The three day event hosts close to 3,000 companies and about 150,000 people. The show is centered at the Las Vegas Convention Center but it also spills over into surrounding casinos.

Sony Unveils 70-inch Bravia KDL-70XBR3 LCD HDTVToday Sony unveiled its new 70-inch flat panel LCD HDTV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Sony stated that the Bravia KDL-70XBR3 HDTV is the world’s largest television compliant with x.v.Color.

The 70-inch Bravia features a 10-bit panel, which gives a finer gradient than most LCD’s with an 8-bit panel. Along with that, Sony incorporated a Motionflow technology at 120Hz. SAMSUNG Develops Double-sided LCDSamsung’s newly developed double-sided LCD can produce independent images simultaneously on the front and back of the same mobile LCD display. Current double-sided LCDs are limited to showing only a reverse image of the same video data.

The technology will “accelerate the trend toward slimmer mobile products” by replacing two display panels with one, thus reducing overall thickness of mobile products by at least 1mm. The new double-sided LCD is 2.6mm thick and 2.22″ wide, with QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution.

Toshiba 1.8 Inch 100GB HDD

Toshiba 100GB 1.8 Inch HDDTokyo – Toshiba has announced the release of a new 1.8 inch hard drive with a capacity of 100GB. That is a density of 155.3 gigabits per square inch, and is the most of any current 1.8 inch drive.

The new small hard drive (MK1011GAH) uses perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology and an improved error correction code to help obtain the high density in the small drive, and it also complies with energy conservation laws consuming a low amount of power.
