LEDit app for iPhone & iPod Touch

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2009

LEDit app for iPhone & iPod Touch LEDit is a led screen ticker emulator app available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. It seems pretty silly at first, but when you think about it, it’s a pretty useful tool to have. Whether you’re in a noisy place like a nightclub or a silent place like library, you can use it to send others a message instead of yelling or whispering.

Just type in the message and hit the “display message” button and LEDit will scroll the message on the screen. It even vibrates to tell you when message has finished scrolling. You can customize text color, speed and set it to repeat.

Midnight Club: Los Angles DLC now available

Posted in Games by Shane McGlaun on March 20th, 2009

midnightclubla-sbRockstar makes some of the most popular video games available with titles like Grand Theft Auto and more. One of the long running franchises for the studio has been the Midnight Club series. The latest title in the franchise is Midnight Club: LA and I have been talking about new DLC content coming for the game for a while. Back in February I mentioned the content would be coming in March and it is finally here.

Rockstar has announced that the anticipated South Central Map Expansion and South Central Premium Upgrade are both now available on the PS3 and Xbox. The map expansion is a free update that adds four new neighborhoods to the game.

Midnight Club: Los Angles DLC coming in March

Midnight Club: LAOne of the coolest games I have played on the PS3 for a while is Midnight Club: Los Angles. I think the game is every bit as fun (and very similar to) Need for Speed Undercover. One of the most interesting parts of Midnight Club: LA is that the locations in the game are all real from the LA area.

Back in December 2008 I mentioned that Rockstar had said it would be bringing DLC for the game to players. The developer has finally announced a launch date for two different DLC packs. Both packs will be available for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 on March 12.

Night Owl iGen Night Vision camera

Posted in Night Vision by Conner Flynn on January 18th, 2009

Night Owl iGen Night Vision cameraIf you’re looking for a monocular that can capture images in complete darkness, look no further. Whether searching for Owls or just plain being a perv of some sort, the Night Owl iGen Night Vision Camera is the world’s only night scope that can also take pictures. The device features a 330′ field of view, 650X ambient light amplification, a CCD/Micro-display system for enhanced viewing, and a standard secure digital memory card storage.

The pictures are black and white and get saved onto an SD Memory Card. What I want to know is what motivates people to go out in the bitter cold dead of night and snap pics. Are you guys really finding anything that exciting? It’s not like you’ve obtained proof of Bigfoot or aliens.

HTC S743 available in Q1 2009HTC is dropping it’s latest slider smartphone, the S743, which aims for both style and power. On a disappointing note, why have an alphanumeric keypad in front when it features a full QWERTY keyboard when fully opened? The display could have been a full touchscreen.

Other features on the HTC S743 aren’t as disappointing: 12-key kepad design, Full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, Supports HSDPA (850/1900MHz) networks, 2.4″ QVGA display and Microsoft Exchange support.

Kid goes nuts when he gets a Wii for Christmas

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on January 4th, 2009

No one can really blame a kid for going nuts when he gets a Wii for Christmas, what with the current Wii shortage and all. Still, there’s something a little off about how excited this kid gets. He must have been dreaming about wrapping his little hand around the Wiimote and getting in on the busting up a TV with your Wiimote action, for months.

Because he sure is excited about receiving his game console. The video is weird, but worth a laugh or two. Go on and watch it. Then you tell me if this little guy isn’t destined to be the next this guy. Oh and keep the volume down.

Actual video of a Wiimote to the TV

Posted in Humor by Conner Flynn on December 15th, 2008

Actual video of a Wiimote to the TVThis is the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. We’ve seen tons of tons pics of the aftermath of what an LCD TV looks like after it’s had a Wiimote encounter of the nerd kind, but I’m thinking this may be the first actual recorded instance of the phenomenon. It’s captivating.

The dude is playing Wii Bowling real close to the TV. When the carnage takes place, the first thing he does is call for his mama, then he touches the TV and gives it a few gentle nudges, no doubt believing that this will somehow make it all right again. Again he calls for his mama. Video below.
