Netflix and Hulu dominate entirely separate sectors of digital streaming, according to a Nielsen study. Both are now available on many platforms, but Netflix is the dominant one on non-PCs, including iPads, game consoles, and media hubs, ranging from a three-to-one ratio on Apple’s tablet to seven or eight times higher.

Hulu isn’t a lame duck though. They win on computers, often by a wide margin, with 89 percent of its viewers watching on a computer versus just 42 percent of Netflix owners wanting to do the same. Networked media hubs like Roku boxes and smartphones were a close race, though they have a smaller viewing audience as a whole.

Instead it will measure how long you have been asleep and wake you up when you’ve had the right amount.

I don’t need to stinkin woodpecker clock to tell me when I’ve had enough sleep, but hey that’s just me. There are two alarms, one for the evening, telling you when to go to sleep, and one in the morning, telling you when to wake up.

We all love NES cartridge mods. But here’s the thing. When it looks like a third grader did it, we aren’t really interested. A good mod looks like something that you could potentially buy and something that maybe you can’t do yourself. Sorry, but this misses the mark.

That Duck Hunt cart died for this? This is less of a mod and more of a cut hole and insert cable project. Plus it’s ugly. I don’t mean to be a downer, but this is the red-headed step child of mods right here.

A complete NES in a cartridge. This NES cartridge casemod holds a complete library of NES games, uses the original buttons, resides inside the Super Mario/Duck Hunt combo cartridge. Awesomeness? I think so.

But that isn’t all it does. It’s also an mp3 player, movie player and an FM radio receiver. It also features video out so that you can play on the big screen if you want. If only the NES had been this small originally.

The FC Mobile II Console will let you play all of your old NES games. It improves on its predecessor by pulling double duty as a handheld and a home gaming system in one unit. NES cartridges can be docked directly in to the portable handheld system which features a 2.5″ LCD screen. While the home gaming system can be connected to a TV screen, and now comes with 2 wireless handheld controllers, and a wireless gun for playing hours of Duck Hunt.

The FC Mobile II is available in black or white. No word on pricing yet but the previous system sells for about $40. So you may want to consider digging out all those NES cartridges.

The Famicom Box is a rare piece of Nintendo history. It’s an old school Nintendo system with 15 games built in. Sort of like Nintendo’s Greatest Hits. The games include Duck Hunt, Mega Man and Super Mario Brothers. It comes with two controllers and a light gun. Believe it or not it was designed for hotels and arcades.

It’s a rare nerd artifact, highly sought after and it’s available now on Yahoo Auctions at a starting price of $110. How high it will go is anyone’s guess. So, if you want an expensive NES alternative, the Famicombox may be for you. Your friends will be envious should you win.

This game looks familiar. Except now you can really score a kill. Well, not really. But it’s as close as some of you will ever get to killing a flying duck. Available this spring, the Duck Hunter is like a WowWee Dragonfly mashed up with the classic Duck Hunt lightgun shooting game.

The duck launches from your IR blaster, charging in just 10 seconds from a few AA batteries in the pistol. When the robotic duck takes flight autonomously, just shoot the bird three times. Robot duck death will follow.

What’s a guy to do for a hobby when he has a love for both NES and Lego? Combine them of course. More specifically recreate all kinds of classic NES awesomeness using Legos. Scenes from such games as Metal Gear, Duck Hunt, Excitebike, Bionic Commando, Contra, Mortal Combat, Castlevania and more.

These aren’t just slapped together scenes either, but highly detailed snapshots of the game. It’s like a walk down memory lane using Lego vision. It must have taken him hours to do all the work. And a lot of game pausing.

We’ve seen some pretty weird bikes that want to keep the family traveling together, ever since the price of gas has gone crazy. The crazy Electric Bike Train comes to mind.

Well, here’s another idea. The Zigo bike has apparently taken dad from the equation all together, opting to put mom either behind or on the thing, while the kid or kids are in the danger zone up front known as the ChildPod. The ChildPod can be removed and transformed into a stroller lightning quick, and the Zigo can be used as a standard 2-wheeled bicycle once you attach the front wheel. It’s $995 worth of parts swapping with kids in tow.

For you hunters out there needing to track Fido in the field to make sure he isn’t eating your dead duck, Garmin has a new GPS collar to add to its Astro GPS Dog tracking system. It is called the Garmin DC 30, and you’ll find it pricing standalone around $200 or as part of a complete kit with GPS receiver at around $650.

The Garmin DC 30 is mainly designed for hunting dogs, but you could probably tag this bad boy on your pooch to track him around the dog park as well. It is “weighted to sit below the dog’s neck, while a small, low-profile GPS antenna is integrated into the collar strap and positioned on top of the dog’s neck, providing a clear view of satellites with minimal rotation.”

The price of gas being what it is, and considering what it will reach, suddenly all kinds of personal transport concepts are looking more promising. Take the Electric Bike Train for instance. In a world of skyrocketing gas prices, it’s the perfect electric bike for an entire large family.

It’s designed by Jiang Qian, and while I can’t find anything about just how many bikes can be linked up, I would guess quite a few. The front wheel connects to the two rear tires of the next unit. See, even when gas is unaffordable, you can still listen to your kids bitch and whine and ask “Are we there yet?”.
