White iPhone 4 shows up in AT&T’s inventory

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on January 24th, 2011

Last week there was word that the elusive White iPhone 4 had appeared on the inventory system of Vodafone Germany, and now it looks like the white iPhone 4 has also turned up in AT&T’s inventory. When last we heard from Apple on the subject of the white iPhone 4, they said it would be available in Spring 2011, so I guess we can expect the white iPhone 4 to go on sale very soon.

Seems like Apple wants to sell the white iPhone 4 to customers before they announce the new iPhone 5, and that announcement is expected in May, so we think the white iPhone 4 will finally be available soon and we can put this whole issue to rest.

Apple iPad 2 production starts next month, iPhone 5 this May

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on January 24th, 2011

There is hardly a day that goes by where we don’t have an iPad or iPhone rumor. Here is today’s. Apple’s overseas manufacturing partners will apparently start production of the iPad 2 next month, while they will also be building the fifth-generation iPhone in May.

Take this with the usual grains of salt until we have something more concrete. One thing is for sure, no matter when they start production, it won’t be soon enough for Apple fans.

Retro Calculator iPhone 4 case

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on January 22nd, 2011

This may look like an average retro calculator, but it is actually an iPhone 4 case with a super realistic looking decal. This retro calculator case consists of a clear hard plastic case plus the decal and retails for $19.50 on etsy.

Great for an April Fool’s day prank or an anytime prank. I bet it would even fool the nerdiest of math nerds. It looks very convincing. Except for the camera hole.

Apple releases Universal Bumper Case for Verizon and AT&T iPhone

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on January 21st, 2011

The new verizon iPhone 4 has a slightly different design than the original iPhone 4, which seems to have fixed the iPhone death grip issue, but now the original iPhone 4 bumper case will not fit the Verizon iPhone. And so Apple has released a new universal bumper case to fit both phones.

The main difference on the Verizon iPhone 4 is that the mute switch sits slightly lower than on the original iPhone 4, so the new bumper design makes sure that it will work with both versions of the iPhone 4.

Do you like the idea of paying for things by using your phone? What about coffee? Well, Starbucks has announced that its mobile payment test has concluded and that the service is now available in all stores around the country.

This means that you can now pay for your coffee if you use the iPhone or a Blackberry, using the official Starbucks App. The app can be funded using either your credit card or PayPal. Once your jittery coffee fueled hands get money in your app account, all you need to do is place your order and then hold your device with the barcode on the screen under the scanner at the counter. Pretty convenient no?

Eton Mobius iPhone Juice Pack

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 17th, 2011

Eton Corporation has just announced the new Eton Mobius iPhone 4 battery pack, which will give you extra juice while you are out and about. The Eton Mobius can be charged via a USB port, but it is also equipped with a large enhanced Monocrystal solar panel on the back which is almost as big as the iPhone itself. Solar powered charging usually doesn’t look this good.

The Eton Mobius has a 1800mAh battery and will add about 20mm to your iPhone’s thickness, while doubling your iPhone’s battery life. It will charge your iPhone directly from the sun at a rate of 20minutes of talk time for every hour in the sun.

Jabba The Hutt iPad Docking Station

We already know that Jabba likes to decorate his palace with things like, oh I don’t know, smugglers frozen in carbonite and whatnot. But what you may not have known is that he also loves to have a huge iPad docked right in front of him. Probably helps him sleep or something.

This natural wood dock will sync up your iPad, iPhone and iPod in style. Jabba’s style. Which is grabbing a toad out of your bong water and eating it up, while laughing at the Jedi who has come to collect his friend and is about to kill you.

Next iPad, iPhone expected to use dual-core graphics

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on January 16th, 2011

We knew that Apple wanted faster mobile graphics for the next iPad and iPhone and we have some more details about its choice. The company is now said to be using the SGX543MP2, specifically the dual-core version. The new video is estimated to have about four times the performance of the current SGX535.

This speed increase would be welcomed along with the rumored 2048×1536 display resolution of the next iPad and could enable the kind of higher quality movie playback that would keep Apple competitive against it’s foes. It would most likely support 1080p video decoding in hardware.

Concept Game Boy iPhone Case

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on January 12th, 2011

Last week at CES 2011 case makers Incipio showed off an awesome looking conceptual Game Boy iPhone case. That’s the good news. It’s adorable right? Well, the bad news is that due to copyright concerns Incipio has no plans to ever bring the Game Boy iPhone case to market.

The Incipio iPhone case is fully detailed with button color, texture, and placement that’s nearly identical to Nintendo’s original Game Boy. That’s what makes it awesome, but it is also what makes it a problem apparently. The idea was to show what the company can do. They now have our attention.
