KeyScan keyboard with built-in color scanner
Do as many people use scanners any more? I don’t. But if I did, a flatbed scanner would take up a lot of desk real estate. When you do need a scanner, chances are a sheet-fed version would do the trick.

That’s where this combo comes in handy. Hailed as “The World’s Only PC Keyboard With Built-In Color Scanner”, this usb keyboard incorporates a bi-directional 600dpi color scanner that’s capable of scanning a full page document in 14-15 seconds. 5 seconds in gray scale mode. It’s a tad expensive at $159, but you save some space in your work area and are really paying for convenience.

MingJong M6637U robotic webcams to take over world one desk at a time
A Taiwanese company known as MingJong has released some colorful robotic UVC compliant USB 2.0 webcams called ‘M6637U’ that sport 1.3-megapixels.

These little guys have the right idea. If you want to take over the world, you have to appeal to those lovers of cute and colorful desk accessories. Put a bunch together and they are clearly interacting, comparing notes for our eventual assimilation. Then when a human comes back into the room they all freeze. There’s not a whole lot of info on these guys, but be weary. Never turn your back on one.

Crystal USB speakers for your desktop
Speakers that look like ice aren’t just for the desktop in Superman’s Fortress Of Solitude somewhere in the arctic. They’ll look good on your desk too. And they are extremely portable and said to be the smallest performance stereo USB speakers you can get for your desktop and notebook.

They only have a 1 watt per channel rating, but hey, they’ll look good on your desk. Like icy bling. They’ll probably make you feel cool on a hot day just looking at them. They’re powered via USB, and acoustically engineered to direct sound waves towards an adjacent chamber for $39.99.

Return of the USB-powered Batman spotlight

Return of the USB-powered Batman spotlight
We first told you about the Bat Signal spotlight back in March. But back then no one had seen the latest Dark Knight flick yet. So it’s only natural that we would see another version now that the movie has come out. In this DIY version, they’ve updated the Bat Symbol itself to the one from the new films.

See, that’s why Batman never showed up when you called. You were using an outdated bat symbol. This one looks much cooler. You’ll need a couple of old bottle caps, tinfoil(Some of you already have hats you can tear a piece off of), cheap USB light, small piece of clear plastic, cardboard, soldiering iron, hot glue gun, paint, and some time. Then you’ll be annoying your cubicle mates in no time.

Take Anywhere power source…everywhere

Take Anywhere power source…everywhereThe Take Anywhere Electrical Power Source does away with the need for a travel adapter. It features a rechargeable 10-amp battery with more than enough juice to power a laptop not for one hour, not for two, but for three hours. It will power a cell phone for 15 hours of talk time, and even an iPod nano several times supposedly.

As for size, it’s smaller than most briefcases and sports a few AC outlets, a DC outlet, USB port, and is even outfitted with an LED for a flashlight. The internal battery can hold a charge for up to three months so you don’t have to babysit this thing to make sure you’ll have juice. The device will retail for $199.95 and would be pretty handy for those who travel a lot.

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on August 13th, 2008

Logitech V550 Nano mouse is always nearbyMany of you are not comfortable with your laptop’s touchpad and whenever possible choose to use a real mouse. Well, not a real one that eats cheese and spreads disease, squeaking when you click it. A computer mouse. But that’s not convenient when you’re on the go. The Logitech V550 Nano mouse could be your new favorite toy.

It has a Clip-and-Go dock that sticks to your notebook’s casing, so you can clip the cordless mouse to the outside, then take it with you. It’s a nice simple solution. This mouse also sports Logitech’s rapid-scroll wheel and an 18-month battery life. Oh, did I mention it also has a tiny wireless receiver that doesn’t stick out from the USB port? The V550 is available this month for $60 and it should make life easier for you.

Donkey Kong would love the USB Beer Barrel speaker

Donkey Kong would love the USB Beer Barrel speaker
If Donkey Kong were created today instead of hundreds of years ago, this is what Donkey Kong would throw at Mario. Since it’s a speaker, the Donkey Kong theme music could play right from the barrel as Mario jumps over it. But never mind the weird connections that my brain associates with certain gadgets.

This beer barrel thing is a portable speaker for your phone or laptop. For some reason. Very portable and a great accessory to bring with you when you travel, since it will fit in your suitcase easily. You can get it for $14.00 from Brando. If any Princess-napping apes are reading this, buy these and throw them at Mario. Because I’d really like to see that.
