Duracell powers your USB gadgets
Chances are you’ve been out with your phone and it runs out of juice. It’s annoying. We put men on the moon for God’s sake.(That was a long time ago) Well, Duracell wants to make sure you always have plenty of power in your USB gadgets. If your device uses mini USB to charge, Duracell’s new PowerSource Mini has you covered.

You can get it in two different versions. One is designed to power your iPod and the other is for Blackberry. Both have a mini USB connector. The PowerSource Mini stores power with an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. Apparently it has a second USB port that lets you charge another device at the same time. It ships with an AC adapter and DC charger that each have a USB port, and the PowerSource Mini. Never be powerless again.

Meninos hard drives make storage fun

Meninos hard drives make storage fun
Plain boring hard drives. We’ve all got one. But what if you could jazz up that hard drive and actually make a creative statement about your work area? The artists of Brazil’s Meninos design studio hate boring hard drives and they did something about it.

It all started when they made these custom pop art hard drive cases for friends. Now they are releasing them into the wild so everyone can enjoy them. Each external USB hard drive case is made by hand at their studio, using a custom acrylic case covered with a vinyl wrapper that features one of their designs. They’ll also make custom designs for you if you want to upload Adobe Illustrator art using their custom template. I like the Stormtrooper.

Strongking GK858 DPF

A Chinese electronics manufacturer named Strongking is promoting a new digital photo frame which looks like an eyeball. It is called the Strongking GK858 DPF – no word on pricing or American availability.

The Strongking GK858 DPF sports small screen sizes of 1.5- and 1.8-inches, meaning this device itself is relatively small while sprouting a resolution of 128 x 128 or 160 x 128. It can display JPEG and BMP photos and has just 16MB of internal memory. There doesn’t look to be any memory card slots, so don’t plan on storing too many photos.

Fabrik SimpleTech [re]driveEverything seems to be going environmentally friendly today. You can get shirts made from recycled coke bottles at Wal-Mart if you want. World’s thinnest MP4 player from Chinavision
At just 4.5mm thin, the 4GB CVSJ-1304 from Chinavision is probably the world’s thinnest portable media player. That’s what the company is claiming and I think they might be right. With a 1.8 inch touch screen that has a resolution of 160 x 128, and support for media formats such as MP4, MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV, the player also has an FM tuner, rechargeable battery and USB connectivity. It’s not a bad looking player at that. How thin can we get and still be able to touch the device without breaking it?

Toshiba Tecra M10

The initial buzz of the new Intel Centrino 2 chip technology now seems to have died down as related laptops settle into regular purchasing habits. Two last laptops we thought we’d highlight from the flurry of announcements the other week are the Toshiba Tecra M10 and A10. The former has a starting price around $1,400, while the other model has yet to be priced.

These two updated flagship business laptops from Toshiba will include, besides the Centrino 2, other features such as hard drive protection, spill resistant keyboard, fingerprint reader and an eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port. You can even have Toshiba throw in a solid state drive if you have a little bit of extra cash to pony up for this option.

The Thanko Cooler USB keyboard works just like those bowling lane machines, with air vents to keep your hands dry. The built-in fan has a switch so you can turn it off whenever you don’t need it. Not sure how loud it is, but it will cost you $62.
