Libratone Live AirPlay wireless speakers

Libratone has announced a new speaker that uses the AirPlay Wi-Fi streaming feature on Macs to deliver audio and podcasts from your iTunes library to anywhere in your network. They will go on sale in the UK in September for £599.

The Libratone Live AirPlay speaker has an output of up to 150 Watts with five dedicated amplifiers. The speaker is said to create a “room-filling soundscape with the tweeters and midrange drivers dispersing 360-degree sound”.

Soundfreaq has announced a few new wireless speaker systems: the Sound Step and Sound Step Recharge. Both of them are nice and compact and the Sound Step Recharge even has a built-in rechargeable battery that will give you up to six hours of playback time. Not bad.

It is also an iPad docking station, so you can stream music wirelessly from your iPad while charging and a USB charging port will also allow you to charge another gadget at the same time.

Creative has unveiled the wireless one-piece D80, a Bluetooth speaker that is pretty much identical to the previous D100, except for a lower price at $50 and a loss of battery power. Not much to get excited about.

The $300 ZiiSound D5x on the other hand, is compatible with the new D3x modular speaker and DSx modular subwoofer, which are both priced at $150. The D80 arrives this month and the ZiiSound’s components will arrive this summer.

JBL has now started shipping their new On Air Wireless Speaker System which is specially designed for iOS devices. This is among the first AirPlay-enabled speakers capable of streaming iTunes 10 music or Internet radio directly from your computer. We also love that it looks like it belongs in a spaceship cockpit.

This speaker system can use your existing Wi-Fi or Ethernet to connect to your PC or Mac iTunes library and makes the link with Apple’s AirPlay technology. It also sports a small LCD screen so you can see the album artwork and song info when an iOS device is not docked.

Pioneer VMS-700-K Wireless Speaker for seniors

One look at this wireless speaker and you just know it is for the elderly. It looks like luggage more than a speaker. Pioneer has introduced this new Wireless TV Speaker for Japan that will boost your TV sound output and allow the elderly to better hear music without having to turn their TV volume up and bother the rest of us.

This VMS-700-K will be available in Japan in May for around 20,000 Yen. It features two 50mm diameter speakers with a 1Wx2Ch total output on a 100Hz-20kHz bandwidth. The internal nickel hydrogen battery offers 13 hours of battery life and it has a wireless range of 30m max.

InOne concept all-in-one computer is beautiful

This concept InOne computer is a sexy all-in-one computer that captures your eye and won’t let go. It features a 22-inch display, keyboard, touchpad, speakers and a digital tablet all built into one single unit.

It also has built-in wireless connectivity and while we don’t have any detailed technical specifications, we don’t care. It is just too sexy. Hopefully it becomes a real product that we can buy. With good specs of course. Nice eye candy.

Parrot, leaders in all kinds of wireless peripherals, has launched the Zikmu Parrot by Starck: Dragon Red speakers. The design is tall as the name is long and like the name implies, they are in bold red.

Some features include an iPod or iPhone docking station and you can listen to web radio using a dedicated iPhone/iPod touch application. They also offer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth audio streaming as well as browsing and control.

One thing that we all want are speakers. Without the wires. Aluratek has heard our collective plea and launched three new wireless audio products called Bump. Oddly there’s a wired model among them, but whatever. There’s the $49.99 AMS01F, which is a boombox that plays music from SD cards, line-in, or FM and delivers six hours on a charge.

Next up is the $79.99 AUWS01F which uses a signal sent from a 2.4GHz USB dongle in your PC or Mac to play tunes from your machine. Next is the $99.99 AWS01F, which is the AMS01F boombox with the addition of a separate wireless speaker.

Altec Lansing announces Octiv Stage iPad dock

Altec Lansing is introducing the Octiv Stage iPad dock, which will keep your iPad charged when connected and allow you to position your iPad in a horizontal or vertical configuration. The rotating arm will also allow you to tilt the display for comfortable viewing or typing.

The device will cost you $150 and comes with a wireless remote. It’s two 50mm neodymium speakers are specially tuned to deliver a more center performance, which is better for dialogue, aside from stereo audio. iPods and iPhones are also compatible and non-Apple hardware can be hooked up via a 3.5mm auxiliary jack.

Creative Sound Blaster Wireless MultiPlay System hits the FCC

Creative is one of the big names you think of when it comes to sound and now they have sent this Sound Blaster Wireless MultiPlay system to the FCC, which should consist of a MultiPlay transmitter, a controller, and a wireless receiver.

The design lets you attach the transmitter to your PC, install the Creative Music Server software, and control the audio system with the receiver plugged into it using the controller. The audio can also be streamed to Creative’s existing wireless speakers or headphones and will accept up to four devices. Creative sees this as a multi-room solution, to control specific zones of music through your house.
