LG GW620 Android Smartphone now available in the UK

LG’s first Android powered smartphone is now available in the UK. The LG GW620 packs in a 3 inch touchscreen, a five megapixel camera and a slide out QWERTY keyboard, with WiFi and Bluetooth.

Folks in the UK can get the LG GW620 through T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile. T-Mobile is offering the handset for free with a £20 a month two year contract with unlimited data access. Virgin Mobile is offering the LG GW620 free with a £22 a month contract, which lasts for eighteen months, with unlimited data and texts.

Virgin Mobile USA launches Rumor 2 from LG

lgrumor2-sbPre-paid mobile provider Virgin Mobile USA unveiled a new device on its network today called the LG Rumor 2. The handset is available now for $129.99 making it an affordable device. The handset packs in many of the features that shoppers are looking for.

The device sports a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and a 1.3MP camera. The handset also has a MP3 music player, maps, IM, and email capability as well. Other features include text and pic messaging and mobile web access.

LG LX290 available from SprintIf you’re looking for an affordable slider, you may want to check out the newly launched LX290 from LG. You can get this handset via Sprint for just $29.99 with a 2-year contract agreement (after a $50 mail-in rebate).

As for specs, don’t expect anything powerful. Don’t even expect it to stand out from any crowd. It boasts a 1.33 x 1.77 inch QVGA TFT screen, a 1.3MP camera with 2x digital zoom, GPS (Sprint Navigation), Picture Messaging, Bluetooth, NFL Mobile Live, a 2.5mm headset jack and a 950 mAh battery for up to 6 hours of talk time.

Sony adds new GPS models to nav-u line

Sony took the wraps today off an expanded line up of its nav-u personal navigation devices. These new models – the NV-U94T, NV-U84, NV-U74T and NV-U44 – price around $400, $350, $300 and $250 respectively and will be available in September.

Sony says new features of these four just added nav-u GPS units include more brand icons, search functionality and photo viewing features. The top dog of this group is the NV-U94T, adding “a photo viewer, audio/video player and stereo Bluetooth technology for streaming audio and making hands-free phone calls using compatible devices.” You can get full details on these models after the jump.

Verizon announces three new tasty LG mobiles

LG DecoyVerizon Wireless is out today with three new innovative LG phones which should do some fun shaking up of the cellular provider’s line up when they debut in the next month or so. They are the LG Dare, LG Decoy (pictured) and LG Chocolate 3.

The phones, said Verizon, will offer their customers “touch-screens, music and more.” We’ve put after the jump the snippets of the Verizon press release which briefly detail the new models.

LG-KF700 offers three times the input fun

LG-KF700LG Electronics is showing off this week a number of interest cell phones for consumers. One which seems to be getting a lot of attention in particular is the upcoming LG-KF700, which will be available perhaps sometime this year in the United States after first hitting Europe.

The LG-KF700 offers up three separate input methods – three-inch touchscreen display, alpha-numeric keypad and a scroll dial. The latter is interesting in that it lets you scroll through six user-selected features by controlling a virtual dial on screen. It is also a media strong horse, offering MP3/MP4 playback and a three-megapixel camera, among other features.

Verizon turns Venus pink

Venus by LGVerizon Wireless and LG today added a new color to their Venus mobile phone: pink. This new LG by Venus phone is priced at around $200 after rebate and contract.

The pink Venus by LG is the same as the current model in Verizon’s line up except for the color. It is a slider design which provides you features like a two-megapixel digital camera, microSD expandable memory and support for mobile Web content. It can also play music files from formats like MP3, WMA and AAC.

Chocolate by LG gains new blue color

Blue IceVerizon Wireless and LG Mobile Phones are out today with word of a new Chocolate by LG phone color for all you fashion trend setters. This time around the color is dubbed “Blue Ice” and it is priced at around $80 and contract and rebate.

Verizon says this of this phone that “the silky-smooth slim slider design comes coated with a frosty blue finish.” Choke! Silly marketing language aside, what you do have here is a colorful slider phone for those looking for something a little different. This Chocolate phone, like others in the series, has your traditional features like vibration feedback, navigation wheel with red trace motion lighting and microSD memory card expansion.

LG brightens AT&T line up with Shine

AT&T LG ShineAT&T and LG want you to find a little extra something shiny in your stocking this year. The two have teamed to unveiled the exclusive LG Shine. It’s priced at around $150 after a two-year contract and rebate.

The LG Shine is described by AT&T as a mobile multimedia device. To that end it supports a variety of AT&T online services, including video sharing, mobile banking and mobile music. It’s a slider-style mobile which sports a silver exterior as well as a 2.2-inch mirror LCD screen.

Verizon unveils flashy new phones for the holidays

Verizon releases the LG Voyager, LG Venus and Samsung Juke and Blackberry Pearl mobile phones in a new lineup for the holidays to take on Apple’s iPhoneVerizon went ahead and unleashed four new phones all at once targeted at the fall shopping season trying to get a share of AT&T’s iPhone dollars. The new lineup includes the Voyager and Venus from LG along with the narrow Samsung Juke and the Blackberry Pearl sporting EV-DO.

The headliner of this Verizon release party is the LG Voyager looking very similar to the iPhone from the outside with a large touchscreen on the face. Once you get your hands on the Voyager you’ll see that it’s a little bulkier than the iPhone and that touchscreen face actually hinges open to expose another display inside that faces a large QWERTY keyboard, hence the thickness. The Voyager also has V CAST Mobile TV, a microSD slot and a modest 2 megapixel camera.

The enV by LG from Verizon
