Dell has unveiled its new Alienware M14x and M18x notebooks and an updated M11x notebook as well. The M18x features an 18 inch display and dual GPUs along with a Core i7 Extreme processor, overclocked from to 4GHz and 32GB of 1333MHz memory. We are talking some serious power here.

The M18x and M14x also offer optional wireless HD audio/video for TV streaming, HDMI 1.4 for 3D support and USB 3.0 ports.

Check out this awesome USB Alien figure. Since it plugs into your USB port, it must have some storage right? At least 2GB. Nope. Apparently all it does is stick its illuminated tongue out.

The head or limbs don’t even move. Why they wouldn’t give it storage, we have no idea. It’s supposed to be scary, but it’s actually pretty cute. Unless you are a pint sized Ripley, in which case this thing is pretty easy to kill.

This Alien USB Drive made by Etsy seller MikaEle is hand carved from wood. We love the detail, especially the realistic looking fangs. The USB connection slides in and out with the push of a button so you can display him when not in use.

It comes with 4GB of storage space. If you want it you better be quick, it’s one of a kind, which is why it’s priced at $155 over at MikaEle’s Shop on Etsy. Sure, that’s a lot of dough, but we’re talking an Alien head here.

Alienware’s latest LCD monitor, the OptX AW2210 is touted as being “ideal for the latest-generation games and high-definition movies”. This 21.5-inch LCD monitor sports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and features a 2ms response time, a 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 300 cd/m2 brightness.

That’s not all. It also comes equipped with some fancy ports fer pluggin’ yer stuff in. Two audio ports, four USB 2.0 ports, a DVI port and two HDMI connectors.

Dubbed the “all-powerful” gaming laptop, Alienware just may be onto something here. It features a pair of 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPUs, a Core 2 Extreme quad-core CPU at the top end with up to 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory, and 1TB of 7200-rpm disk or a 512GB SSD.

RAID 1 or RAID 0. You’ll also get a nine-cell battery, FireWire, 4x USB, eSATA, ExpressCard, 802.11n WiFi, 8-in-1 media card reader, dual-layer Blu-ray, a 1920 x 1200 pixel edge-to-edge LCD, DisplayPort and HDMI-outs all in a package that weighs 11.68-pounds.

It’s no coincidence that there’s a new Trek movie just as Dream Cheeky will be releasing a USB VoIP/Skype phone in the form of geek gold: A replica of the communicators used on the original Star Trek TV series.

The phone is compatible with XP, Vista and OS X Tiger or greater, and you’ll get speakerphone, mute and volume control functions, plus the usual Star Trek sounds. Stuff like, “Transporter room ready to beam up”. It’s due out in April, but we don’t have any pricing info yet. Should be affordable though.

These weird little figures are called Poken. They let you exchange contact details with someone else in a physical way. With high fives. And hey, Poken are cute. Why the hell not? The USB device comes in four varieties: bee, alien, panda and flaming skeleton. Odd combination to be sure, but I’m assuming they all get along just swell.

Just put your Poken’s hand up to your buddy’s, then when you plug yours into a USB port later, your friend’s contacts will automatically sync to your Poken account, which propogates to Facebook, MySpace and other networks. I’m sure it will all work out fine, because surely everyone that you know also has a Poken. Which is a requirement.

Toshiba is laying the smack down on Alienware, revamping its flame emblazoned Qosmio X305 by introducing the Qosmio X305-Q708, which features a Core 2 Extreme QX9300 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB SSD, 320GB 7,200 RPM SATA drive, dual-layer DVD writer, twin NVIDIA 512MB GeForce 9800M GTS graphics cards, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Windows Vista Ultimate. It’s also got a full-sized keyboard with a ten-key number pad, four Harman Kardon speakers, HDMI / DisplayPort connectors, 1.3-megapixel webcam, Wireless USB / USB Sleep-and-Charge technologies and a 17-inch TruBrite LCD (Unknown resolution).

It should be available by the time you read this for around $4,199.99. But if I were you I’d pay extra to get rid of the whole fire motif. With those specs, it’s a damn shame Toshiba is so set on making you look like a flaming dork.

Harmon-Kardon offers the latest in the speakers that look like ice trend. At last Superman has many speaker options to choose from, for his Fortress of Solitude. Wonder Woman is pretty happy too, because these match her invisible plane.

I like the angles on these. They look vaguely alien. Harmon Kardon unveiled the GLA-55 see-through speakers at IFA 2008. They offer a 100-watt bi-amplified digital amplifier coupled with DSP equalization along with proprietary tech like the Atlas AL drivers and woofers and a CMMD tweeter, plus optimization for digital sound. They sport touch sensitive controls and they do stand out. They should be available in autumn 2008 worldwide. No word on pricing.

This thing looks like it’s alien in origin, but it’s made right here on Earth. It’s the future people! It’s the size of a small apple. And they crammed a lot inside. A 300 MHz processor, 16MB of onboard flash memory, 64MB of SDRAM, and a 1GB CompactFlash card loaded with Red Hat Linux. On the outside, it’s got a single USB port, VGA, Ethernet port, RS232 port, and mic and speaker plugs.

The entire deal is powered by a 5V plug. But that’s not all. It’s also got a “Space Wire” port, which is a proprietary interface used by people like the ESA, NASA and JAXA, for when the Cube actually goes into space. Get it? Space cube. But it’s not just for space, you can get your own soon, “once a few technical issues have been ironed out”. They will retail for as much as $2,769.

The Toshiba Qosmio WXW/79GW gaming laptop means business,(play actually) as it comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2GB of DDR3 memory. It also sports a 64GB SSD drive with a 160GB 7200 SATA hard drive. Some other features include a 17 inch WSXGA+ (1,680×1,050), 1GB GeForce 9800M GTX graphics card, a 1.3MP camera, 4 in 1 card reader, HDMI out, USB, Firewire, WLAN, and a DVD super drive.

As if that weren’t enough, it comes to you with this awesome flame skin. The Toshiba 9800M GTX Gaming Laptop will be available in Japan next month. The SSD model will cost $3500.

It should be noted that I don’t trust anything that smiles constantly. Especially when it looks like this. The thing looks like it’s wearing some kind of gruesome death mask meant to be ironic when it kills you.

But if, unlike me, you find these little terrors cute, this Happy Alien Mini-Speaker can attach to your iPod, MP3, or MP4 player. With a USB rechargeable Li-ion battery, you can extend or retract its neck to change the volume. The speaker also features a 3.5mm stereo audio connector and comes in orange or blue. Get one for $11.90.

Anything that calls itself “UFO Combo Card Reader + 7-Port Hub” catches my attention. It’s not just a useless device with a cool name either. It’s a gadget that is actually quite handy sporting 7 powered USB 2.0 ports. It’s also got 7 slots to read CF / T-Flash / MicroSD / M2 / Mini SD / SD / MMC Micro / MMC / XD / SM / MS / MS Duo cards.

Did I mention it’s shaped like a UFO? (Sort of) And it might even house little aliens for all I know. The kind that get all up in your business at night, while you sleep. You can get yours in either blue or gray for $30.

Alienware said today it is bringing back into its fold of desktop computers a popular model with revised features. The Alienware Aurora will price, depending upon configuration, at under $1,000.

The specialty computer maker said this desktop fully equipped has a quad core AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition CPU and dual ATI Radeon 3870X2 GPUs with 2GB of combined, dedicated graphics memory. It also offers a fully-integrated AMD Spider/ASUS 790FX-based platform, up to 4TB of hard drive capacity and 4GB of DDR2 memory.
