Best Buy offering free Nexus S for one day

Have you been on the fence about getting a Nexus S? Well, Best Buy has announced that starting last night (August 2nd) at midnight it will begin offering the Google Nexus S for free. You’ll still have to have a two-year agreement with AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile, but it beats full price.

Better hurry because if you wait a day later the price will jump back up. We imagine Best Buy will be very busy today with this news.

T-Mobile Gets Windows Phone 7 4G Stickers For Future Display

Here ya go Windows Phone 7 fans. This may be the first bit of evidence that a 4G Windows Phone 7 device is coming to T-Mobile. As you might know, T-Mobile stores often get display unit stickers, graphics and images long before a phone arrives and in this case it looks like a new Windows Phone 7 device is coming.

There is a distinct difference between the Windows Phone 7 stickers and 4G Windows Phone 7 stickers. Right now the only possible Windows Phone 7 device that has been rumored is the HTC Bresson, with it’s 16 megapixel camera.

RadioShack ditches T-Mobile for Verizon on September 15th

RadioShack ditches T-Mobile for Verizon on September 15th Radio Shack is ending its partnership with T-Mobile in favor of a new one with Verizon, which will be joining current partners AT&T and Sprint. If you want a T-Mobile phone or service plan at Radio Shack the last day to get one is September 14th.

The next day Verizon moves in and setting up shop the very next day. The partnership with T-mobile was apparently unprofitable and also a very rocky relationship. Better get that T-Mobile phone from the Shack now.

First Samsung Slider for Boost Mobile Shows Up

It was thought that Samsung’s SPH-M930 would be coming to Sprint as the followup to the mid-range Transform (SPH-M920), but now it looks like this model will be landing at Sprint-Nextel’s prepaid operator Boost Mobile.

This device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1GHz MSM8655 SoC from Qualcomm, up to an HVGA-resolution display and a camera as low as two megapixels. The M930 has picked up its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications, but hasn’t received FCC approval, so it’s probably still a month or two from release.

If you’ve been drooling over the myTouch 4G, then we know that you’ve had a hard time waiting for it. Well, wipe that drool off of your chin, because the time has finally come. You can now order the myTouch 4G Slide from T-Mobile for $199.99 with the normal requirements, or $499.99 outright.

It comes in your choice of khaki and black and you might even get it before it’s officially available in stores on the 27th. So, who is ordering one?

T-Mobile rolls out optional caller ID service

A new subscription service will let certain T-Mobile customers get more information about unknown callers. The new caller ID service for certain phones will display the name, city, and state of callers, including unknown callers, not just the people in your contact list. Now you can know for sure who is calling and from where.

Name ID will cost $3.99 per month after a free 10-day trial. Right now it’s available for the Samsung Exhibit 4G, but will make it’s way to other handsets after awhile. The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide should get it before the month is over.

HTC Marvel hits the FCC

The FCC’s database has yielded a mysterious HTC smartphone going by the PG76240 model name, with support for T-Mobile’s HSPA+ frequencies, which means that another HTC model might hit the carrier soon. There aren’t many details to go on, but it look like it will be the HTC Marvel.

The Marvel is just an HTC Wildfire S with support for T-Mobile’s network, and both devices share similar model numbers – PG76240 and PG76100. It’s just guesswork for now, but we should have confirmation soon.

HTC Sensation 4G available at T-Mobile, $150 online

Walmart shoppers got a head start on the rest of us, but now everyone else can get the HTC Sensation 4G direct from T-Mobile. The list price is $200 on a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate, and you can also get an extra $50 off when you order online.

That makes the cost $150. The same price that Walmart’s been selling it for. The phone features a 4.3-inch qHD screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and Android 2.3 with Sense. Sound good?

Samsung Exhibit 4G and Gravity Smart coming to T-Mobile on June 22nd, Dart is here now

It’s not a surprise, but T-Mobile has confirmed some earlier rumors involving three Android-based phones from Samsung. The Samsung Exhibit 4G and Gravity Smart will both be launching on June 22nd, and the Samsung Dart is available today for free with a two-year contract.

The Exhibit 4G is the highest-end here, with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Android 2.3. The Gravity Smart has Android 2.2 and a QWERTY keyboard, while the Dart is a low-end mystery as far as specs are concerned. We do know that it has a 600MHz processor and 3.1-inch QVGA display.

Starbucks mobile payment app for Android

Since they already have their own iOS app, Starbucks is now bringing mobile payments to Android users, as well. The Starbucks for Android app is free. Just add credit to your mobile Starbucks Card and scan the app’s barcode at the cash register.

It’s available on devices running Android 2.1 or later and the service will also locate all Starbucks shops in your area and offer even more incentives via Starbucks’ rewards program. Right now, there are about 6,800 stores that support mobile payments and the company is planning to add an additional 1,000 locations in July.

T-Mobile G-Slate Now Just $399.99 With Contract

T-Mobile has lowered the price of the G-Slate Android tablet to $399.99 with a 2-year contract and after a $200 mail-in rebate. Not bad right? If you were thinking about getting one, now is the time.

You might remember that the G-Slate features an 8.9-inch 1280 x 768 3D-capable touchscreen display, a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, a front-facing 2.0-megapixel camera, two 3D rear cameras, 32GB of internal storage, a gyroscope sensor, 1080p Full HD video playback support, GPS, WiFi, an HDMI port, a 6400mAh battery and Android 3.0 Honeycomb is running the show.

Walmart selling the HTC Sensation 4G early

Looks like Walmart has already started selling the HTC Sensation 4G. Not a big deal except this is before the official release date of the phone. We aren’t sure if all Walmarts have the device for sale, but they’ve sold many of them already. People have been buying it from Walmart for $148.88 bundled with an 8GB microSD card.

To refresh your memory, the HTC Sensation features a 4.3″ qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a front facing camera, DLNA, HSPA+ support, and comes preloaded with HTC Listen, T-Mobile TV, T-Mobile video chat, and Slacker Radio. It was first announced for $199.99 after a $50 rebate with a 2-year contract, so that $148.88 is pretty good.

Samsung Dart to arrive on T-Mobile

A few days back T-Mobile announced 2 new mid range Android phones, the Samsung Exhibit 4G, available in Black and Violet, and the Samsung Gravity Smart. However there is another mid range Android phone coming to T-Mobile. The Samsung Dart, otherwise known as the Samsung T499 or Galaxy Mini.

The Samsung Dart is the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy Mini, and will come in gray. The Samsung Dart will feature a 240x 320 screen, a 2MP Camera, no flash, 3G bands, Bluetooth 2.1, Android 2.2.

T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Slide revealed in accessory photos

HTC DoubleShot is the code name for the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide that is coming soon. And today we have some accessory cases showing how the final design will most likely look. T-Mobile has not announced this device, but it will likely be sometime soon.

It looks like it features a dual LED flash and they’ve moved the speaker down below. It will look similar to the original myTouch 4G but with a slide out QWERTY keyboard and that new dual-core Snapdragon processor.

These days phones have invaded every aspect of our lives. However according to the experts at WHO, they emit radio-frequency waves which when absorbed by the human body prove harmful. The powers-that-be have come up with a standard called Specific absorption rate (SAR) and the FCC now requires cell phone makers to report the SAR level of their devices. The upper cap on acceptable levels is less than or equal to 1.6 watts per kilogram (W/kg).
