The price of SSDs keeps coming down and as they get cheaper, they are getting more and more attractive to me. I would like to put one in my work computer to speed things up. The things that I worry about when upgrading a HDD is getting data off the old drive and onto the new one and then what to do with the old HDD after the SSD update is complete.
Imation has unveiled a new SSD Upgrade Kit today that includes an external enclosure for your old drive so you can use it as an external storage device after the upgrade. The enclosure requires no power supply, which means it can be powered by USB.

PC maker Haleron is the company behind several dual core and dual processor netbooks. Now the company sets their sites on nettops with the new Haleron H-BOX line of low power desktops. The Haleron H-BOX features a dual core Intel Atom 330 CPU and NVIDIA ION graphics. And it weighs less than 2.2 pounds. According to Haleron it’s less than 1/30th the size of a desktop PC, but they don’t specify which desktop PC being compared to.

I have a few external optical drives in my office that I use when I am working on my netbook. The things are a few years old and are not at all thin. As far as USB gadgets go, nothing beats a little peeing man. I mean it’s a little man that pees. Your other gadgets don’t pee. It’s probably supposed to be used as a fountain or something, but really it’s completely useless. Thanko simply knows that if they build it, you will buy it…if it pees.
