Samsung Galaxy S II / Galaxy Within for Sprint spotted?

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on July 17th, 2011

Many believe that Sprint and other US carriers are preparing releases of branded handsets based on the Galaxy S II, Samsung’s successor to the Galaxy S. Now some new shots seem to support this rumor. One shows the textured back of a device bearing both Sprint and Samsung logos along with an 8 megapixel camera.

The texture and camera are similar to what we’re expecting from S II-based models, so it makes sense. It might be called the Galaxy Within when it launches within days or weeks. It will probably be marketed as a high-end alternative to the EVO 3D that swaps 3D support for Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus display tech.

You shouldn’t kick someone when they are down, but that is just what Lulz Security has done by breaking into SonyPictures.com. It claims to have stolen the personal information of over 1,000,000 users, stored in plain text format.

Lulz says that it was done with a simple SQL injection. Part of the group’s exploit is even posted online in a RAR file, which contains over 50,000 emails and passwords of users. Poor Sony. They just can’t catch a break. The Playstation store was only just restored and now this.

Revolver Camera shoots a bullet, takes a picture

Posted in Weapons by Conner Flynn on May 19th, 2011

Photographers who also like to shoot guns will love this weapon. This weapon fires bullets and takes pictures at the same time. It was apparently used in 1938 in New York. The gun is a Colt 38 and it had a tiny camera attached to it that was controlled by the trigger.

We don’t have much more information than that, but it’s impressive. One thing is for sure, you don’t want to be in these pictures. Good thing nobody else got their hands on it. I can easily imagine some whack job firing away at people and posting the pics online. Yeah, this is not a good combination here.

Some Xbox 360s not reading discs: Microsoft to give owners a new system, year of XBL

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on May 18th, 2011

Looks like Sony isn’t the only gaming giant having problems. Microsoft’s new disc format will allow for an extra 1GB of storage space for new games and hopefully stop piracy, but there is a problem. It looks like some consoles contain drives that can’t read the new XGD3 discs. Opps.

The email pictured above has been confirmed as real by the Xbox Support Twitter account, but now it’s responding to inquiries by saying that the replacements are in response to a previous update and not the upcoming one that has been in beta.

Sony Nex C3 Specs Leaked

Posted in Cameras by Conner Flynn on May 16th, 2011

A leaked photo of the new Sony Nex C3 showed up awhile back and now we can share some of it’s specifications, like a new 16.2 megapixel Sony Exmor sensor for starters. Aside from that the Sony NEX C3 is said to have an ISO range of 200 to 12800 and is capable of recording HD video in 720p. There is also a new menu interface and a bunch of new picture effects.

Other features include 25 AF points, a 1/4000 top shutter speed, a 3 inch LCD display and a built in HDR function, as well as face detection and an improved battery life compared to the previous Nex models. Sounds pretty sweet, but how much will it cost?
