Samsung Beat compact phone
For $99 with a 2-year contract via T-Mobile, the Samsung Beat music phone seems like a pretty good thing. There’s a fairly loud green speaker on the front as seen in the photo to pump out your tunes, and the phone has a pretty decent set of features for the price.

The phone supports a 2GB microSD and comes stock with a 1GB microSD card. Take snapshots with the 1.3 MP camera, and receive vibrating alerts with Photo caller ID. For those who use it, Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology is provided for your convenience.

nX6000 Bluetooth Headset Reviewed

Posted in Bluetooth,Headsets,Review by Reuben Drake on September 9th, 2007

CellPoint nX6000 Bluetooth headset is small, easy to use and has excellent noise cancellationCellPoint has recently acquired a couple of Bluetooth headset product lines from Gennum, one of which is called the nX6000 and we recently had the opportunity to review it here at the ‘Brick. This model wasn’t Gennum’s first crack at the mobile headset market. Prior to this version was the nXZEN PLUS 5500 and in our opinion they’ve done quite a nice job with improving the look while still maintaining a very quality product.

There are a few main features of the nX6000 that are important to point out, which are also key things we look for when choosing a good headset, the first of these being its size. This device measures only 1.75 x 0.8 x 0.5 inches and weighs a mere 0.38 ounces making it a feasible solution for multiple continuous hours of comfortable use. It comes packaged with 3 different sizes of ear tips and 2 different sized ear hooks. The ear tips are designed to fit slightly inside your ear which makes a much clearer sound and helps keep the device in place. Some headsets that do not do this will flop around when the wearer moves their head, making a loose feel. Even with glasses the device was easy to wear and fit comfortably.

SouthWing SH440SouthWing, a developer of Bluetooth products, announced today a new Bluetooth headset available for sale through AT&T. The SH440, while not the prettiest girl on the block, seems to at least have a thoughtful price of around $50.

The SouthWing SH440 offers some interesting features to help distinguish it among budget Bluetooth headsets. When you first turn it on the headset automatically goes into pairing mode and uses voice guidance to help you find a connection with your mobile. The SH440 also uses the same voice to speak the number calling you, as well as telling you how much battery talk time is left.

Cell Phone Attitudes of U.S. ConsumersI have a cell phone that I use strictly for its functional purpose – to make phone calls. I choose not to “personalize” my phone with ringtones, faceplates, photos, or smells. In wireless industry parlance, this makes me an “Adult Adopter”.

comScore Networks recently published a study that focused on trends in the wireless industry. The part of the study I was most interested in is the study of behavior and attitudes that wireless consumers have towards their mobile phones. The survey was conducted from October 25, 2006 to November …
