Older geeks listen up. Do you miss all the fun of using a good old fashioned rotary dialler? You know, back when just entering seven digits took forever, accompanied by that sound of the dial turning back in place with each number.

The iDial is an application for your iPhone that might just bring back memories. Those days were pretty damn inconvenient, but on some levels you might say that we actually had more interaction with our devices. I guess that’s because we did half the work. The iDial is just a download away.

The iRiver Spinn is sexy
iRiver’s new PMP looks pretty damn sexy. It’s called the Spinn and has a 3.2″ AMOLED display capable of displaying a 480 x272 resolution which is a widescreen format. Video is displayed at 30 frames per second and it can be used as a photo viewer and MP3 player. iRiver also threw in an FM tuner, DMB for those areas which support it, and text viewer. That’s a nice set of features in this great looking PMP.

As far as connectivity, the Spinn supports Bluetooth and USB. Controlling the device is done with a toggle wheel on the right. Memory sizes are from 4GB up to 16GB. Due out later this year the iRiver Spinn is bound to do very well and get very far on looks alone.

Star Wars joysticks

These Star Wars Plug and Play joysticks come loaded with games inside, and geek detail on the outside. Your choice of Darth Vader or the Millenium Falcon. The Darth Vader Joystick comes with 5 games and is the more expensive of the pair at $30. I imagine it must look like you are strangling Vader in your hands as you play games like Coruscant Attack, Grievous Onslaught, Droid Invasion, Gunship Battle and Utapu Chase.

And the Millennium Falcon version has an actual joystick and is only $15. What the Falcon isn’t as cool as Darth Vader? Maybe it’s just that joysticks are outdated. This one includes four different games: Assault on Hoth, Red Leader, Battle of Endor and Lightsaber Duel.

USB desk lamp changes colors the faster your typeAlthough it makes me shudder every time, when I see this lamp I envision a multitude of these little things mounted on the walls of programmer cube farms so managers can make sure the keyboards are always going. Due to this I think this lamp is just a horrible invention. Of course, I’m sure it can be used for purposes of good as well, and with a little therapy I can probably get there.
