Teac has announced its first HD radio device, in the form of the TEAC HD-1. The iPod docking system comes equipped with HD Radio technology for a superior audio experience and compelling new content through HD Radio programming.

You can use the TEAC HD-1 with your iTunes collection via its iTunes Tagging capability. Some other features include a remote control, dual alarm clock with snooze button, five equalizer presets, and an iPod/iPhone charger. You can purchase the Teac HD-1 HD Radio at select Costco stores around the US for $129.99 each.

Alarm clocks are noisy because noise is the one thing you can’t stand in the morning. It works so good that the alarm has remained basically the same for years. What else could possibly entice you to get up and face your day? Maybe you’d be more apt to wake up for a well rounded breakfast.

Marantz, known for its luxury hi-fi output, has announced the CR502, an all-in-one music system. The CR502 consists of two stereo amplifiers, each with 2 x 25W, adding up to 100W of music output and comes complete with a CD drive and DAB tuner.

You’ll also get a variety of inputs and outputs that includes a USB 2.0 port. It’s all packed into a compact aluminum chassis. The CR502 will also give you a clock radio and alarm with sleep functions. This all-in-one will cost you about GBP 499.

Camping used to be about getting away from technology and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But most camping gadgets and accessories these days are designed to make sure you still take some technology with you. Like this Coleman Inflatable Mattress. The Rubik’s cube is more popular then ever. It’s getting a spherical update, it’s also a lamp and it makes a great alarm clock too. So this touchscreen Rubik’s cube makes perfect sense.

Plus, if any toy/puzzle needed a touchscreen, it’s the Rubik’s cube. It’s a natural progression. Obviously the TouchCube works just like the old version, but instead of turning it’s segments, just swipe a finger in a straight line or an ‘L’ shape. There’s even an accelerometer built in so that only the upwards-facing surfaces respond to your touch. How awesome is that?

If you correctly remember the sequence of lights and press the buttons on the clock in the correct order, you can earn some peace and quiet, then either get out of bed or go back to sleep. On the other hand, you can always smash it to bits. I don’t see any info on price or availability.

Out of all of the gadgets that we own, alarm clocks are our least favorite. They are probably the most hated gadget period. Anything that wakes you from your peaceful slumber on a daily basis deserves to be smashed, if not thrown out the window to be run over by a dump truck.

That’s the idea behind the Smash Clock. To turn off the Smash Clock’s alarm, there’s no fumbling required to find the right button. Just punch it. The top is nice and soft. By punching it aggressively, you wake up more fully, not to mention the fact that you’ve gotten some aggression out of your system first thing.

Everybody seems to be getting into releasing Internet radios this year. Even Sanyo. The company is getting set to release this month the R227, priced around $170.

The Sanyo R227 is designed to deliver, either through wireless Wi-Fi or Ethernet wired connectivity, thousands of Internet radio stations and podcasts. The product has the look somewhat of a regular clock radio, even sporting a FM tuner with alarm clock functions for those that desire.

It comes one week earlier than what we initially thought. Just what is “High Speed Internet”? Probably code for T-Mobile’s crappy new “Web2Go” WAP service.

iLuv is on a roll. Seems like every time you turn around, they have a new alarm clock of some kind, but they’ve been saving the best for CES. Today they announced the iMM183 Hi-Fi Dual Dock Alarm Clock with Weather Band Radio.

It will charge twin iPods and iPhone 3Gs while giving you NOAA emergency alerts, letting you know if Tornadoes or other natural disasters are on the way, so you can run to safety. After grabbing your charged iPhone of course. It also sports an auxiliary input for non-Apple devices.

Here’s a great design that can’t make up it’s mind as to whether it’s from the future or the past. We like it. The Time Tuner was created by Istanbul-based Antrepo Design Industry, who decided against the traditional digital clock face. It instead boasts an analog style that resembles a radio tuner.

It’s a lot like our favorite watches from Tokyoflash. The numbers along the length of the dial light-up to show you the hour. At the same time, an illuminated vertical red line moves across the dial for minutes. If you’re looking for a clock with style, look no further.

The frustrating 80s puzzle we all grew up on makes for a cool light source. The Rubik’s Cube Light lamp by Eric Pautz is yet another variation on the popular cube. What’s cool about this one is that the light shines through and creates many colorful patterns.

If you already have the Rubiks cube alarm clock, you’d be remiss if this lamp doesn’t turn your eye. The gadget is available in two versions, color and transparent.
