Gizmodo found some hand’s on pics of Microsoft’s new wireless Arc mouse, which we told you about some time ago. The verdict? Looks just as drool-worthy as it did back then. The $60 mouse is portable and folds in half, thanks to a “strong metal hinge,”. Apparently the USB dongle slips into the underbelly of the mouse when not in use with a simple magnet. You also get a storage bag. According to the package you’ll get a 30-foot range. Looks sweet. What do you think? Are you good with your old mouse, or will you be rocking the Arc?

Like lollipops or Popsicles, some of us like our software on a USB drive. So, looks like some German guy is offering a no-install, “lite” version of the Google CHROME BROWSER. Google on a stick if you will. On a USB flash drive. Carsten created a portable version of Google Chrome that has all the features of the main browser but requires no installation. Just unzip all the files and start using it. It will run directly from the USB stick on any Windows computer and all of your user settings like web history, cookies, etc. will also get saved to the same folder on the stick. The software is downloadable.

Today Transcend introduced it’s new 64GB JetFlashV20 high-capacity USB flash drive. The device claims to provide seamless data exchange between different operating systems including Windows, Mac and Linux. Users can download and install Transcend’s free JetFlash software pack onto the V20 flash drive to enable V20 to automatically log on to website accounts, temporarily lock the computer to prevent unauthorized access. At 64GB, you can store a ton of data in this little drive with a fast USB 2.0 data transfer. It comes bundled with JetFlash software including Website AutoLogin, PC-Lock, Mobile Favorites, Secret-Zip, E-Mail, DataBackup, and Online Update

I feel like I’ve just been slimed with this item. Call me a dork, but the Ghostbusters movie is a classic. And I can’t think of anything better then getting the movie pre-loaded on a flash drive from PNY.

The drive offers 2GB of storage capacity. The only question I have is in regards to the format of the movie file. The 2GB drive is able to store 12 hours of video, 33 hours of music, or 1,080 pictures. No pricing info yet. Apparently this is the first time a full-length movie has been released via a USB flash drive. Why Ghostbusters? Why not!

If you love retro and think that the cassette died way before it’s time you might want to check out this four port cassette USB hub. It goes good with the cassette mp3 player and if you never entered the 21st century and have cassettes lying around, who’s going to notice the difference?

You can even write the name of a retro artist or album on it. I don’t know, say Night Ranger, Journey or Styx. Those who prefer to have an 8-Track hub will have to wait I guess. It will cost you about $23. I love the warning they give on the website, for those who ate too much lead as a kid: “This is not a real cassette tape and attempts to play it in a cassette player could cause serious damage to your stereo and the hub.” You’ve been warned.

Harmon-Kardon offers the latest in the speakers that look like ice trend. At last Superman has many speaker options to choose from, for his Fortress of Solitude. Wonder Woman is pretty happy too, because these match her invisible plane.

I like the angles on these. They look vaguely alien. Harmon Kardon unveiled the GLA-55 see-through speakers at IFA 2008. They offer a 100-watt bi-amplified digital amplifier coupled with DSP equalization along with proprietary tech like the Atlas AL drivers and woofers and a CMMD tweeter, plus optimization for digital sound. They sport touch sensitive controls and they do stand out. They should be available in autumn 2008 worldwide. No word on pricing.

If you’re going for the look of a bullet entering your laptop, this USB drive is perfect. It’s a series of awesome looking flash drives that are a collaboration between Crooks & Castles and Hellz with branding & strategic consulting firm Mojo Laboratories.

The drives have 1GB of storage capacity and come loaded with storage instead of gunpowder. These aren’t armor piercing, they’re laptop and USB port piercing. One word of warning, if your job requires you to have bullets lying around, don’t get confused and grab the wrong ones.

Seems like the classic band Journey is clinging to fame by the skin of it’s gadget loving teeth. First their was the Journey DAP, which had us scratching our heads, now with this Journey USB flash drive we’re wondering if we should expect a comeback.

It features the Golden Gate Scarab and Journey Logo. What’s weird is that it has no music on it’s whooping 256MB of memory. Not even an image file. For $45 even die-hard fans would call this a rip-off. If you buy this one, you deserve to have your credit card ripped from your hand and your butt-crack swiped with it until you need a maxi-pad. Seriously.

Baseball fans can now show some love for their favorite team with a MLB Baseball cap USB mouse. You can choose from 17 Major League Baseball logo designs. Specs include: 800 cpi, compatible with windows XP, ME, 2000 and 98, Button swap for left or right handed users and all the other stuff a mouse does to enrich your life. It will cost you $24.95 and hopefully they have your team. Get a mousepad with your favorite MLB players bald spot and it’s perfect.

I have said it before, and I will say it again — PC gamers need a good set of headphones. Headphones are a great way to keep the neighbors/wife/girlfriend/mom from complaining every time you fire up Call of Duty to frag some noobs. Headphones also let you hear more nuances of the sound as well.

Plantronics makes all sorts of headphones and headsets for different tasks — including PC gaming. The latest gaming headphones from Plantronics are called the GameCom 777 and are connected to the PC and powered by one USB connection. The headphones have a built-in USB sound card and utilize Dolby Pro Logic II and virtual 5.1 surround sound.

The olympics are over, but the gadgets continue thanks to Lenovo. How about a set of five wired USB mice named after each of the Fuwa mascots: Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying and NiNi? If you can believe it, the mouse asymmetrical design took six months to complete, after two hundred or so modifications. We’re taking that one with many grains of salt.

At 1000 dpi optical, the mice are elevated for palm support during prolonged use. The Fuwas are UV painted so they won’t get all scratched up when you make them fight each other on your desk. Each mascot mouse retails for about $20, but it looks like they’re available in China and Hong Kong only.

The new Samsung X360 laptop looks like it might be something special, measuring in at only 0.66-inches thick and weighing 2.8-pounds, it obviously wants to compete with the MacBook Air. The 13.3-inch laptop is powered by a Centrino 2 ULV processor and sports 1GB of RAM and can support up to 4GB.

You can choose from 64GB or 128GB SSD, or a 5400RPM 120GB HDD, X4500 integrated graphics. Some other features are a 7-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, PCI ExpressCard/34, HDMI, VGA, LAN, docking port, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR and a 1.3 megapixel camera. No optical drive. The battery will supposedly give you 6 to 10 hours. No word on price yet.

When you think about the French, chances are you think comedy involving mimes and baguettes dancing with their comedy god Jerry Lewis. Is that just me? Alright then. The French are doing something interesting with USB and trains. A kind of wireless easy-pass for trains. French public transportation company SNCF is getting 1,000 customers to help it test an RFID-enabled smart card that doubles as a USB drive, known as the Weneo ID Smart.

SNCF wants to expand its contactless payment system, and the plan would allow customers to plug their train passes into their PC at home. Which makes sense, because at home they can add money to their account, avoid missing trains because the train is pulling away as they rush to put money onto a card, and it probably helps with crowds as well. Schedules can also be downloaded to the card and it’s a photo ID. Once on the train, the fare would be deducted from the card by an RFID reader or an attendant with a handheld device. They’ll have to see if it’s a success first, but if so, the SNCF may want everyone using the system by 2010.

This thing looks like it’s alien in origin, but it’s made right here on Earth. It’s the future people! It’s the size of a small apple. And they crammed a lot inside. A 300 MHz processor, 16MB of onboard flash memory, 64MB of SDRAM, and a 1GB CompactFlash card loaded with Red Hat Linux. On the outside, it’s got a single USB port, VGA, Ethernet port, RS232 port, and mic and speaker plugs.

The entire deal is powered by a 5V plug. But that’s not all. It’s also got a “Space Wire” port, which is a proprietary interface used by people like the ESA, NASA and JAXA, for when the Cube actually goes into space. Get it? Space cube. But it’s not just for space, you can get your own soon, “once a few technical issues have been ironed out”. They will retail for as much as $2,769.

Many people who shoot lots of digital pictures are big fans of digital photo frames. The frames give somewhere for all of the digital pictures they shoot to be viewed. Digital frames have become much more useful since makers have begun integrating Wi-Fi into the frames.

Samsung introduced four new digital photo frames today called the SPF-85H, SPF-85V, SPF-105P, and SPF-105V. The 85 models have an 8-inch screen and the 105 models both have a 10-inch screen. Both the 85V and 105V have built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with 802.11b/g. The Wi-Fi frames are optimized for Windows Live Spaces for photo sharing and can display RSS feeds from USA Today and more.
