Samsung Nexus S is official

The new Google Phone is official. The Nexus S is built by Samsung, with a curved 4-inch AMOLED screen, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, NFC support, and it’s running a completely clean version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

This new Google phone has 16GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM, along with a gyroscope and VoIP support. It will be available unlocked or on T-Mobile, though according to Google’s product page it doesn’t support T-Mobile’s 4G-ish HSPA+ network.

Samsung sells one million Galaxy Tabs

When your device is picked up and marketed by all four major carriers in America, you can move a lot of units. This arrangement has helped Samsung’s Galaxy Tab sales soar. It has just passed the one million mark in global sales of the 7-inch Android tablet.

However they point out that Samsung’s not clear on whether that’s units in the sales channel or units in the hands of consumers. Either way, one million units is something to celebrate. Only 600,000 had been sold as of November 22nd. Now they are hoping to move 1.5 million of them by the year’s end.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 Froyo update delayed

Yesterday there was news that T-Mobile had announced that they would be pushing out an OTA update for the Samsung Galaxy S to Android 2.2 Froyo. Samsung said that if they had problems with the OTA update that it would be available today from Samsung’s KIES software as well.

Sadly, T-Mobile has just announced that the Android 2.2 update for the Galaxy S will be delayed for another week. You would think that they would be ready for the update when they announced it, but that’s not the case.

Dell Venue Pro available to order

The Dell Venue Pro is now finally one step closer to launch as Dell has begun taking online orders for its first Windows Phone 7 device. Prices are $99 for the 8GB handset or $149 for the 16GB version. That’s with two-year contracts with T-Mobile as your carrier.

The other alternative is paying $449 for each if you just want the phone and no contract. Shipping is December 9th and they throw in free delivery too if you are willing to wait a few extra days.

Best Buy offers free GPS with iPod touch, free smartphones

Best Buy today has kicked off a post-Thanksgiving sale with a heavy emphasis on iPods. If you buy an 8GB fourth-generation iPod touch, you get a free GPS unit from the store’s in-house Insignia brand. Other iPods are also on sale, ranging from $5 for a fourth-generation iPod shuffle to $10 off new iPod nanos and $15 off the iPod classic.

It’s a good day to buy an iPod it seems. Zune too. If you want a Zune HD, you can also get a deal, as those who buy the 16GB or 32GB models can get a Zune HD AV Dock for free.

Google Nexus S listed on Best Buy website

Rumors have been swirling around the interwebs that Google will be releasing a follow up to their Nexus One smartphone, the Nexus 2 or Nexus S. We had previously heard that Samsung would be making it for the big G.

However, then Samsung released a statement saying that they were not making a Nexus 2 smartphone for Google. Now it looks as if Samsung was just playing the “deny everything” card. A new smartphone was spotted listed on Best Buy, the Nexus S, with the tagline ‘Pure Google’. Best Buy has since taken the page down.

Samsung Galaxy Tab now available at T-Mobile

You’ve been waiting and drooling and now T-Mobile USA has opened up sales for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7-inch tablet. The tablet will cost you $399.99 with a two-year contract or $599.99 without a contract.

As far as data plans, T-Mobile is offering customers a $24.99 a month plan for 200MB of data, or $39.99 a month for 5GB. Both plans offer unlimited use of T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots. You also get unlimited text messaging and MMS on both data plans.

Dell Venue Pro clears FCC

The Venue Pro has cleared FCC and is heading straight to T-Mobile. It’s a slider with a QWERTY beneath the 4.1-inch display screen. Performance is expected to be good with a 1GHz processor under the hood.

Unfortunately, the FCC filing doesn’t give us any other details. For T-Mobile customers, there’s rumors that the Venue Pro could launch on the network November 8th, when AT&T will be busy launching their own Windows Phone 7 handsets.

Qik to power T-Mobile’s mobile video chat service

Looks like Qik will be behind T-Mobile’s mobile video chat service. T-Mobile Video Chat will offer integration into the native Android address book with the benefit of indicating live presence, enabling users to connect with friends and family via live video conversations and video messaging over T-Mobile’s network.

The integrated video chat service will be available on the upcoming myTouch 4G handset and will “allow users not only to conduct live two-way video conversations from their mobile device, but also will allow users to leave video messages.” Video messages are supported on over 200 phone models.

LG Optimus T hitting T-Mobile on November 3 for $30

US carriers with brand new smartphones for $30 on contract? We’re talking about LG’s Optimus T, featuring a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 3 megapixel cam, and pre-loaded Swype with Android 2.2.

If you want to get that $29.99 price, obviously you’ll need to sign up for a new two-year contract with a qualifying data plan, and then wait patiently for a $50 mail-in rebate. The phone goes on sale Wednesday, November 3 and comes in black or burgundy colors. I’m not digging the burgundy myself.

Motorola DEFY arrives on T-Mobile November 3rd

The Motorola DEFY is more or less aimed at teens, with some good features and good looks. It runs Android 2.1, sports a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen and the promise of T-Mobile-backed WiFi routed calls in the near future.

It’s priced at just $99.99 with a new, two-year agreement. The smartphone also has Flash Lite and an LED flash, and is waterproof/dustproof. You won’t have long to wait as it hits T-Mobile on November 3rd.

T-Mobile gearing up for Pre-paid changes

You might already heard the rumor that T-Mobile was planning some changes to its prepaid mobile offerings and now some documents have leaked, which give us an idea of what to expect.

One of the changes includes bumping the lowest price refill option to $30, which is up from the original $25 refill card. The changes should arrive on Wednesday, October 20th. You can check out the full list of leaked documents if you need more details on the upcoming changes.

T-Mobile G2 OTA update brings Wi-Fi and Hotspot creation

T-Mobile G2 owners could not have been happy about the recent loose hinge and missing storage issues, but we have some good news that might ease their pain. T-Mobile has just released an over-the-air update for the phone, offering features like Wi-Fi Calling, mobile hotspot creation and also some performance tweaks.

You can expect the rollout to be done in stages. Now we can only hope that those hardware issues will also be addressed.

Leaked T-Mobile HTC HD7 looks great

The HTC HD7 has a gorgeous body, but you may just love her for her mind since this beauty is running Windows Phone 7. The leaked specs include: A 4.3″ 800×480 screen, a 5-megapixel camera, 576MB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage.

We don’t know yet if the HD7 can do HSPA+ and take advantage of T-Mobile’s “4G” speeds. Pricing is said to be at $199.99 after a 2-year agreement.
