Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on October 25th, 2009

Amazing Tauntaun wedding cakeWe’ve seen more than our share of geekery when it comes to cakes. This one is the absolute best ever, beating even the AT-AT cake.

Just look at that detail. It’s gross and yet delicious. Look at how horrified Luke is. But at least he’s warm and alive. Just grab yourself a delicious piece of it’s entrails and eat up. Best wedding cake ever.

Best Star Wars cake everIt shouldn’t come as a big surprise to our readers that we love cake. After all, we brought you 20 awesome robot cakes, 25 awesome geek cakes and 25 more awesome geek cakes. This one…wait for it…really takes the cake.

Jennifer Luxmore of Sin Desserts in Providence, RI made this amazing AT-AT cake. Awesomely detailed and obviously delicious. It’s what the rebels on Hoth ate in celebration after fleeing the ice planet. I would tie string to my fork and fly my utensil around it’s legs like a snowspeeder, bringing it to it’s knees so that I may devour it.

Samsung Clover phone conceptIf the Samsung Clover ever becomes available to the masses, it will sell like hot cakes. It’s highly customizable with a four module interface that allow it to be upgraded to keep up with the latest in technology. The modules consist of vision, location, sound and sensor, and can be added onto by developers or independently.

It’s also made from recycled materials, so it is eco-friendly for those who care about the environment. The back of the phone features PLCD that transforms from opaque to transparent, depending on the current intensity of the battery level. One thing is for sure, it’s a looker.

Apple iPhone cupcakes are 3G-licious

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on September 16th, 2008

Apple iPhone cupcakes are 3G-liciousWhat can you say about an iPhone that is an amazing feat in creativity and in all likelihood magically delicious at the same time? It’s obviously a set of 12 cupcakes decorated to look like the iPhone. All I can say is that if this amazing treat was sitting in front of me, the decision to eat it or just admire it would fry my geek brain. They are the product of a Cupcake Decorating Championship at Ignite NYC, and they rightly took the first place prize last night. No word on whether creators Danielle and Nick Bilton are going to eat them now or not.

Star Trek: The next generation of cake
We’ve seen Sci-Fi and gadget inspired cakes before. But a star Trek cake? That’s a new one to us. Check out this awesome cake replica of the original enterprise bridge, complete with crew. The creator runs a bakery in Baltimore and of course, is a Star Trek fan. He’s obviously good since the Food Network airs a reality show called “The Ace of Cakes” that focused on his bakery.

The show sometimes shows off specialty cakes and this one will be featured in an upcoming episode. It’s got Spock, Uhura, Chekov,Kirk and a thin looking Scotty not at his post. That is some amazing detail. It would be a pleasure to eat. As far as nerd cake goes, this is pretty awesome.

R2-D2 cake: There’s always room for droids

R2-D2 cake
An R2-D2 cake that barely even looks like a cake? My fingers crave to dig into it’s dome head as I partake of it’s droid goodness by the heaping handful. Pastry chef Mark Randazzo of Mark Joseph Cakes sculpted this amazing treat. Note to George Lucas, let this guy cater any Lucasfilm events from now on.

It is 100% edible. As you can see, there is some amazing detail on this cake. R2 cakes are nothing new of course, but this one is an absolute masterpiece. I just asked my wife why her cakes don’t look like that and I immediately got a wiimote to the balls. Careful with the Wii everyone, seems injuries really can happen.
