Safety-Sponge system keeps you sponge free

Safety-Sponge system keeps you sponge free
You would think that after years of fancy Doctor school, surgeons would know better then to sew you back up with say, a sponge or other equipment inside of you. These bozos are basically using their patients for mobile storage of their equipment. At least we can now do something about the sponges. The idea is that every single sponge has to be accounted for. You can’t rely on nurses to manually count the sponges before and after an operation. They’re too busy admiring and having sex with Doctor Hunk to give a toss.

Rely instead on the Safety-Sponge system from SurgiCount. It uses special bar codes printed on every sponge that are scanned into a PocketPC computer before and after they’re used. Because every single sponge has a unique bar code, the system even alerts the operating room staff if the same sponge has been scanned twice. So now you know. There is no longer any reason for these quacks to leave sponges inside of you. Other tools are still fair game, though. Like those tweezers in your abdomen.

Other than that we know that it has dual band support with the 5GHz band being used, it’s compatible with printers and scanners, and is very fast with 300,000 concurrent sessions available. Feel free to stare. That’s what we’ve been doing.

Sirius XM SkyDock converts your iPhone into a Satellite RadioSirius XM’s SkyDock isn’t super sexy. It isn’t elegant. It is what it is, a standalone satellite radio receiver with an iPod connector that will let you listen to space radio on your iPhone or iPod Touch. And that’s fine with us because it’s the only way to do so.

The dock uses iPhone OS 3.0′s new hardware support and plugs into your car’s DC jack for power and support. This dock will cost you $120, plus the required subscription to Sirius XM radio. A free companion app sets your iPhone up as a radio controller. Pretty cool.

EA bringing Dante’s Inferno game to PSP, Xbox, and PS3

Posted in Games by Shane McGlaun on April 22nd, 2009

dantesinferno-sbDante’s inferno was one of the books I had to read in literature class back in the day. I can’t say it was one of my favorite books and I wished it were a movie instead so I didn’t actually have to read it. Students today can crib for the quiz with a new video game from EA based on the book.

The game is based on part one of the Dante Alighieri classic, “The Divine Comedy.” The game will put players on a mission to move through the nine circles of hell including high school, college … I mean limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery.

Fido unveils pink Nokia 3500

Fido unveils pink Nokia 3500The Nokia 3500 is now available in pink from Fido, even though it doesn’t look all that pink. Not really that big of a deal. The pink is limited to the direction pad and keypad which light up. The pinkified Nokia 3500 will cost the same as the regular version of the 3500: $15 a month with a 3-year contract, $90 for a 2-year contract, $100 standalone phone. Probably a good phone for those girls who want to be all Sex in the City.

It features a 2 megapixel camera, music player and built-in FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, tri-band GSM support and a microSD memory card slot. Also has Handsfree speaker, Voice commands, calendar, to-do list, notes, countdown timer, stopwatch and calculator. Just a bit of pink. Nothing to see here. Move along.
