HP’s CEO Leo Apotheker has confirmed at the latest HP Summit that the TouchPad will be available starting in June of 2011. The device will be released in the US first, with global availability following soon after. To refresh your memory, the WebOS 3.0-powered tablet features a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768) multi-touch capacitive display, and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor.

Other specs include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, an accelerometer, a light sensor, A-GPS (3G modes only), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a micro-USB port, 3.5mm headset jack and a 6300mAh battery. The HP TouchPad is priced starting at $499.

If your laptop is known to overheat, then you better get a laptop cooler, before it melts down. But the problem with coolers is that every laptop gets hot in different places, and not every cooler will work for the same laptop.

NEC has just announced the LifeTouch Note, an Android powered netbook that comes with Android 2.2 Froyo and features a 7 inch LCD resistive touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. The NEC LifeTouch Note also includes an NVIDIA Tegra 250 2-core 1GHz processor, 8GB of built in storage, and a two megapixel camera.

The NEC LifeTouch Note also features 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GPS, an SDHC card slot, a USB 2.0 port, and 3G connectivity.

HP has announced some new consumer notebooks that are based on HP’s MUSE (materials, usability, sensory appeal and experience) design philosophy. The new notebooks can be personalized with your choice of 17 exclusive wallpapers designed by six artists.

The Pavilion dv6 and dv7 notebooks use design elements from the company’s ENVY line and feature sleek metal finishing, HP’s exclusive Beats Audio, USB 3.0, on-board quad speakers and the dv7 also includes a subwoofer. Screen sizes are 15.6 and 17.3 inches and are powered by Intel’s second-generation Core i5 and i7 processors and optional AMD Radeon 6000 graphics. You also have the option of a Blu-ray disc player and up to 1TB of storage on the dv6 and 2TB of storage on the dv7.

Looking for a new gaming notebook? The MSi GT680R-008US, which is equipped with Intel’s new Sandy Bridge platform might be what you want. I don’t know about you, but Hank Hill will surely love this new audio player that comes in the shape of a gas tank. It’s available in both gold or silver. You would have to really love propane to buy one of these. It has a built-in speaker and an FM radio, and it can play audio files from USB flash drives and memory cards.

This device is powered by built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it can also be used as a PC speaker or authentic redneck decoration. It leaves me saying one word. Why?

Chinavasion is offering another Android tablet of their own in this overcrowded market, the Eximus. This device is powered by a 720MHz processor, is ultra-thin and features a 7-inch 800 x 480 resistive touchscreen display with 256MB RAM and 1GB of internal storage.

Other features include a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), WiFi, a USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headset jack, built-in 2W speakers and it runs on Android 2.1 OS. The Eximus will cost you $126.54.

Eton Corporation has just announced the new Eton Mobius iPhone 4 battery pack, which will give you extra juice while you are out and about. The Eton Mobius can be charged via a USB port, but it is also equipped with a large enhanced Monocrystal solar panel on the back which is almost as big as the iPhone itself. Solar powered charging usually doesn’t look this good.

The Eton Mobius has a 1800mAh battery and will add about 20mm to your iPhone’s thickness, while doubling your iPhone’s battery life. It will charge your iPhone directly from the sun at a rate of 20minutes of talk time for every hour in the sun.

NEC recently unveiled their latest dual-screen Android tablet, the ‘LT-W Cloud Communicator’ at CES 2011. The device is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex processor and has two 7-inch 800 x 600 TFT LCD touchscreen displays.

Other specs include a 3.0-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, an SDHC card slot, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 3G or 4G (optional), an accelerometer sensor, two USB ports and it runs on Android 2.1.

Samsung has launched a tablet with a slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard. The device is powered by the Intel Atom “Oak Trail” processor and is based on the Windows 7 operating system. The slide-out keyboard gives you the option of a multi-touch display or full keyboard and mouse interface.

It features a 10.1-inch multi-touch display with a 340-nit brightness and HD resolution of 1366 x 768. You don’t see many radios powered by Google’s Android OS. The Asteroid by Parrot is one of the few to be powered by the Android OS and it also offers three USB ports that allow you to hook up your other devices, including a 3G card or GPS USB device.

You can play music from a variety of sources, like MP3 players or SD cards. Aside from that there’s also Parrot Maps, a service that offers turn-by-turn navigation and traffic and construction alerts. Bluetooth connectivity will give you voice dialing and hands-free calling, as well as voice-activated artist search.

Planex has announced it’s latest router in the MKZ-RP150N pocket router. The device is pretty simple. It has just a single connection for Ethernet, and will support WiFi and basic DNS services. It measures 42mm x 15mm x 55.2mm and weighs just 27 grams, hence the name.

This USB-powered portable router retails for about $41, and may be a good alternative to Apple’s AirPort Express at that price.

LG has unveiled the world’s first phone with a dual core processor. The phone runs on the dated Android 2.2, but LG is promising Gingerbread updates. We still have awhile to wait for this phone, but we will surely see it at CES before it’s 2011 arrival.
