LG Ally gets a website, we get more details

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on May 5th, 2010

The LG Ally was recently acknowledged to actually exist, but aside from that, we knew very little. Well, now the phone has it’s own page on the company’s website, which is also a nice little commercial for Iron Man 2.

Aside from pimping out Tony Stark and his technicolor armored geek suit, it gives us some info. The device has a 3.2-inch touchscreen, Android 2.1, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, backside camera and a microSD card slot.

LG Aloha to be called Ally for Verizon

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on May 2nd, 2010

We have news that the LG LU2300 Aloha handset headed for Verizon in May will be called the Ally instead, which is not nearly as catchy of a name. The mid-May release is on track and the specs will be the same, with a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 480×800 resolution and Android 2.1.

Some other specs include a QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel camera and support for 720p video playback. Pricing for the device remains a mystery. Maybe this one is up your ally.

We now have more information on the LG LU2300 smartphone which comes with a slideout QWERTY keyboard and a circular D-Pad. There’s also a hardware button setup on the front.

It differs from other Android phones from LG because it has the fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor with a 3.5″ AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera and Android 2.1. Right now it looks like it’s only a South Korea special. No idea if or when it will hit North America.

Is this the LG Aloha?

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on April 5th, 2010

There’s no palm trees, no coconuts, and it won’t play Hawaii 5-0, but this might just be the LG Aloha. Until now we haven’t seen any official pictures of the LG Aloha, but some people think that this may be it.

There’s no way to know for sure, but this one is supposedly called the LU2300, while we heard that the Aloha is the C710. The specs are pretty sweet though boasting a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1, 3.5-inch AMOLED display, 800 x 480 WVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 720p video and an Optical trackpad.

Android-powered LG C710 Aloha smartphone

Keep in mind that this is unconfirmed, but rumor is that LG is planning an Android-powered phone called the C710 Aloha. The rumored specs certainly have us drooling and we are ready to believe this one since there was recently approval of a device called the C710 by the WiFi Alliance.

Some of those rumored specs include an 800 x 480 display, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Full QWERTY keyboard along with GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and HSUPA connectivity. Sounds like a good Droid alternative.

Tikitoonz Tiki speakers
Summer will be over before you know it, so enjoy your pool by cranking out the tunes in these Tikitoonz Tiki speakers. They’ll add a touch of tropical paradise to your pool area, while sitting sternly in judgment over all.

They’re based on Polynesian carvings and feature 80 watts per channel and they’re also weather-resistant. Just do not anger the Tiki Gods. Remember what happened to the Brady Bunch in Hawaii. This pair of speakers will cost you $149.95, but you’ll be partying in style and rocking the Luau as you listen to Tiny Bubbles for the millionth time.
