GeeksPhone launches The One Android Phone |
If you live in Spain and are looking for a new Android phone, here’s some good news. Very soon GeeksPhone will launch their first Android phone for the Spanish market. The phone goes by the overly dramatic name of “The One”.
The smartphone is equipped with a 625MHz PXA310 processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a front-facing camera, microSD card slot, AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Android 1.5 Cupcake OS and supports quad-band EDGE/HSDPA connectivity.


Amazon.co.uk is now offering the HTC Hero for pre-order. The Android handset has been listed to retail for £429.99 each. July 15th is the expected shipping date, but nothing is certain so don’t be surprised if the date changes.
HTC only recently announced its new Android-powered smartphone called the Hero. HTC has a number of smartphones on various wireless networks in the US and is the maker of the T-Mobile G1 smartphone that runs Android.

Archos has announced the Archos9, a UMPC that runs Windows 7. Its predecessors may be basic touchscreen internet media tablets, but the Archos9 can run a full OS. Some other features include a built-in webcam, 120GB of memory, full touch support, an external mic, streo speakers, and an optical trackpad as well as an on-screen keyboard.

Word on the street is that Sony has a possible Android-powered Sony Walkman coming soon. It sounds weird, but it’s very possible and it makes sense. Android doesn’t cost a penny and it’s highly customizable, with built-in media playback capabilities, and works great on touchscreen devices.
According to Acer chairman JT Wang, the first Android netbooks will ship with Windows in dual-boot configurations. If you wanted a clean break from windows with your new Acer netbook, looks like you are out of luck.
It was pretty clear that the latest incarnation of Windows would be available this fall. Now Microsoft has announced the date. The latest version of the Windows operating system, Windows 7, will hit general commercial availability on Oct. 22.
