ati5750ATI is really taking it to NVIDIA of late with video cards that offer lots of performance at a good price. NVIDIA is finding that it has more of a challenge in the market than it used to. Today photos and specifications for the HD 5750 and HD 5770 video cards turned up.

Both of the cards are set to launch on October 13 and sport an abundance of connectivity including DVI, HDMI, and display port. You can bet that those options will vary depending on the card partner though. The HD 5750 will have 720 stream processors and a core clocked at 700MHz. The card will also be offered with either 512MB or 1GB of RAM running 1.15GHz. The 512MB version will sell for $109 with the 1GB going for $129.

We don’t have any info on pricing details yet, but folks who want to upgrade from older BlackBerries might want to start that ebay listing to get rid of the old one for some quick cash.

Kohjinsha Netbook concept with dual 10.1-inch screensDual-screen notebooks are still popping up and the latest is Kohjinsha’s dual 10.1-inch screen netbook prototype, which was spotted at the CEATEC show in Japan. Just like the Lenovo W700, which started it all, one screen slides behind the other so you can use one or both.

Of course this makes it just a bit thicker than your average netbook. Under the hood you’ll find Windows 7, a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor, maximum 4GB RAM, and a 160GB hard disk.

BlackBerry 9700 Onyx spottedIn case you were curious as to what the 3G capable BlackBerry 9700 looks like on a hardwood floor, here ya go. The device is rumored to have a November 11 launch date on T-Mobile, but that’s unconfirmed.

That’s about all we have right now. When we last checked in with this guy, it was before it’s heady days posing on hardwood and pouting at the photographer. Some of the rumored specs include: a new Trackpad, Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSDPA, 480×360 resolution screen, OS 5.0, QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel AF camera and Bluetooth.

iMo Foto Frame PrinterHot on the heels of Sony’s new digital photo frame/printer, comes this iMo Foto Frame Printer. Yep, it’s an 8″, 800 x 600 digital photo frame and printer all mangled lovingly together.

It’s a stand-alone device and doesn’t require a computer connection, but it sports a USB input and accepts CF/SD/MS/MMC and xD memory cards. It may not be the most attractive thing in the world, but it prints 6 x 4 glossy prints at 300 dpi. The cartridge is replaceable and holds enough paper and ink for 36 prints.

Sony is going where no brand has gone before in the world of digital photo frames with the announcement of the DPP-F700. It’s basically a 7 inch frame that has a printer attached.

It’s a WVGA display with support for up to 800 x 480 resolution. You also get a gigabyte of memory, 21 different templates for displaying the time and date and it supports a bunch of card types, SD cards, SDH cards, etc.

China Unicom set to launch iPhone in October

iphone3g-sbChina Unicom and Apple signed a deal a month or so back, that resulted in the iPhone 3G getting ready to head over to China with the 700 million mobile subscribers in the country. What we didn’t know is when the phone was coming and how much it would cost.

China Unicom announced today that it would be selling the iPhone at a standalone price of 5,000 yuan or about $732.50. Most people will opt to choose a subsidized package that will bring the cost of the phone down significantly.

It’s selling for as low as $624.99 (or $640 list price). The monitor features dual 17-inch LCDs that can be used in screen-spanning mode for an extra-wide 34-inch display, or be rotated and reoriented for users sitting across form each other gameshow style.

Each display sports 1,440 x 990 resolution, and you’ll need dual VGA or DVI inputs if you want to run it from one computer. Some other features include 8ms response time, a 1.3MP webcam with microphone, and a three-port USB Hub.

LG unveils two wireless HDTVs

lgwirelsshdtvThe worst thing about home theater gear and HDTVs is that there are lots of wires. Wires don’t look good and if your wife is a wire hater like mine, you end up catching lots of grief. LG has announced a couple new HDTVs that are wireless.

The two new sets include the LG 55LHX and the LH85. The TVs use a media box to transmit uncompressed full 1080p signals with “virtually” no interference directly to the TV. The TV can pick up the wireless signals from up to 30 feet away.

First official BlackBerry Onyx imageNot that it’s much of a secret, but this is the first official image of RIM’s latest BlackBerry smartphone, the BlackBerry “Bold 9700″ or Onyx from T-Mobile. You get a high-gloss black finish with leather grain detail on the back.

Some other features include high-speed 3G Web browsing, Wi-Fi calling, visual voicemail and support for corporate and personal e-mail. The phone also comes preloaded with mobile applications from BlackBerry App World, including Amazon MP3 store for music downloads and TeleNav GPS Navigator for turn-by-turn directions.

Toshiba unveils U500 Ducati laptopCheck out this Toshiba/Ducati love child. We’ll leave it up to you as to whether it’s awesome or disastrous. The Toshiba U500 Ducati laptop does look good, we have to give it props there. It features an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card, along with a Core 2 Duo 8700 processor and 4GB of RAM. Looks like it might also run on Windows 7.

Nothing on a release date yet though and we don’t have a price, but you can expect it to be very expensive since it has two big time brand names on it.

Hell, it’s just plain nice to look at. The LU7000 series comes in sizes from 19″ to 22″, and features an integrated DVD player. That means you’ll be saving some space on your shelf, not to mention you’ll have less wires.

It also sports built-in speakers, a few HDMI ports, one USB 2.0 port and Freeview inside. The TV is compatible with most file formats, so you can view JPEGs and listen to music using the USB 2.0 port. We don’t have any pricing, but we can tell you that it will be arriving in the UK this month.
