appBlaster iPhone accessory

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Reuben Drake on June 23rd, 2011

We have plenty of gun accessories for the Wii or Move wands, I guess it’s only fitting that we also have a rifle-like dock for the iPhone. The appBlaster from apptoyz is designed specifically for the company’s Alien Attack iOS game.

Just slide in your iDevice and you will be able to see the invisible aliens and mow them down. When you pull the trigger, two capacitive pads touch the screen to fire. The appBlaster is available for pre-order right now for about $32) and will arrive on July 7.

Wireless Hyper Touch Guitar

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on March 27th, 2011

The Wireless Hyper Touch Guitar was delivered to our time by some roadie aliens from a distant future, in order to rock our world….Actually it’s just a concept, but a damn sexy one, from Max Battaglia. It has a sleek and sexy exterior, but the awesome part is its wireless/stringless neck and fretboard.

It doesn’t use steel strings, instead it has a multi touch screen that has a bunch of modular features. So the player can adjust the guitar according to his/her own wants/needs. We hope this one becomes a reality very soon.

Kinect and Wiimote hack for Dead Space 2

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on February 12th, 2011

We’ve seen other hacks where the Kinect uses a Nintendo Wiimote, but the creator of this hack used the FAAST emulator for the Kinect and GlovePIE for the Wiimote, allowing you to have some pretty interesting Dead Space 2 games.

One interesting aspect of this hack is the ability to stomp on your the aliens in the game, which looks very satisfying. I’d love to play DS2 like this. Looks like a lot of fun.

Revo Round introduces a round laptop

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on October 5th, 2010

Well, here’s a first. We’ve never seen a round laptop before. It comes from Revo Round, so maybe it isn’t so surprising. Yep, this is a round laptop that comes with a round display, a round case and a curved keyboard.

It’s called the Roundtop. This has to be how aliens use the internet in their UFOs. This concept model would take some getting used to. Revo Round hopes that their Roundtop technology will see action as billboards and other displays one day. Good thing too, because this laptop is just too weird.

7 foot tall Halo Elite costume is scary

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on June 30th, 2010

The Halo aliens look scary on screen. I mean these are some bad-ass aliens, huge aliens, in armor. With guns. Everytime I play, I thank god I’ve never seen the real thing. Now I have. And I have wet myself.

This costume is so realistic, it’s scary. The animatronic Halo Elite costume was created by effects artist Pete Mander and could easily be used in a movie. It’s over seven feet tall and took countless hours to build. The man is a genius.

Space Invaders messenger bag

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on June 27th, 2010

This Space Invaders messenger bag displays your allegiance to human-kind and tells passers-by that you are not afraid to kill row upon row of aliens to get the high score. Sure, these are not official Space Invaders on this messenger bag, but they look good to me.

This vinyl messenger bag will carry your portable gadgets, maybe a small laptop, or an iPad. And you’ll be displaying your geeky side.

Space Invaders Salt and Pepper shakers

Posted in Kitchen by Conner Flynn on March 31st, 2010

Those aliens from Space Invaders have now set their sights on seasoning food at the dinner table. Probably because food doesn’t shoot back like we do.

Spice invaders if you will. Too bad they are not for sale yet. As soon as they become available, I’m buying like fifty of these and lining them all up on the table so I can play a 3D game. I’ll shoot them one at a time and watch the salt and pepper spray out of their alien bodies.

Zap aliens with the Alien Hunter Alarm Clock

Posted in Clocks by Conner Flynn on March 25th, 2010

I don’t care what kind of alien you are, if you wake me up, you’re getting zapped by a laser gun. Unless you’re one of those grey abducting bastards, in which case I’ll probably get anal-probed and forget the whole thing. But anyway, the Alien Hunter alarm clock is designed to make waking up a game.

That alien coming out of the gooey egg wakes you up and you shoot it dead. Can you imagine this going on every day? That’s how aliens are, they never stop. The Alien Hunter alarm clock is priced at just $19. You can get a lot of kills for that price.

Alien sculpture made from 1,200 lbs of motorcycle steel

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on February 28th, 2010

There are few things scarier than the Aliens from Alien, even when they are made from steel. This is the work of three artists from the Irish company RoboSteel, who gathered 4,000 pieces of steel and then welded together this “Alien Queen”.

This 8-foot sculpture would be even scarier than the one in Ridley Scott’s film, because it’s right there in your face. What’s not scary is that it is green. 90% of the Alien’s 1,200 pounds of parts are recycled from Yamaha motorcycles.

Space Invaders tights for the geek girl in your life

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

We love Space Invaders and if we could we would have our human women wear tights with the alien invaders on them. Well, now we can. These would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for that geek girlfriend.

They’re designed and distributed from Australia by Black Milk Clothing and they not only have the classic aliens from the game, they also show off your figure. $80 seems a bit steep, but putting a classic arcade game on your cameltoe? Priceless.

Ladies of Star Wars Playing Cards

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on December 23rd, 2009

Nothing passes the time like a deck of cards. But geeks don’t understand games like poker or Black Jack, though War and Go Fish are no problem. What geeks do understand is Star Wars. The ladies of Star Wars that is.

You’ll be so distracted by the images on these cards that you won’t care if you win or lose. The deck has 55 unique images with Leia in her famous slave outfit as the Queen of Hearts to Amidala. The Ladies of Star Wars Playing Cards are only $4.99 at ThinkGeek.

Posted in Lamps by Conner Flynn on October 20th, 2009

Alien Abduction Lamp releasedThis lamp has been a long time coming and we’ve been waiting patiently for our chance to see cows in mid-abduction. It has finally gone from prototype to reality. You gotta love the aliens peering out of the UFO windows.

This final version of the lamp features LEDs that light up the alien cockpit, and a steel retro spacecraft over an illuminated tractor beam. You can have the light always on or a pulse lighting effect behind the windows. When you turn the lights off, the aliens glow in the dark.

Domsai Terrariums make plants look like astronauts

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on September 24th, 2009

Domsai Terrariums make plants look like astronautsImagine that you land on the moon and that you are just minding your own business, collecting rock samples and playing a round of golf, occasionally driving your rover. And you see plant people coming at you wearing spacesuits. Can you imagine the horror?

I can, thanks to these Domsai Terrariums, which make ordinary plants look like astronauts. Each of these Domsai Terrariums are unique since they are hand-cast and the glass bulbs are mouth-blown. That’s also why they are expensive. They’ll cost you $140. If you want the gold one, it will be an additional $360.
