BenQ has the slimmest LCD of them all

BenQ is all about staying ahead of the competition in displays with the V2220. It features 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, but the real kicker here is that it is just 15mm thick, which makes it the thinnest 21.5 monitor available.

It supports HDMI and headphone connection options, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 250 nits of brightness, 1000:1 real contrast ratio and a 5ms response time. The display will be launched in Taiwan within in a few months, and will be available everywhere else in June.

HP now has an updated version of its TouchSmart 600 Quad All-In-One PC series. It comes equipped with the newest Intel Core i7 processor. You get your choice of either an Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz or Core i7-820QM 1.73GHz CPU.

Some other specs include an 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT230M graphics card, a 23-inch Full HD multitouch display, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 1.5TB hard drive, a built-in webcam, a slot-loading DVD drive, a 6-in-1 memory card reader and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

Yes HTPCs are getting smaller and smaller. One day soon they will be the size of a flash drive, with flash drives being the size of a pebble. This crazy small PC has a Via EPIA-P820 Pico-ITX motherboard inside, and Via’s AMOS-3001 is the first PC to use it. It has COM ports and two USB ports on the front, and Ethernet, USB, and HDMI ports in back. It measures just 6 inches wide.

The 1.2GHz all-in-one VIA VX855 Media System Processor plays 1080p video as well. And yes the design is fanless, which keeps things silent. No pricing info just yet, but we should know more soon.

The company has unveiled the One ZX lineup, which will consist of the ZX6800 series and ZX4800 series. Both will ship with Windows 7.

So they’ve decided to protect their potential future buyers by announcing MyPhones, a set of over-the-ear headphones for kids.

MyPhones are designed for children age 3 to 12 and are smaller than normal headphones. They also include a built-in volume limiter that prevents the headphones from producing audio higher than 85 decibels, which is the recommended maximum volume to avoid hearing damage.

Wal-Mart DVD players may burst into flamesWal-Mart is recalling about 1.5 million Durabrand DVD players because of a potential for the device to simply burst into flames and ruin your day. Wal-Mart received 12 complaints about the DVD players overheating and in five of those cases, the overheating resulted in a fire that damaged property.

That’s not the kind of movie night you want right? Even if you were watching Backdraft. The DVD player in question is imported from China and sold at Wal-Mart stores from January 2006 through July 2009 for $29. The DVD player came with a remote and is silver with a U-shaped opening at the top to insert the DVD. If you spot this culprit in your home, call Wal-Mart immediately.

Samsung launching first 400Hz TVs in September?Word on the street is that Samsung will use this year’s IFA trade show to unveil its latest range of 400Hz LCD TVs. It was only at last year’s IFA that Samsung was showing of the world’s first 200Hz LCD televisions. Then Sony came up with theirs.

It’s just a rumor for now. And if true, we don’t know if it will it be a production model or just a prototype, but according to Tweakers.net, this new technology from Samsung will “combine the current 200Hz interpolation technique to insert black frames, a technique that is called BFI/DFI [black frame, dark frame interpolation].”

The Blackhole phone features a large display when you are reading a message, but it turns into a large keypad when you need to enter some text of your own. Which is convenient.

We don’t have a clue how it is supposed to do what it does,but we like it. The guess is that motion sensing technology transforms the digital display from a big screen to the key screen. Switching modes is as easy as reversing the handset.
