Dad’s Cab: A taxi meter for your kidsBeing a parent isn’t easy. You have to be a jack of all trades. One of those trades is Taxi Driver. Can you drive me here and pick me up at 10? And it never ends until the kid is old enough to drive. That’s where the Dad’s Cab novelty taxi meter comes in handy. Dad’s Cab is a novelty taxi meter that comes with a bunch of cards that dad can give out to their kids as a bill. Payments include such things as ‘tidy your room’ and ‘make dad a cup of tea’.

In other words, no more free rides. With the included adhesive strips, you can secure the taxi meter to the dashboard of your car. Turn it on every time your kid uses you as a taxi service and the meter will go up. Also doubles as an alarm clock and is powered by 4 LR44 batteries at £9.95. It teaches kids that nothing is free and your time is valuable.

GameChains

From the “I cooked this up in my garage” department comes word of a rather interesting new gaming accessory designed to help you not lose those pesky little Nintendo DS games. It is called a GameChain and prices around $10.

The GameChain idea is rather simple – a keychain like design which keeps your small DS games tethered together so they don’t get lost in your sofa or on the train. The system is described as consisting of “laser-cut tabs, powder-coated metal chain, and aggressive, but non-permanent, adhesive pads.”

DOORKICK helps keep your car looking new

DOORKICKI bought a new car not too long ago and it seems like every time I get in my wife or kids have added some new scratches to the plastic interior panels from kicking the doors open. I have often wished there was something that could keep the interior panels form being scratched.

A product called the DOORKICK looks like it may be just what I need to keep the door panels looking new. The product is made from a soft foam base and a vinyl material that sticks to the lower part of the door with an adhesive that can stand up to high temperatures inside a car in the summer.

Lumeta’s “peel & stick” solar panels
You want some of that sweet solar juice, but you don’t want to tear up your roof just to get solar panels installed. Lumeta’s PowerPly could be the answer. The panels use traditional roofing adhesives, that most roofers will be familiar with, and the process means that there is no need to drill holes and bolts as with most other systems required to mount solar panels. It’s also faster. They can do an entire roof in 35 minutes!

It’s targeted at commercial projects for the moment, but hopefully residential houses will soon be getting the opportunity. Video below.

Inkjet Tattoo paper makes you look tough, no pain
Want a tattoo but can’t stand the idea of a ink filled needle jabbing you a million times? Well girlly-man, you can rest easy, because now you can just print designs out and have a temporary tattoo. Whether you want the “I’ve been to prison” look, or even if you are a young and loose female wanting a unique tramp-stamp to lure the man-meat, it’s now easy.

Just create your own tattoo design, then once it’s printed you just need to apply an adhesive sheet to the printout and smooth out any bubbles. When you remove the adhesive sheet, the printed tattoo will remain with a sticky surface allowing it to be applied to your skin with a wet sponge. They’re water-based and non-toxic. If you avoid bathing they will stay on you for about a week, otherwise they can easily be removed with soap and water.

Survival Kit in a CanI have never been fond of food that has eyes and can look at me as I eat it. As such I stay away from salty, fishy snacks like sardines. ThinkGeek has a new survival kit that is packed in a sardine can to provide a waterproof seal for the necessities of life should you find yourself stranded on a desert island.

ThinkGeek says the can is airtight, waterproof, crushproof and packed with 25 survival items including a non-aspirin pain reliever, adhesive bandage, alcohol prep pad, antibiotic ointment, book of matches, compass, chewing gum, sugar, salt, energy nugget, duct tape, fire starter cube, first aid instructions, fish hook and line, note paper, pencil, razor blade, safety pin, reflective signal surface, tea bag, waterproof bag, whistle, and wire clip.

Mindwire’s shocking V-5 sensory feedback kit
Mindwire has come up with an electrical muscle simulation kit that actually gives gamers direct sensory feedback. That means when your onscreen character takes a hit, you get a shock. The price is £99.99 and the Mindwire-V5 will plug into any second-generation console through the controller port.

So, if you are a glutton for punishment, this add-on will give you a more intense and immersive gameplay experience if you’re up for it. A maximum of five self-adhesive pads can be applied to your arms, legs and stomach. Hell, why not just have your little brother kick you in the nuts everytime someone scores a hit on you? That’s immersive gameplay.

Rubiks Cube Solver

Years ago when Rubik’s cubes were new and popular I worked on one for weeks and eventually developed a system for solving them in a relatively short amount of time.

I was able to do this because I figured out that the colors were adhesive stickers that I could remove and stick back on where I wanted.

Pictured here is a machine made out of legos that not only can manipulate the Rubik’s cube, but it can also identify the color and solve the puzzle. At around 30 seconds a move it takes a little …
