck. This set of speakers has one brown bear and a white bear that each houses a speaker with 2W of power each.

Radioactive usb sheep, with goggles

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on September 13th, 2008

Radioactive usb sheep, with gogglesIt takes a special kind of nerd to have a glowing radioactive USB sheep on his desk. One who wears goggles even. It’s based on the Seamour Sheep comic series, which follows the misadventures of Seamour and presumably his…sheep. Just plug this little guy into your USB port, dim the lights, and enjoy the smooth soft hues of a glowing electric sheep. Much like these animals, the placing of his USB cord seems unfortunate, but at least no farmer is backing him to the edge of a cliff. You can own one of these limited edition of 500 radioactive sheep for $69. Seems expensive for a glowing sheep, but what do I know?

Wooden animal USB drives get no respect

Posted in USB Flash Drives by Conner Flynn on August 26th, 2008

Wooden animal USB drives get no respectCould we really not come up with a better way to violate these animals via USB? Apparently not, and I have no better suggestions to offer as far as the placement of their uh, receptacle. Poor guys get no respect at all. Just living out USB life day after horrible day, like a having perpetual proctology exam as time slides toward infinity.

You can thank Japanese company Marubeni InfoTech. This is their line of wooden USB drives. Each features a 1GB storage capacity and you get five animals to choose from: dog, pig, elephant, hippopotamus and a swan, available in maple or walnut. They’ll cost you $73. Is there an organization for the ethical treatment of wood animals?

The Comfish USB aquarium

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2008

The Comfish USB aquarium
The Comfish aquarium measures 180 x 140 x 55 mm and is controlled almost entirely from your computer while it is hooked up to your USB port. The USB supplies power to the tank’s LED lights, the water heater, and the oxygen pump. It’s all controlled with a program that looks just like the fish tank itself. A camera inside the tank displays what’s going on inside the virtual fish tank on your computer, so you never even have to look at the real fish if you like to neglect animals.

But wait, there’s more. It’s also a room humidifier and a night light. It’s available in red, blue, silver or gold and costs about $50 for those in Korea.

Strange robot-bird webcam

Strange robot-bird webcam

This might be the oddest webcam I’ve seen yet. It appears to be a hybrid of bird and robot. Apparently Chickens of the future are none too happy about being a staple of our diet and have therefore merged with machine. Strangely I like it, as it has a kind of Flash Gordon retro look.

The silver-colored cam is made of plastic and measures 65 x 65 x 145 mm. There isn’t much information available about yet, but he looks very affordable. If you have some sort of rare robot animal collection, he should fit in very well.
